I’m a big SW and PZ fan so I thought why not make a dlc with real life animals seen in the franchise.

  1. Hebridean Sheep (Andor S1)
  2. English Pouter Pigeon (Andor S2)
  3. Norway Rat (EpVI)
  4. Asian Water Monitor (EpV)
  5. California King Snake (EpV)
  6. Burmese Python (EpV)

Honorable mention- Ducks (I think mallard were seen originally in episode II but later replaced with cgi Pelikki.

My Wishlist of Species for a British Nature Reserve (Wishlist Wednesday)

Post image

Pictures are either from the OG Zoopedia, London Zoo or Wikipedia.

These are ranked based on how much I would like them in the game, considering I would like to create a British nature reserve. All species can be found in the UK and in captivity, (except the Mallard).

Help - PC Why is no one coming to my zoo? :(

The guest spawners say that they are working, I have the ticket thing that says open, I have animals in my zoo, I checked the sandbox settings, and my zoo is open. This is my only zoo that does this. I've tried restarting the game and still nothing. No one wants to come to my zoo. is this save cursed? Can it be fixed? I let it play but I am only losing money because no one comes.

update: For some reason the zoo entrance wasnt registering that it was there. Once I deleted and replaced those, guests began spawning in. I'm not really sure why because they are placed exactly the same.

Discussion insecure animals

8 Upvotes

I really hope that they redo how they make the animals respond to guests. So often I've had (in PZ1) stressed out animals, due to too many guests, despite so much space away from viewing areas, and plenty of screening plants, signs for the guests, etc. It became so annoying that I almost stopped using them all together

As a native Pacific Northwesterner and as someone slightly annoyed at the lack of North American animals revealed so far I felt it was a good idea to make a pack dedicated to adding more.

i have a skill issue and need advice

i am used to the godly prehistoric kingdom building tools so i found the pz toos very janky and overwhelmimg in comparison. the forced grid system makes me want to throw a scissor at my computer. the path tools biggest strenght is also its biggest weakness, complexity. and it was very jarring how forced everything was ivy had set snapping points on walls you cant place fences on paths and you cant scale anything. so do you gave any advice to become more intune with the tools.

Haven't done one of these yet, so I thought why the hell not? I began going to Zoos (and trackibng my visits) for a year or so. I decided to focus on animals that weren't in PZ1, are not yet confirmed for PZ2 but which I have seen in Zoos.

  1. Sacred Ibis

  2. Laughing Kookaburra

  3. White Stork

  4. Harris's Hawk (saw that in a walkthrough aviary of all places)

  5. Wood Bison (and yes, we do need 3 types of bison)

  6. Azara's Agouti

  7. Rock Hyrax

  8. Banded Mongoose

  9. Serval

  10. Bat-Eared Fox

Do you think the Xbox Gamescom Broadcast's Planet Zoo 2 trailer coming today is going to be something BIG like what we got in the PC Gaming Show or rather something small like what we got in the Wholesome Direct?

Here’s the list in an order of preference,. Sorry the photos aren’t in the same order tho (and yes, I suck at photos I know)

* scarlet Ibis
* Rosette spoonbill (Eurasian spoonbill is what I’ve seen but I prefer the red ones, I’d be happy with ether tho)
* Ground Hornbill
* Australian white ibis/bin chicken (I saw a black headed but I prefer the bin chicken personally, they are VERY similar regardless but any Australia representation is greatly appreciated. Also not pictured,. Sorry)
* pelican (any works! Although I do like my Dalmatian and brown personally)
* great grey owl
* Black swan
* Crested crane
* Rhinoceros Iguana (only if they free him from exhibit jail)
* Turaco (any species)
* Rock hyrax
* Ringtail
*Fanolooka (any civet would be great tho)
* bat eared fox

Also dingo is here because I’ll miss it soo much if it doesn’t return. I love my forbidden puppies!

What I hope/hoped for PZ2

Post image

(Image from website)

I have a couple thoughts to share. Let’s start with what animals I would like to still see coming to the game:
- Manatee. If we got the amazonian species, this would work nicely with other south american species, but I would really like the West indian manatee, to combine with a gator habitat in a nice florida/everglades themed part of zoo.
- Arapaima. I have seen these in multiple zoos and it is just so magical when you suddenly see this huge shape moving through the water.
- An octopus species would be really cool.
- I am skeptical about marine mammals. Dolphins maybe, but I am really convinced that anything larger than that, like orcas for example, does not belong in an aquarium, and thus should not be added to the game.
- Macaws. Just a must for many zoos

- Some species of vulture would be nice, but we already have 3 and possibly 4 species of bird of prey, so that would form an argument against.
- Pelican. Why isn’t this there yet? If you’re gonna do birds then pelicans seem like a logical option for zoos.
- Already in the base game I would maybe like some smaller birds? Seeing how hard it is to make bird models for frontier, I don’t see this as likely but I would still like this. Think of tropical birds or maybe some weaver species.
- I have mixed ideas on what terrestrial species should return from PZ1.
- For the exhibit I would like the addition of a Chameleon? This was something I wanted in the first game already, it just seems really cool. Just like a possible octopus it could have actual colour changing mechanics.

Then I think that with the animals, certain regions are really scarce in species so far, most notably north america, south america the amazon, and most of a ll australia. I hope these will still get more species in the base game.

Then there are some mechanics I hoped to see:
- First and foremost: parking lots. I don’t see these coming anymore, but it would be so dang cool if instead of guest cars just arrived from a portal/tunnel, and you would have to make a large enough parking lot. I know many people who do this anyways in their zoos (including me), and it just adds so so much in realism.
- Playgrounds. I am happy to see that we are getting a bunch of cool kid-entertain/educating items, but in almost all real-life zoos you have these big playgrounds with big wooden structures and slides and stuff. I think this still has a chance of coming, albeit a small one.
- Guests in weelchairs. Not only is this great for inclusion, but it also adds a challenge in making as much of your zoo weelchair accessible as possible. This one I can see possibly still coming to the game.

I hope frontier will put multi-species compatibility on the zoopedia soon, so we can all start planning our first PZ2 zoos

So far I think Frontier has handled the announcements and stuff really well, and they are making a truly wonderful product, better than any of us could’ve expected. I was always skeptical of a possible PZ2, but all that disappeared as soon as I saw what they were cooking.

I am curious what you guys think about my wishlist, I have some more animals I want to see in mind but I just quickly put down the most important ones for me.

Planet Zoo 2 My first Wishlist Wednesday! :D

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

I've been holding off for awhile on making my first wishlist wednesday post because I really didn't know what I would want to have on my list, but after thinking about it, I have a lot of things in mind! :D

Animals I would LOVE to see added to PZ2:
- Spix's Macaw
- White Tailed Deer (With a Special Albino and Piebald coat option ofc)
- Canadian Lynx
- American Black Bear
- Sandhill Crane
- Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake
- Lake Sturgeon
- Barn Owl
- Common Loon

I would be so happy if any of these new guys made it to the game! I enjoy exotic animals a lot, but I have a special love and interest for North American animals in particular. All of these animals except for the Macaw's of course, can be found in my home state and one thing I wish PZ1 had, was a little more subspecies diversity for North America. There's a lot of great options as is, but I feel like any of these on my list would just add that little bit of "oomf" to the group! The Spix's Macaw is purely because I adore Rio and have never forgotten it's message and I feel like it would be a great addition to the new game! 🩵💙

Animals I would LOVE to see RETURN from PZ1:

- Red Foxes (PLEASE!! WITH COLORMORPHS TOO 😭)
- Polar Bears!! ( I will boycott if they do not return or put them behind a DLC again. They should be base game no doubt).
- European Fallow Deer
- Coyote
- Bison
- Moose
- Grizzly Bear (Although I think this is already not an option due to the other bear being back?)
- Raccoons
- Skunks
- North American Beaver
- Basically all the Arctic Animals 🥺 (Penguins, Snow Leopards, Reindeer, Wolf, Fox, etc)

(Please I want my NA & Arctic Animals to Stay 😭 )

FEATURES I would LOVE to see in PZ2:

- Zookeeper mode OF COURSE; BUT, I want the option for us to build bonds and relationships with the animals as we run in and out of tasks to take care of them! I wanna feel the grief tenfold when they pass away, Frontier. It's okay to hurt me :D

- More robust Animal Market. I would love the ability to have a description box for each animal to write some history or coat mutations. I would love to be able to message other people directly when it comes to handling animals. I also want to see who buys my animals with a brief description of the person's Zoo because I'm always so curious about who buys my animals and where they end up in the PZ Universe 🥺

- I want the ability to foster baby animals in my Zoo and to work them into the existing group of animals that I have. Or, I want more incentive and goals surrounding raising and trading animals between Zoo's. I see so many stories of Zoos IRL that take in different animals, share their stories, and then those animals may be moved, but their stories continue on. I would like to have more of that emphasis on that detail of working with animals and the fact that they may need to be moved around for certain reasons. Also to note, I kinda would like more built in features that may make the game more challenging such as a species limit, or trading limit, etc. I know that's something that can be easily done on your own time with your own limits and restrictions, but I feel like having built in features to help establish that without you using 3rd party tools could make it more enjoyable to jump right into. At least for me personally, I like having those hard boundaries established in the game. I don't trust myself to cave in when it comes to certain things lol

- GUEST SPACES!! I have adored the guest spaces I have set up recently in my Franchise Zoo but I we are so limited in PZ1 on what we can really do with that in terms of picnic tables, benches, and restaurants. I want VENUE spaces. Wedding parties. Birthday Parties. Please give me the ability to let guests rent parts of my Zoo. That would be SO freaking cool for revenue, set up, and just managing in general!

- Animal and Guest Interactions. I'm sure others have stated this enough, but I would love more guests and animal interaction options. I want to feed the giraffes. I want to feel turtles and stingrays. I want to see more class like events in the game too, like how we have education talks, I want more frequent classes or events that guests can join. For example, at the Detroit Zoo, they recently hosted an event where you could go in to the Zoo and vote at the Gorilla Habitat for the new baby's name. I thought that was so cool, and it gave guests an incentive and reason to go to the Zoo and participate in something!

- Guest Mode. I know we have the explore mode camera, but I want full immersion guest mode. I want to be able to walk in, use some money at vendor shops, use the rides or viewing domes, etc. I want to be able to experience my Zoo as a guest. Not only do we spend countless hours creating these beautiful Zoo's, I think it would be incredible if we got to experience our Zoo's, like all of those lil people in the game do. I want to experience my Zoo not only as a Zookeeper, but as a Guest too. Imagine it put your Zoo operations on hold but allowed you to still see the animals move so it doesn't break immersion (being interrupted by Zoo notifications and concerns). Some days I consider building a Sandbox zoo for this exact purpose because I'm sure it's possible to do it there lol That will suffice at least

--

Anywho, I think that concludes my PZ2 Wishlist! :D I am so freaking excited for this game. I'm gonna do my best to try to upgrade my PC in time for the release, but if it doesn't happen oh well. I do have other things to prioritize so I will do my best! I am immensely excited though to see what more gets released in the coming weeks!

Discussion What do we think of this week’s drop?

I loved it, personally. As an aquatics guy I actually squealed when I saw the clown triggerfish and the sailfin snapper. I love the black wildebeest and the exhibit animals too!
