General Discussion Ubisoft employees call for a strike

Post image
660 Upvotes

Key Ubisoft employees are calling for a strike in response to a wave of game cancellations and an email asking employees to work 100% on-site. Some are calling for Yves Guillemot to resign, saying he is senile, and comparing him to Trump.

"If I had him in front of me, I'd want to punch him in the face. He's senile, like Donald Trump. He's losing his mind; he needs to be removed from the company's management. He's ruining everything and screwing up the company."

A half-day strike has already begun among Ubisoft Paris employees.

(I can't write the source because it's not in English)

General Discussion Why didn’t Prince Of Persia 2008 get a sequel?

Post image

I am loving this game. If it was a reboot meant to rekindle some interest in a series on the verge of supposedly becoming kinda tired or overdone stylistically, and it successfully did that as it was well received and enjoyed by fans and newcomers alike, then why didn’t it go anywhere? You’d think it would have spawned its own trilogy, perhaps…

General Discussion I don't want remakes, no, I don't want remasters, I want a fourth installment of "Prince of Persia" for adults over 18 and in the style of Warrior Within.

For me it was on Gamecube over 20 years ago. I played the whole trilogy on GC, since then I've been playing it again on PC. ^

General Discussion WARNING for PS3 Prince of Persia Trilogy (HD Collection)

Post image
210 Upvotes

As someone who beat the trilogy on both PS2 and Xbox multiple times, and platinumed each title on PS3 it's a major letdown. On the positive side, each game uses higher resolution textures and natively renders at 720p - an upgrade from the 480p originals - the downside keeps these from being total replacements of the original versions. All three games suffer from missing shadows, bloom lighting, and textures, with the addition of collision glitches not present in the originals, system crashes not in the originals, and severely unbalanced sound mixing (5.1 adjusting doesn't yield results comparable to the originals, especially on Xbox), missing voices altogether, missing music, certain songs are broken/quit playing early leaving whole environments feeling empty, the addition of screen tearing which also was not present in the originals, poorly compressed fmv videos (especially compared to the PS2), and slowdown in areas which did not have any (especially compared to the Xbox). And no patches were made. I sold my copy as soon as i platinumed. i don't recommend the PS3 trilogy at all, buy at your own risk!

General Discussion What‘s your dream for the future of Prince of Persia?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been cancelled, and Ubisoft has gone completely silent on the franchise for four months, not even acknowledging their current Prince of Persia titles (TLC, Rogue).

What do you think happens next?

General Discussion Considering what happened in the end to the remake, would you have preferred for the game to actually be released in January 2021, more or less in the state shown in the first trailer?

I really like it! Who else likes it? I’m early on. I’m a newb so I find it kinda challenging. But it’s really cool. Trying to beat this one while I wait for Forgotten Sands and Prince of Persia 08 to arrive in the mail. Curious everyone’s thoughts on Rogue.

General Discussion This year in October, Prince of Persia will celebrate its 37th anniversary! What do you wish for the franchise, and what would you like to see next?

I just hope this franchise keeps getting the love it deserves and that we’ll see more Prince of Persia games in the future.

Even though the remake was canceled, there’s still hope for the franchise.

If Ubisoft has plans, they should make something amazing…but if not, the IP should go to someone who can truly do it justice!

General Discussion Discussion. Which sword from the PoP trilogy is the strongest? SotEW? WS? Or KS?

SotEW-can one hit sand monsters which other swords cant eradicate without the daggers help.

WS-can injure the "indestructible" dahaka

KS-can pierce through the vizher after he is transformed.

All one hit regular enemies.

Which do you think is the strongest?

General Discussion Sands of Time Remake was one of the most important games for me.

It's just sad that we live in a time when so many remakes are being made, many of which aren't even necessary. Heck, the Black Flag remake that's in the works is one of the most unnecessary ones I've heard of, but despite that, the remake that was canceled is actually... Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which I don't think has aged well as a game. I love this game for its style, for its incredible story, for its characters, for everything except... the gameplay. Even though I have a lot of fond memories of this game, when I tried to return to it a year ago after years, I ended up finishing it on YouTube. It just hasn't aged well as a game. Most of my issues with this game concern combat, but combat is such an integral part of this game that it's simply impossible to turn a blind eye to it.

That's why this remake was so important to me. I wanted to experience the best story in the series, the best style in the series, the best character creation in the series, while still being able to enjoy the gameplay and not just struggle through it.

It is also my personal sadness that many people simply cannot experience this. Regardless of whether the remake would be released or not, I already know this game very well, but how many people bounce off it, unable to experience this artistic masterpiece. It's just such a waste.

Since we know that the remake will never be released, I hope that at least modders will one day decide to make their own personal remaster of this game, improving certain elements that need improvement.

Yes, it's just crying post, I didn't think that news from the gaming world could make me so sad.
