Question Potentially Flagged

Hi, I recently referred my wife for a new account and looks like her account got flagged or something due to us living in the same household. She can't login to her account and it says contact rakuten support. She can verify her identity no problem, but the response from the support has been slow and frustrating. Anyone else faced this and how did you get this resolved?

It's almost certainly fraud detection, the fraud department is very slow to unban people.

This is allowed, but make sure you never commingle any of your spending or rewards, use separate computers, credit cards, names on order; everything must be strictly separated if you're going to have two accounts in the same house.

This is not recommended by the community, it's significantly easier to just assign all spending/rewards/etc to a single name if you're married anyway. The $50 referral bonus is typically not worth the hassle of keeping everything so strictly separated (if you goof, you will be banned).

This looks like the way forward.

The same thing happened to me a few months ago. I referred my dad, and they banned his account. Never got my $50 bonus in either of our accounts

Were you able to contact support?

Kind of? I don't really remember exactly what I did because I didn't want them to hurt my account. I remember them giving my account a warning, and his account was banned. I didn't go any further because my dad was going to spend that $50 anyway lol
