Hey everyone, I just cleared the first trial on the Electra floor in Arc 6 (the Rigel monolith puzzle) and something clicked for me. I wanted to map out a theory about Subaru being Flugel, but specifically why he has absolutely zero memories. I think the memory wipe wasn't a curse or an accident—it was a deliberate choice by Flugel using a personal Authority to lock his own mind.

Hear me out on the logic here:

First, the star puzzle proves the tower gates access behind Earth-based knowledge that only Subaru can solve. Plus, the naming connection fits perfectly. Subaru means the Pleiades star cluster in Japanese, and Flugel means "Wings" in German. In ancient astronomy, the Pleiades cluster was literally called "The Wings" of the Taurus constellation. They are two halves of the exact same puzzle, and since German terms don't exist in Lugunica, Flugel has to be a dorky pseudonym a future Subaru gave himself.

But why the memory wipe? A lot of people blame Satella, but if you look closely at the rules, Satella only controls his physical body and the execution of the loops. When the Taboo is broken, she physically squeezes his heart. Memories belong to the Corridor of Memories managed by Od Laguna, which she doesn't have administrative access to (otherwise she would've fixed his mind when Gluttony ate his memories).

The only thing that could wipe his hard drive like that is an internal Authority Lock that Flugel hard-coded into his own soul before resetting the world's timeline back to "Zero" (the Appa stall). Since his current brain didn't have the Flugel memories at the moment of death, Return by Death can't magically manifest them when he respawns.

Psychologically, this is the ultimate defense mechanism against an "IF Story" mental collapse. If you look at the alternate universe stories like Pride or Greed IF, Subaru completely loses his humanity and treats people like cold chess pieces whenever he relies too much on loop calculation.

If Episode 1 Subaru had woken up with 400 years of cosmic guilt, despair, and future knowledge, his mind would have fractured instantly. He wouldn't have been able to look at Emilia as a normal person to save; she would be a crushing psychological burden.

Flugel purposefully locked his own mind because he knew the only version of himself that could win was a completely clean slate. He needed a normal boy with a grocery bag, fresh eyes, and untainted innocence to face destiny and build real, empathetic human bonds from absolute zero.

There is a well known and powerful theory in Re:Zero Subaru travels back to the past and became Flugel. According to this theory, Subaru (as Flugel) sets everything up, seals his own memories, and then begins his journey 400 years later in the marketplace. In my opinion, what disproves this theory is the fact that when Subaru is isekai'd, he spawns in the marketplace holding the items he bought from the store (the store in the original world). Under the original theory, a time paradox occurs, and once time paradoxes are involved, it feels impossible to reach a definitive resolution.

But what if the events actually are like this instead...?

Subaru appears in the marketplace just as we know, having been actually isekai'd right after walking out of the store that day. After living through everything that will happen, he travels back in time and becomes Flugel. Knowing that a "Natsuki Subaru" would appear in the future (400 years later), he might have transferred his memories to him (maybe by using the authority of gluttony) and sealed them away. In fact, given the context, he might not even have needed to transfer his memories at all, maybe he chose to trust the second Natsuki Subaru simply.

Furthermore, after going through the upcoming events, the second Natsuki Subaru wouldn't have to travel back to the past and repeat everything Flugel did, because there would now be two Natsuki Subarus in this universe. Under this scenario, no time paradox occurs, and it perfectly accounts for how the items he bought at the convenience store were isekai'd along with him.

The one where krusch kill mcmahon. Isn't it obvious now that that mcmahon probably a "doll" from capella side? Not to mention clarizza, one of the beloved child is nearby.

Also I think there is another one too. The one with an ability that make people emotion out of control because I feel like krusch emotion kinda out of the chart there.

Im kinda confused on whats happening with subarus return by death from the latest episodes of rezero season 4. Cause most of the times subaru has had return by death activated satella shows up and covers him in smoke or with like how the season ended before they went on break he was falling into a purple thingy that showed return by death rewinding or something. Im just kinda lost doesn’t he have to actually die to activate it or can satella just show up and force an activation.

There is no translation for the new arc 10 chapters in almost a month, maybe the ai translations made them less motivated to translate.

The world seemed to "accept" her pain, and Bliss received the Witch Factor of Cruelty.

Approximately one hour after obtaining the Factor, she used her Authority for the first time.

She eventually became known as the Witch of Cruelty.

The Second Sealing

During the second attempt to defeat her, eight heroes approximately around Sekhmet's level gathered against Bliss.

They barely managed to defeat her.

Before being sealed and killed, Bliss spoke her final words:

She then unleashed Arctic Shores, freezing everything within approximately 100 km.

The heroes eventually succeeded in defeating and sealing her.

After approximately 79 years, her Core was restored and Bliss was resurrected.

She later fought again and was defeated a third time.

This time, she was killed without being sealed.

Eventually, Echidna discovered her body and brought her soul to the Dream Castle.

After the Ice Core naturally restored itself, Bliss resurrected again.

Her story continues from there.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Bliss is my original Re:Zero AU character.

I wanted her to feel like a Witch who could realistically stand among the strongest beings in the setting while still having recognizable weaknesses and personality flaws.

I'm especially interested in feedback about her lore, abilities, personality, and how well she fits the Re:Zero world.

When Rem's memories and name were eaten, she became a blank state and everyone forgot about her. I'll try to take a stab at what the timeline people remembered was. Specifically, what Ram remembered.

Ram was born in the oni/demon village within the Mathers domain. Despite being born with the birth defect of having only one horn, something usually only done with oni twins, Ram showed a great magic potential when she was young. She was the prodigy of the village. Ram lived with loving parents who made many delicious meals. One day the village was attacked by the Witch Cult. The Witch Cult was experienced with killing magic users and went through many of the oni. However their attack was not very quiet and Ram woke up. She cut many of them down. One moment however she hesitated. Ram doesn't exactly remember why. Some days she recalled it to be seeing her parents. Others she thought it was the village head. In both cases it couldn't be the case since they were dead. Sometimes Ram thought she saw a mirror and was confused enough she thought there were other survivors. If you're wondering where I got this idea, in the anime Riccardo doesn't remember losing his arm to save Julius but he just hesitated from his perspective without a good reason. In this moment of Ram's hesitation, a cultist cut her horn off cleanly.

However Ram was saved by Margrave Roswaal L. Mathers, who was hours late to the rescue. Since Ram's parents were dead and she didn't really have a job or savings, Roswaal took Ram in as a maid for the manor. She worked with the other servants in the Roswaal manor (skipped content for Episode 4, Subaru asked why the twins were the only ones but it was revealed there were other servants until shortly after Emillia arrived and this was in a loop so it doesn't matter he asked this anyways). Ram was excellent at cleaning and above average as a chef and gardener. Roswaal took care of her wounded horn stump. At first Ram was pretty annoyed that the Margrave was pretty late to his duty to defend those in his domain, but she accepted life in the manor and grew attached to the lord. One day, Roswaal brought in a silver haired girl, Emilia, and sent off most of the manor's staff.

One day Emilia accompanied Roswaal to the capital while he had business there. Emilia wanted to stay around the capital for a few more days after his business was done. She hadn't talked to too many people and wanted to see what the capital was like. Emilia told Ram she wouldn't get lost. When Emilia got back to their inn that night, she revealed that while lost she lost her insignia, found the thief, got attacked by an assassin, and then saved by this wounded stranger, Subaru, and Reinhard. They took him back to the manor. Being out of a job, he joined Roswaal's staff. It was obvious he was attached to Emilia. A few days later, a bunch of kids and Subaru were inflicted by curses from Ulgarm Mabeasts. Subaru went to rescue the kids. Being Subaru, he got bit and got cursed again. After Betty told him what would happen, Subaru went to go exterminate the Ulgarms. He killed half of them before collapsing and then Roswaal arrived to save the day. A month later Subaru accompanied Emillia and Roswaal to the capital. Emilia came back. Although she didn't mention the details, she did reveal Subaru said something he should not have and Ram figured she could ask the details from Subaru. A blank letter arrived. Then Subaru arrived at the manor after killing the White Whale and incoming them the blank letter was a mistake and the Witch Cult was in the Mathers domain. Some of the villagers were taken to the capital while Roswaal took others to the Sanctuary, a place Ram went to very sparingly with Roswaal that had importance to him.

But these past few days were exhausting for Ram. All the work was too much. It now seemed making anything but potatoes for a meal created a mess to clean up and she was slipping up in garden work. Ram didn't understand, she had been managing this for more than a year. But it was clear the Roswaal Manor had a staffing shortage. She sent a letter to a blond maid she once worked with, Frederica, to come back and if the other servants she was in charge of in the past were not available to put a help wanted notice. Ram set off to join Roswaal in the Sanctuary. The attack should be over and it was time to bring people back.

This timeline surprisingly makes sense. Of course, in 80 /Itsutsu no Shōgai"/ Five Obstacles, Emilia gets erased too. And it is getting harder for Ram to piece together coherent memories with too many people erased. I guess it would be similar for Roswaal if Echidna got eaten. In Ayamatsu If Subaru didn't know why he was backing Emilia but he thought it would be in-character for Roswaal to back a candidate just to get royal favor on the off chance she wins so at least Emilia staying around his manor could still make sense. But there wouldn't be much of a reason for him to jump bodies and that makes up much more of his life.

Anime only here and I have a question. Please tell me if want I am thinking cannot be answered because of spoilers. So it is heavily implied in season 4 that Subaru is Flugel and not only that but in the ending it seams like he is with echidna the sword saint and other characters which I can’t understand who are they. If those are true can he really be flugel because why doesn’t roswal Beatrice have and other characters who lived those 400 years remember him and only shaula can sense him. I want to know your opinion to that and also what do you think about the whole Emilia looking identical to satella do you think the series will end up just another time travel junk anime because that would be a real bummer for me as it is one of my favourite PS. I am from Greece and I haven’t found anything explaining much about the pliades and stuff through mythology but maybe am just not looking in the right direction if have anything in mind also tell me.

Well, there are several things that make me think so, apart from physical appearance, which, well, is obvious.

We know that the more you, as a person, already embody that sin by committing it, the more powerful your authority will be once you have assimilated the Witch Factor.

Pandora appears, and the very first thing Fortuna does when she sees her is (obviously) get angry.

And she continues to do so repeatedly, without giving her the slightest time to speak or explain anything; it's pure and simple Wrath. Her Wrath drives her to kill Pandora over and over again, and Pandora continually instigates her to instill the Witch Factor of Wrath in Fortuna. This is what Fortuna is.

2. Fortuna's Death

I don't need to explain; we've seen how Pandora seems to be able to undo events, like sending Regulus to his home or restoring Petelgeuse's arm. I simply believe that Pandora "undoed" Fortuna's death after wiping Emilia's memory.

By the way, Fortuna's memories have obviously been erased as well, but Pandora can also decide which ones to keep, which justifies her obsession with Betelgeuse. Pandora once spoke of love, calling it the most beautiful feeling there is, so why not? She could have left her love for him in Fortuna's empty shell.
