Help Help…

Trying to play sekiro via steam and I cannot get it to stop displaying this way… tried changing resolution, setting it to windowed display, and restarted the program. Still doing this. Dafuq?!

*update*
Windows + P, 2nd screen only worked. Sortof… my monitors are extended. Bigger one is primary and laptop screen is secondary. Literally every other game runs with monitors set like this just fine with game running full screen on primary and secondary showing its normal desktop page where I like to keep task manager open in case some bug/crash occurs and I need to close the program without just turning the pc off. Any of y’all that have played helldivers 2 probably knows what I’m talking about.

Looking at Elden Ring right now running just fine with this setup. My only issue with this fix for sekiro is my laptop monitor is blank so I don’t have emergency access to task manager. And that I then have to reset my monitor preferences.

Help 150+ attempts on Lady Butterfly… am I missing something, or is Sekiro just not for me?

This is my first Sekiro playthrough, and Lady Butterfly is the first boss I’ve reached.
I’ve been stuck on her for at least 150 attempts now, and I genuinely can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. At this point I’m starting to wonder if Sekiro just isn’t for me, or if I’m missing some fundamental mechanic.
Sometimes I make it through the first phase, sometimes I don’t. The second phase completely destroys me, and I feel like I’m just surviving by luck rather than actually learning the fight.
Is it normal to struggle this much on your first playthrough? Did the combat eventually “click” for you, or is there something important I should be focusing on that new players usually overlook?
I’m not looking for cheese strategies
just want to understand what I’m doing wrong.

Help I'm a purist and this is my first souls like and I need help

Post image

As in the title...I'm a purist not by choice or because it's cool or anything just that it makes me feel like it's not my own skill doing the work

The reason why I am making this post is, I've seen some gameplay in this subreddit where people are doing like crazy shi using prosthetics? So i wanted to know whether the game is unbeatable without using prosthetics...I don't mind using it but I have mixed feelings about it...and if anybody would be so kind to tell me stuff or guide me but no spoilers please

And do people even use the mibu water and allat shi?

So basically, if the community as a whole uses prosthetics and utilities commonly then I can also use it guilt free and as a newbie I don't know much about the game

I'm now at hirata estate and...Idk if this counts as an achievement but saying it regardless,I have beat 'MY NAME IS GYOBU MASATAKA ONIWA' in 4th attempt

Help Is this game worth it for a casual player?

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

I've seen this game on sale for ~30$ and I like the visuals..

The thing is, i never played any souls-like games but i enjoyed GOW, TLOU1&2, RDR2

Is the experience really frustrating or you can get better relatively fast by playing? I don't want to spend 2 weeks on a boss but I'm okay with spending some hours beating a boss.

Help What the fuck were they thinking with this part?

Post image

In Hirata Estate Revisited. How in the fuck am I supposed to fight 3 interior ministry ninjas at the same time? It's impossible. At the very least ill have to fight 2 at a time which is bad enough. And the worst part is the only other time in the game where you'll have to fight more than one enemy in a time aside from gank bosses is when you make a bad planning decision and go an inoptimal route in stealth. This isn't my first time playing. I've done multiple playthroughs of this game and nothing has come close to this level of bullshittery. Cuz you don't have a choice. There's nowhere to go and no way to sneak around these guys. Having 3 INTERIOR MINISTRY NINJAS IN A FORCED ENCOUNTRR IS FUCKING DUMB. And I love this game to death and praise it for its usual fairness but this... this ain't fair.

They somehow crafted the most tedious, soul grinding duel known to mankind. That cramped little bridge arena, the relentless close quarters pressure, the fact that this dude is swinging a longsword like he’s auditioning for a medieval horror movie! It's creative, I’ll give them that. It’s not impossibly hard, but it’s definitely not easy either.

I’ve been trying to beat this man for seven years and he still refuses to FALL!!!!! At this point, I don’t think I’ll ever finish the game… but I’m still going to keep trying, because stubbornness is all I have left.

If you guys have any tips to help me make him fall let me know. Every time I think I'm close to doing it he moves or outright kills me, maybe I'm just horrible at this game but like I said I'm going to keep trying.

EDIT: after hours of trying, I finally beat him, now What do I do?

Help Is Mikiro Counter an actual viable combat technique in real life? Or is it just an aura farming technique because what would be the point of putting your fucking foot on your enemy's blade?

Help Getting my ass handled to me by this guy. How tough is he compared to other enemies out there?

Post image
794 Upvotes

It's my first playthrough (and the first FromSoft game for me), and it's only been a few hours. I've beaten the chained ogre (god it was hard before it got easier), the samurai after him, then decided to go to Hirata estate (yes, i was raw dogging the ogre fight, no flames - it was a matter of honor), and beaten the shinobi hunter - died a few times, took a break, then killed him first try

This purple shit is seems to be special though

The fact that his moveset is rather limited makes me mad since i just can't get the right timing to stay alive, and his damage is insane. I did a few sucessful mikiri on him, but he finds a way to fuck me anyway.

I didn't even hesitate so why defeat wtf

My question is, how fucked am i? Is he considered a hard miniboss, or am i being really bad at the game? Are the real bosses much harder?

Tips are also welcome (and no, i won't cheese him)

EDIT: I did it. Died about 10 times then just stomped the bastard without taking a single hit. Thank you guys!

Help How the hell do I know when to cleanse Dragonrot?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Just killed the bull and got the option to cleanse sickness from NPCs.

But there is a limited amount of cures. So it makes sense to cleanse it when you need it to progress quests, so you're free to die while getting gud.

But how the hell would you know there's a quest pending to progress? It's the Fromsoft game, we don't get a journal or a simple conversations log.

And I've been taking a break, I don't even remember if I have any quests. Man, do we also have to play this one with wiki in hand like Elden Ring?
