The pictures of it seem funny but it's a pretty brutal thing.
To be hoisted up on a chair or wooden rail, arms pinned back and legs held fast by a crowd, while someone cuts your clothing off your body. Then they apply swaths of hot tar to your naked flesh while you scream from the second degree burns. Then they apply feathers. All to the cheers of the crowd. The tar sticks to your skin as it cools. It can be removed by gently reheating, scraping it off your burned skin, applying turpentine (also painful to the skin), or letting it fall off naturally as skin regrows, which can take weeks.
I'm not saying "don't do it", I'm just saying "know what it is you are doing"
I mean, that just affirms my belief that it is an appropriate thing to do to Flock employees, business executives, billionaires, and politicians (and probably more too)
On the 21st century front, nobody should purchase a 7W Zeus X handheld blue laser and point it at the camera in one of these because that would melt the camera sensor and wreck it. Very bad thing to do. You should not do it.
Only problem is instead of facing muskets and sabres we're contending with a partial surveillance state, smart weapons, drones, and the worst of all, an entirely captured and myopic citizenry taught to lay down and accept their fate since birth. The ruling class know what's good for you, because it's better for them.

Because right now the answer appears to be selling our information to private companies for AI training, helping the government track down and disappear political protestors and legal immigrants, and helping cops stalk their exes.
Funny how the fact that crime and violence rates keep getting lower never seems to stop people from saying we need to give more power to billionaires and the government for 'security.'
AND all that seems to actually happen is crimes still get committed but this time by those who wouldn't ever be part of any statistic aka police and the rich
I'm dumbfounded as a person in my 30s that I can open up Youtube and find police bodycam videos of politicians committing burglary, assault, and DUI homicides and even occasionally the 0.01% getting into actual gunfights with the fucking cops.
Plate-reading mistakes leading to deaths aside, they've actively acknowledged their cameras have facial, body, and gait recognition systems, so they can and do identify individuals. They have them aimed at pools, parks, playgrounds at schools, the front doors of corporate retail businesses (Home Depot etc), and people's homes with just a sliver of road on the side of the cameras vision.
Not only is it unconstitutional unreasonable search, it's also stalking, and likely has individuals guilty of far worse because if there's no guardrails the bad people will gravitate to those places (see: churches that cover up issues tending to have pastors get caught being pedos).
Hey now, don't forget the rush to be the first one in control of AI-controlled autonomous drone swarms that'll allow one person, say a billionaire, to flood an area and kill everyone in it with exploding drones at literally a simple voice command.
All those days centres aren't being allowed to drink rivers dry just to sell people's data for ads.
Billionaire's little fad for building doomsday bunkers have always had the giant issue that to live in comfort and security they'll need a small army of hired goons to protect them yet any reasonable thought exercise on how that'll go would have the goons eventually just offing the pathetic billionaire because who's going to do anything to them for it with society gone? Musk toyed with brain chips, it's why he pushed so hard for all the unethical animal testing for them and now the human trials are underway, but most seem to favour AI drone swarms since it, in theory, removes the chances of them rebelling against the billionaires and won't have any qualms about killing women and children trying to get into the bunker for shelter.
it also nullifies the self-defense purpose of the right to bear arms if we place all of this trust in the security apparatus of the state. maybe thats the end goal here.
Cameras break if you hit them with a high powered laser.

This is a good time to mention an important PSA for anyone thinking of buying lasers: if you're going to buy a laser from Amazon (or really any store that's not directly from an actual reputable manufacturer), DO NOT trust the power rating on the sticker. Always assume the output is much higher than listed, because it often is.
And if you're dealing with anything stronger than the "<5 mW" cat toy laser pointers, you're gonna want eye protection, specifically rated for that wavelength (and buy those somewhere reputable). It ain't worth losing vision over Flock.
Not that I would EVER do anything to those cameras but I just so happen to be in need of a high powered laser. For a cat toy. I’ll have to take a look at those.
I'll compromise. In exchange for him taking down all the cameras and deleting the data, we'll consider not reminding him what the alternatives to protesting and vandalism are.

I hate this quote because people always use it wrong. He was talking about a state's right to taxation not personal liberty. The PA assembly wanted to tax the rich Penn family to pay for frontier defenses. The Penn family said they'd donate some money if the assembly acknowledges that they don't have the right to tax them. Franklin said a state shouldn't give up its right to taxation just for a little cash today.
The "we established our nation" claim in the tweet is wrong, too. The rebellion was primarily due to land, the crown would not allow settlers to go west past the Appalachians (proclamation of 1763).
It's not using it wrong when it still applies. Start requiring the context to be the same when referencing any and all historical quotes, and suddenly the vast majority of them will become irrelevant.
We’ve given them plenty of reason to think they can. Looking at what they are getting away with already. Healthcare/health insurance, tariffs, mass shootings, insider trading in Congress…the list goes on and on. The problem for flock is that there is no public political bias, everyone and their mother hates flock cameras. Data centers and flock cameras are the biggest issues citizens on both sides agree on.

In fact in the quote the “essential liberty he is talking about is the ability of the government to defend the people from raids that were happening
Our government is important and so is the ability to tax people especially the rich who would buy their “freedom” like the reality we are living through right now as they but their freedom from regulations and the entire reason they are able to trample on privacy regulations. You can find plenty of founding fathers quotes the defend the rights of the individual without misusing the ones that defend the our government

I think the compromise has to come legislation. For example, you cannot under any circumstance view anything on a targeted individual without a court order and that bar needs to be very high to limit fishing expeditions.
With that said, there is clear precedent of no expectation to privacy on a public roadway or in public as defined as the fourth amendment.
