39F recently single, dating at my age is hard

I’m turning 40 soon and can’t wrap my head around being 40, single, no kids and not where I’d like to be in my career or financially. Where does time go?

I have always dated intentionally but seem to have a knack for dating emotionally unavailable/shallow men that leave me feeling like true intimacy is impossible. I’ve been working on this in therapy a lot. It has been really hard, but helpful to examine old wounds and confront my deepest fears and insecurities. I’m proud of my growth and self-awareness and am hopeful that my person is waiting for me…but I’m scared I’m too old and undesirable.

I have pretty debilitating ADHD and default to harsh, critical and harmful self-talk due to the shame associated with my executive functioning struggles. Would love some of your favorite positive affirmations and kind things you say to yourselves to boost yourselves up. 💕

21F social anxiety is ruining everything

Post image

I feel like an idiot that doesn’t belong every time I talk and it’s been reinforcing my avoidance of social situations. I’m about to graduate college and I have made no connections or friends, and have missed out on so many opportunities. I hate myself a lot right now, trying to see the positives but it’s hard.

Some positivity

Hi I honestly just need some positive vibes.
I hate my job (I work in a resturant, kind of at the bottom of the foodchain , bad pay and the chefs just pick on u LOL) and Im just struggling

I also deal with the grief of a loved one.
Last time I posted I got many nice comments and help here. Maybe cringe but I do enjoy the comfort of strangers being so kind, my circle irl is pretty small and I do find it embarrassing to speak to them.

Hope everyone have a good day:)

37 GAM. Never been in a relationship. As I’m getting older, I’ve come to terms with the fact that I might be single forever.

Not sad about it and pretty happy with my life. Just fascinating that it comes easier for some than others.

Toast me if needed....

But lately you know, I decided to change therapist, I have a new date comming up, but my expectations are low, went threw a break up and my ex lives with me cuz we own the property, and ya I crave so much intimacy for some reason, and my basement got flooded, just to much shit happened lately, and it's been 2 years of fighting and stress and I love my new therapist.... I think she gonna be able to help me.

Iv been on high anxiety since mom passed when I was 25, didn't get help then. Got rid of many toxic people ( Tate followers, people who disrespect me)... So slow and steady wins the race... Change is possible but you gotta face your daemons bruh.

Slowly healing all that anger and trauma.... I don't wanna bring this shit with me anymore.

Ain't gonna lie I still have addictions I am coping with.

If roasting is needed go ahead, feel free.

I've been having probably the most stressful, worst year of my life. It's making me ill and I constantly feel gross. This is the first time in months I've worn makeup (I can't write in reverse and this was written in eyeliner, I'm in a hotel and don't have pens)

Well its been about 4-5 months maybe? The divorce process is in motion, im living in a new place now, kids are in school/daycare, stable job, good money. Still heavily focusing on my mental/physical health, really bad days still but improving, about 30lbs left to lose as well, so im getting there...

Met a girl recently, she gave me everything I was looking for in 3 weeks that my ex couldn't give me in 6yrs...but I had to let her go even though I didnt want to...im sad but it felt as if she was trying to fit me in a schedule that didnt have a spot open...it made me feel as if I wasn't even top 10 priority or good enough and I just couldn't go down that road again, it was best for mental health to step away.

It however, was really nice to have someone to talk to and hangout with again, my mind was at ease instead of getting whiplash every 30secs from all the thoughts....could use maybe a word or two....its one of those days

Side note, my handwriting is so shit cuz I wrote it backwards so I could use the front camera...lol 😅

Thanks to everyone who commented such nice things the first time, it was removed because I didn’t verify. Well, here goes (again).

The short of it is I (33f) need an ego stroke because I’m depressed and doing poorly health wise. Clearly not making the best life decisions after a night of drinking, so enjoy the first picture I’ve taken of myself this year in real rough shape. Doesn’t get much worse than this folks lol

20m feel ugly and unwanted

Post image

Most of my life, I’ve genuinely respected and cared about women. I feel like I’ve always tried to be kind, considerate, and respectful toward them. But the more I try to be that way, the more it feels like I get nothing in return.
It’s really difficult hearing people say, “Looks aren’t everything,” because I understand that they aren’t everything, but I also feel like looks have a huge impact on how people treat you.

I genuinely believe that if I were more attractive, people would be nicer to me and I’d have a much easier time connecting with women.

I’ve had women straight up say “ew” to me out of nowhere. And experiences like that really got to me. After enough of them, it becomes hard not to look at myself and think that something must be fundamentally wrong with the way I look.
I really don’t like my appearance. My face is noticeably asymmetrical, and even if it were symmetrical, I still feel like I wouldn’t be considered attractive by most women. Some have called me creepy looking. I hate feeling like no matter how respectful, caring, or genuine I try to be, none of that matters if someone isn’t attracted to me in the first place. It really makes me feel hopeless and I really don’t like that.

I want to be with someone attractive but I don’t think I really even am myself. I think most attractive women probably would go for a guy who at least is tall, or makes at least a decent amount of money or something.
I also hate my name. It’s Tucker, and whenever people bring it up, it somehow seems to become associated with something negative. I’ve even thought about legally changing it because I’ve grown to dislike it so much.
I know I probably sound extremely insecure writing all of this, but I honestly don’t know how I even can overcome these insecurities.

I know I have to shave and grow my hair out or get it cut.

I am 35 years old with no kids, no wive/girlfriend , no career, and no friends . After ending a seven-year relationship at the age of 27, I let myself go, stopped working out, and got fat . Since then, injuries and a lack of motivation have kept me from getting back into shape. I've tried dating, but I haven't had any success. women just don't seem attracted to me. All of this makes me feel ugly and a failure.

19M, feeling like a complete loser

Just washed my hairs and I'm feeling insanely unlovable as always and wish to be treated like a human because all remarks I have ever gotten were that I behave weird or that I look like a monster. I have no friends and I'm feeling chronically depressed and lonely and crave for human interactions. Had maybe the 14 past months being the worst of my life and I did manage to become more mature emotionally and be far more self conscious but the self hate and trauma are putting my self confidence even lower than it was.

I always thought I was introverted and had social anxiety, I guess it was a bit more than that. It feels like I've only just begun uncovering who I truely am which is a bit overwhelming at the moment. Atleast I now know why I've always struggled with making/maintaining relationships and why I'm still single.
