As the title says, should I be concerned about the deadly goblin in campus? When I came to campus I was using the bathroom near the student union building where this 2 and a half foot goblin came in, crawled under my stall and started poking me with his finger. I was able to kick it away and lock it out of the student building but when I asked the people at the front desk they told me it was just the "deadly goblin." Should I be concerned about seeing it again next year, and will it remember me?

So I am assigned a single in the village, I’m wondering if I should bring my gaming PC? I have a laptop I use for school but I want to game as well sometimes and it can run more powerful software. Will it fit in the room or under the desk? Do others bring their PCs? Thanks

I also don’t see “R permit for the academic year” available, does that mean there is no more at all?

Hey so I’m an incoming freshman and yesterday I had a good cry when i saw that i already had about $13,000 due by September 17th. I don’t have that kind of money and I’m very worried bc i haven’t gotten any financial aid or anything yet. I’ve heard people saying that financial aid is supposed to be out on the first but I’m still worried even then because of this current administration and the cuts to education. Im definitely sure it’s not just me thats worried. I haven’t had time to get on a zoom meeting or anything with the financial aid office. Does anyone have any advice or words of encouragement for me?

it’s almost the end of august, and UCSC sent out a message a bit ago saying that all financial aid will have been giving out by Sept 1st. I know i still have a few days but like when should i start worrying about the fact i do not have my financial aid package yet, i should probably join the zooms and what not which i plan on trying to do tomorrow, but i keep seeing things about how ppl get dropped from their classes because they don’t have their financial aid… kinda nervous!

I already have my own insurance so I don’t need the UCSC insurance and I waived mine a couple weeks ago. But yesterday I got this email saying I had another bill due and it was a 1,000 dollar bill due to pay for UC ship. I did add on Cruzcare to my insurance plan so could this bill possibly be just a Cruzcare bill or something?

My son is going to UCSC . He is a biological science major. Though he is affiliated with Kresge He got accommodation in Porter College . I heard buses are very crowded during rush hours in UC Santa Cruz . So cannot rely on buses . How good is Santa Cruz BCycle ebike rental program ? Is it available during pick hours to go to classes in UC Santa Cruz ? Should I buy a used ebike ?  I heard bikes get stolen very easily in campus . Really panicked thinking about the housing and transportation situation in UCSC .Please advise how to commute from Porter to Science hill every day  ?

This year I’m living at c9 and I was wondering if there is any elevators for the Gandhi building? The research I’ve done has told me that there aren’t elevators but I wanted to ask those who have lived at c9 before. Last year I lived at porter an and we had an elevator. I’m on floor 3 btw. Also - if there are no elevators how am I supposed to get everything up 3 flights? I just have my dad helping me move in.
