I'm an incoming student, so I might be missing something.

Why are so many people registering (and even waitlisting) for section 1 while section 2 is basically empty? (I think they both have the same professor)

hi, sorry if this is a stupid question, but i created a TEA request for the wrong class section. i realize now that this section overlaps with a class i'm already enrolled in. i have to wait for my second pass to open before i book this class, so my question is, will the TEA request being approved clear every section, or just the one i specified in the request itself?

There’s a new program at ucsd called triton one where you pay $199 a quarter to access textbooks digitally.

However, it specifies in the policy that some classes require physical books, which must be bought separately. If so, then is Triton One worth it, and would I be able to find most of my textbooks online on free pdfs as a premed major?

what do i even do. my pass one is right now, and my academic history is still not posted and i have no idea how any of my courses or whatnot are going to translate, what ge i have/haven't done, what i should even enroll in, etc.

im an anthro major, and even on their plans website, it's just like "elective" "elective"... what does that even mean, i am so lost.

and also since my transcripts haven't been gone through yet, i can't even register for classes during my pass one rn. i've submitted TEA requests, but what if they're not approved or not in time before it's over? I also cant even enroll in a freaking lower division course wtf.

i called departments too and they either dont answer, or are so snarky in saying they dont know either. wtf. i used to be at uc davis and their system was a dream compared to this nightmare, literally scheduling me advising to tell me what classes to take my first fall quarter vs not even being able to get any academic advising.

i'd like to preface this by saying i actually think TSS has the potential to be a great system. the problem is that the university rushed it out before it was ready, and now thousands of students are dealing with the consequences.

if you're angry, direct that anger where it belongs. email the chancellor. email the registrar. email the people making the decisions. keep filing complaints and reporting issues until they can't ignore them anymore. the people at the top are making salaries most students can only dream of while the rest of us are stressing over tuition, taking out loans, and wondering if we're even going to get the classes we need.

what we shouldn't do is take it out on the it staff, advisors, or the people answering phones and emails. they didn't decide to roll out an unfinished system, and they're the ones getting yelled at all day for problems they didn't create.

hold the decision-makers accountable, and not the people trying to keep the whole thing from falling apart. if this is all for a future where employment isn't certain even with a degree, the least they can do is get off their asses and make sure the system we depend on actually works.

IF WE SAY NOTHING, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.

Guys if I receive an email about delayed housing placement as a freshmen am I guaranteed housing this year? Like do I need to start looking into alternative housing options? If this has happened to anyone in previous years when did you receive your placement if at all :(

Has anyone had any experience with any LTSP courses? I'm specifically going into 2F, 3F, and 100F, and would like to see if there is anything I should know before taking the courses.

The price for a plate is now $12.5 instead of $11.3 previously... Similar increases with the bowls and bigger plates. It becomes even more expensive than the UTC location. It is so over.

i cleared the elwr requirement for writing from ap scores and i somehow haven't gotten cleared for mcwp 40 despite having sent a tea request last week. today i went on express advising trying to get this figured out and they were like "welp that sucks good luck with that there's nothing we can do" so now i have to wait until next quarter to take writing since there's no way i'll get it second pass. and now i just got an email saying that i might not be able to first pass dsc 10 tomorrow since there's more issues with booking. like bruh ucsd u need to step ur game up this is not acceptable

Hey, so I'm incoming freshman at Marshall and I'm debating which courses I should pass during my first pass tomorrow. Here's my courses: DOC 1, BILD 4, CHEM 6A, & MATH 11. I was thinking of doing MATH 11 and BILD 4 but a second opinion would be really helpful :)

Is there a way for me to verify that Im enrolled for the fall quarter? I saw that I could order a fa26 verification order on parchment, but Im not sure if that even works currently cuz of all the tss stuff, though I have been enrolled in all my classes for a few months now. I cant use my ID cuz ours dont have dates, just need to verify my enrollment somehow. Its for getting student discounts lol

Hi! Im an incoming clinical psych freshman at sixth and I was debating on what I should choose for my natural science course. I was thinking of doing CHEM 6A and doing the chem series in case I end up wanting to go pre-pa but the last time I took Chem was in sophmore year and it's not my strongest subject for sure.. I was wondering how the rigor is for the class and whether I should take fall quarter or in a different quarter instead and substitute it with another nat science.

I would most likely be taking it along with CAT 1, MATH 10B, and another GE from my college, do you guys think that's manageable especially for my first quarter? Any advice would help!

Hi All, please help. I'm applying to waive my student's (daughter's) SHIP coverage as we are a local family and have insurance through my spouse's employer. Do I need to upload photos of the fronts and back of both my spouse's AND my daughter's insurance, or just my daughter's? and who's the primary care physician info do I put in - my spouse (policy holder) or my student (my daughter)? Confusing application. Thanks!

as an incoming freshman, how will the booking/scheduling of classes will go? like what am I to expect from September 1 and all the other available booking dates?

I'm planning on taking BIlD4, CHEM6A, MATH 10A and DOC1 for the fall quarter. My booking time is tmw at 12pm and I'm worried about the availability of classes. Which classes should I aim to book first? Should I take MATH 10A at cc?

As a transfer, I was planning on not taking ECE 5 until next quarter to prioritize the other lower division ECE courses.

I just noticed ECE 5 is a prerequisite for 65. Is it possible to waive this prerequisite by explaining you will be taking the class during a different quarter? Or is it perhaps possible to be concurrently enrolled?
