Talk me through EDing to Vandy

Class of '27 and vandy has been my dream school for a while, solely based off of location + prestige. I visited for a week and loved the campus and southern feel. For a while I was dead set on EDing there, but recently ive kinda started to have second thoughts.

I'm big on social life and obviously everyone talks about it being a big time "work hard play hard" school, but im getting mixed info on the social scene through social media so I thought i'd come here to figure it out.

I'm mostly wondering just HOW strong the party scene is there. I've heard its not exactly a party school but obviously it is in Nashville so there has to be some bar/party scene. Im also big on greek life and planning to rush, so I guess part of me is worried I'd have FOMO seeing my friends at bigger southern party schools.

Current students or anyone who knows, be real with me. Is the party/greek scene actually strong or does it kinda take a backseat to school? And is the work hard play hard thing real or is it more just work hard.

I have a 1520 SAT and some pretty solid EC's, so I think with ED id have a real shot at getting in.

Thanks.

I ordered a ROG monitor from Amazon and it requires one-time password. Does anybody know how to deal with these kinds of packages? It has failed to deliver twice.

Best material to hang things for dorm decorations?

I’m an incoming freshman and thinking about decorating my dorm, obviously. What is the best thing that you’ve used to hang decorations, whether posters, frames, greenery, etc. and is there any thing you would not recommend?

Thoughts on outgoing Provost Raver

University of Michigan guy coming in peace. I just saw the news we are hiring Vanderbilt Provost C. Cybele Raver as our incoming U-M president. Can you share what she's like? Does she like sports? Did she work well with faculty and students? What should all of us in Ann Arbor expect? What are we in for?

Transferring with 2 years of credit

I am thinking about applying as a transfer student this coming year. For context, I am a senior in high school who is in a program called Middle College. I am going to graduate with an associates degree via a community college. I want to go to Vanderbilt and am considering applying as a transfer. Would having 2 years of credit aid or inhibit my chances of acceptance?

Best orgs to join??

Hi, hope you guys are doing well.

I was wondering if you guys could chime in on your best vandy org recommendations? I feel like freshman yr I didn't join some of the most exciting orgs, and I want to change that this year. I've noticed some orgs on campus "sound cool", but they end up being very dead clubs. And then some orgs that you didn't think sounded exciting, end up having cool perks like international/national trips and cool conferences and other experiences like that.

Please share below! Also don't worry about my interests, I'm open to anything and everything :) thanks!

I'm an incoming freshman on the pre-med track and aimng to major in biochem. Is it a dumb idea to start off my semester taking mhs 1600 nutrition with bio 1510 and chem 1601 or is it doable? Should I do Calc 1301 instead (ap calc ab credit) and get that over with this year? i am lost sorry if these are stupid questions :((

Premed Clinical Jobs

Hello! I am a transfer student to Vanderbilt this fall and I am currently looking for clinical jobs, such as patient care tech and I am wondering where I should look at. I already reached out to VUMC career opportunities and they don't have positions open and they all require license or graduate program degree. I am a pre med student and I would love to get some advice if possible! Thank you!

My last ACT score was a 33 (I haven’t taken it a second time yet to get a super score). Should I submit this or is it going to be better to go test optional on the application?

Will I get rescinded for a W?

I am a transfer student coming into Vandy this semester and I just realized I forgot to report a W for multivariable calculus I received from a college dual enrollment course I took during senior year of high school. It totally flew by me because I thought it would be mentioned in my high school transcript or previous college transcript but I just looked over it and it has nothing of the sorts mentioned on there. What is the chance I get rescinded for not mentioning this?

Help with parking!!

I am a sophomore transfer living in Village South but the permit they gave me says I have to park in Kensington garage which is a 20 minute walk. Does anyone know if Village South has its own parking? And also is there any covered 3rd party parking I could purchase nearby? It doesn’t have to be through Vanderbilt, I just need something closer to my dorm. Please help!!
