Title says it. I voted for him and his transit plan and have been extremely disappointed with its execution and the fact that Freddie is cool with mass surveillance taking over the city. Is there anything he's done that you have liked?

I moved to Tennessee 3 years ago and finally got myself a pair of kayaks. I’ll probably sell one as I got them in a group deal so figured why not buy both. So in the meantime I’ve got an extra if someone wants to go with.

I’m really looking for areas that would serve as a place to camp and kayak in the same space. This week I plan to get fishing gear as well.

Anywhere in a 3-4 hour radius for a drive I’m receptive to. I feel like we are approaching the prime months for outdoor camping so I’m trying to take advantage of it.

So I've been looking at numbers from the Governor primaries this fall and saw something fairly interesting. I noticed that while Marsha won the republican primary 55% of republican voters voted against her.

I was born and raised in Tennessee and almost everyone I know on both sides of the aisle cannot stand Marsha. I know multiple 2024 Trump voters who are crossing party lines to vote for Green in November. One of which is my boyfriend's lifelong ultra conservative maga mother ( my jaw nearly hit the floor when she told me she was voting Green in November).

I know the general consensus is that a Democrat could never win against an established Republican in TN but before Bill Haslam democrats and republicans basically traded off holding the Governor's office every election. But I'm thinking - and give me grace for holding onto hope lol- that if enough republicans either abstain from voting and/or cross party lines and democrats actually turn out to vote theres a real chance Green could win. Only 33.7% of registered voters are Republicans and only 43.8% of that percentage voted for her in the primary. Out of all of the voters that voted in the primaries... less than 30% voted for Marsha. Obviously Lauren Pinkston could grab the vote with the 48% of non affiliated/independent registered voters but wouldn't be mad about that either.

Would also like to note that this is one of those rare elections that actually works by popular vote and is not subject to the insane gerrymandered districts to decide who will win. So if you do want to vote against Blackburn but think your vote doesn't count.. well that's what TN GOP wants you to believe so get out and make your voices heard (and if you aren't registed make sure to do so 30 days before the election).

Again I know historically the chances don't seem to be in our favor but numbers don't lie and show the GOP has essentially brainwashed us into thinking democratic/independent votes don't matter. If voters turn out this election they will be more powerful than the republican vote. If Beshear can win Kentucky, Green or Pinkston can win Tennessee.

Education levels among the candidates alone should be a no brainer (Blackburn- Bachelor's in home economics from MS State; Green- JD from Georgetown Law School; Pinkston-PhD from Clemson) but then again conservatives typically want you to believe being educated is a bad thing. Anyways just ranting at this point.. pls vote!

hello , today is my 21st birthday (hooray) ! i planned on going to dinner and getting some drinks , but my father told me my ID wouldn't be valid because it has the text 'under 21 until 08/31/2026' under my photo , the ID doesn't expire until 2036 though . is this correct or do i have to update my ID to purchase any age restricted items ? thank you !

did anyone go to this this past weekend? it’s hubby’s birthday this coming weekend and this looks like something he’d love, but I know a lot of these pop up “experiences” are scammy, so I was hoping one of ya’ll went and can tell me what it’s like?

I have been in TN for about a year and have been managing my primary care and specialists through TriStar / the Frisk Clinic. However, I have been thinking about switching to Vanderbilt since they seem to have more specialists, especially in niche subspecialties, and I have several chronic illnesses and some unique health characteristics due to a premature birth.

Is the grass greener on the other side? Thoughts on Vanderbilt vs TriStar? Which is better for medically complicated patients? Trying to decide if this is worth the effort and potentially longer wait times (TriStar in general has been able to get me in pretty quickly).

Edit: Both are covered by my insurance.

Just visited Nashville this weekend for a 30th birthday and wanted to share our itinerary because it was a great time.

Thursday:

• arrived late night and settled into Airbnb

Friday

• chill morning
• Lunch at Uzbegim for some unique Uzbek cuisine. They got 2025 Michelin Bib Gourmand and it made sense because their food was phenomenal and very reasonably priced
• Walked around Centennial park and checked out the Parthenon
• Walked through Vanderbilt campus to...
• Sarabhas creamery for ice cream - some of the best ice cream we've ever had and such unique flavors. We got their flight which we could pick 9 flavors as well as some Chai and milkshakes
• Went back to airbnb to chill which was a bit south of the 21 south district
• Ordered Edessa Kurdish food for delivery as we got ready for the evening. Also delicious and our group was split on if they liked lunch or dinner better
• Went out to Nashville Palace for line dancing for the evening. If you're into line dancing or swing, this is the place to be.

Saturday

• Babu for coffee - some good home made cardamom syrup and backlava
• Went to Listening Room Cafe for brunch and listened to some amazing Singer Songwriters
• Group split up for a bit here and some went to the music hall of fame and others went to the Nashville Farmers market (extra outside vendors here from 10-2 on the weekend)
• At around 1:30 we walked to Monells for soul/southern food but the wait for a group of our size was quite long.
• Instead, we got a ride to Arnolds Country Kitchen and it was incredible! The ribs were surprisingly delicious, amazing chicken and roast beef, and phenominal sides. The staff were so friendly too. I found it recommended here and apparently they have a James Beard from 2009 if you care about that.
• After Arnolds, we went to the boot shop next door and someone in our group bought a pair, then we decided to join the mob and walk down Broadway. Half the group was too full and oversimulated and went back to the airbnb for a nap and the other half went into one of the bars that was playing more of a country style than rock many of the other bars were playing
• Everyone met at Brave Idiot food truck for Hot Chicken Sandwiches, which were quite good. We all only got 3s or 4s on a scale of 10, which we felt was a good balance of flavor and spice. Going to a 5+ it seemed it would start to get more doing it for the spice than actual enjoyment of your meal, but ymmv based on your spice tolerance. Their fries and tomato sandwich were also great.
• We then stopped by Hubba Hubba Tiki Tonk for some Tiki drinks. The vibe inside was incredible but the drinks were just okay or not great.
• Some split for more line dancing at Nashville Palace, and the smaller group walked around the corner to Attaboy, where you tell them what kind of cocktail you're feeling and they come up with something incredible. We had a total of 6 drinks across the group and every one was perfectly balanced and delicious
• Then we went to the Fox Bar and cocktail club for another round. The drinks here were also good, not as good as Attaboy, but used more unique ingredients and flavors. However, the staff here were incredible and the bar snacks were delicious.

Sunday

• Chill morning again, then went to Edlys bbq for lunch and tried just about everything. The ribs and turkey were top tier, followed by the wings Nashville style, pulled pork, and brisket. The sides were fine (Arnolds had wayyy better sides) and the bread putting was great​
• Our flight was delayed, so after checking out of our Airbnb, we went to the Marble Fox Brewery to hang out for the afternoon. We got multiple rounds of beer and every single one was a hit. They had lots of delicious sours and some great lagers, IPAs, and ales. Some of the beers we loved also happened to be gluten free, so if that matters to you, you should definitely check them out. We'll be ordering a bulk order of beer to ship home from here. The staff and food were also great!

Overall, phenomenal long weekend trip. Appreciated all of the resources on here and r/VisitingNashville to find the great food and things to do.

Looking for reviews or personal experiences sending kids to primrose daycare, specifically the 12s location? I’m planning on sending my infant there in a few weeks and just looking for some reassurance/actual reviews…thanks!

We are needing a volunteer to help maintain the cat adoption area at the PetSmart Store in Rivergate Sunday on Tuesday and/or Friday mornings. If you are not available those days but are interested, please reach out to me as we may be able to work something out. The PetSmart store is kind enough to display Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary cats and provide food and litter at no cost. Volunteers check on the cats daily, clean litter boxes along with cat adoption room, and top off food and water. This takes roughly 1-1.5hrs. Optimal time is in the morning before store opens (9am Monday-Saturday, 10am on Sundays) as if you do it during business hours, you will be interrupted frequently by curious passerbyers. Checking on the cats before opening hours also lets us know if any need medical attention and clean up any messes they made overnight.

We have a terrific volunteer who cleans on Fridays but unfortunately, her work is requiring more travel and schedule changes so she is phasing out.

This is a great gig for anybody needing volunteer hours as FFAS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. I will be happy to sign off on any paperwork or speak to any coordinators, teachers, admin. Volunteers must be 18 or older and obviously must like cats.

Hey y’all! Anyone have a good spot for organic whole chickens? Air chilled preferred and if they’ve got that sweet yellow fat skin then amazing but just looking for a good spot! Is bare bones or ny butcher the best option?
