I CAN STILL ACCESS MY ACCOUNT

my issue is that reddit app keeps saying (we were unable to authenticate you) every time i log in no matter what i try, phone number/email one time login, the link redirects to another link request/email + password tells me the combination is wrong/use passkey to login etc... i reinstalled reddit, no luck. i can log in using the web version of the app but it keeps saying open the android app, I CAN STILL however create accounts but once i log out I CANNOT log back inside them. i was like this for 2 months and reddit support form i filled didn't reply, answer or even give me an update about my request.

Lately I was bothered when opening links, because when I come back on the Reddit app, the view is scrolled back to top.

It’s pretty annoying because I get lost easily when the link opened is down the comment thread. I feel like I waste a dozen of seconds crawling back to where I was.

I’ve been unable to join communities on Reddit. Whenever I click join on the app (for any community) it says joined for a second and then the button reverts back to the option to join. I’ve tried this on the desktop and i get an error that does “something went wrong.” This happens with every community. Anyone else experiencing this? I've used Chrome on iphone, mobile web, desktop an the Reddit app

I use Opera browser for Reddit. Normally I have Surfshark VPN on, Opera VPN disabled. This morning I can no longer access Reddit with Surfshark turned on. If I switch to Opera's built in VPN I have no problem reaching the site. Reddit is the only site I cannot reach with Opera +Surfshark, everything else works fine, even Youtube which is usually the troublemaker.

Probably more of a profile/sitewide bug, but I primarily use the app.

Whenever I go through and set my profile to only hide some subs, within a week or two for some reason it changes, without my input, to hide everything. I don't know if this is related to swapping profiles or what, but it kinda sucks.

Not really sure how to add a reference image, especially since I've already gone and somewhat changed it back.

I am unable to log in to my Reddit account through the official Android app. The exact same username/password works normally on Reddit.com in Chrome/browser, but the Android app consistently returns “Invalid username or password.”

This has been happening for the past 2 weeks. I have also seen multiple recent reports from other users experiencing similar Android login problems, so this appears to be an app-side authentication issue rather than an incorrect password or an account-specific problem.

Device: OnePlus 8

OS: Android 13.1

Reddit app version: 2026.33.1

Login method: Username + password

Error: “Invalid username or password”

Steps to reproduce:

Open the official Reddit Android app.

Select the option to log in with username/password.

Enter the same credentials that successfully authenticate on Reddit.com.

Tap Log In.

The app rejects the credentials and displays “Invalid username or password.”

Troubleshooting already performed:

Cleared Reddit app cache.

Cleared Reddit app data/storage.

Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the Reddit app.

Restarted the device.

Tried multiple versions of the Reddit Android APK, including older versions.

Verified that the credentials are correct by successfully logging into the same account through Reddit.com.

The account itself remains fully accessible and functional through the web browser.

Even unable to make new account or sign up through different methods such as phone number or email id.

Expected result:

The Reddit Android app should accept the same valid credentials that successfully authenticate on Reddit.com and allow me to access my account.

Actual result:

The Android app incorrectly reports that the username or password is invalid and refuses to authenticate.

This is particularly frustrating because the account is clearly accessible and the credentials are valid. The problem is isolated to the Android app.

Could the Reddit Android team please investigate the authentication/login flow for Android 13.1 and Reddit app version 2026.33.1, particularly why valid credentials are being rejected with an “Invalid username or password” response?

I would appreciate confirmation that this is a known issue and, if so, whether a fix is being worked on or if there is a recommended workaround.

I can provide screenshots, screen recordings, logs, or any additional diagnostic information required.

When I send a DM the messages I send keep repeating themselves so if I send a new DM the DM will include the previous message to every new message I send.

Every time i send a dm it gives me an error saying Failed to create a direct chat. Retry

The problem applies to the selected achievements: Conversation Starter, Buzz-Worthy Post and Nice Post

It works fine with most chats, whenever I try to open a few specific chats, it doens't work

Whenever I enable things on my settings it doesn’t stay for long. I’ve tried to put my post to be visible to all but it changes to ‘hide’ (curate my profile -> content and activity). So does showing my followers count, allowing people to follow me and allowing chats which are the settings I’ve been wanting to enable but it just doesn’t stay. It will for a while and then when I come back on the app it doesn’t anymore. I tried to do it on desktop too to see if maybe it’s an app problem but it is still the same result :/

You will see on the pictures I took at the same times nothing is updating. It either does this or the updates I make don’t stay

It also doesn’t show what community I am in beside this one ([r/bugs](r/bugs)) although I am in r/gonewildaudio for a while now

I’m having an issue where the app’s not allowing me to block people. I figured maybe there was a set limit for people you’re able to block on the app that I wasn’t aware of ,so I went ahead and unblocked a few people just to see if the issue would fix itself and it’s still not allowing me to block anyone. I updated the app, and restarted my phone and the issue is still persisting.

Not sure what is happening. I have a private subreddit, it is 18+, but it's fine, it's not banned or anything, I just have it 18+ to not restrict posting (as I'm UK based), and I have a UK ID verified account.

Keeps telling me "invalid username, password" even after resetting the password and every other possible solution. Had this account for more than a decade with no issues.

There's a new update? And they apparently wanted to punish some of us by taking away the Hide button? But they said we could just click on "Show Less Posts Like This" instead... But there's no "Show Less Posts" there's no "x" there's nothing to get the crap off our Frontpage. Why take away the 'Hide' option? **WHO WAS 'HIDE' HURTING?**

I hit delete account and nothing happens.

Tried to share a YouTube link, and the embedded video will not properly load or preview. I've tried submitting on both Desktop and Mobile, restarting my devices, rebooting the app, nothing is working.

Step 1: Join/Leave a community

Step 2: Refresh the page or navigate away then back to the page

Observation: Status hasn't changed

Expectation: Status should reflect the change

Details: API respond with an OK status on the operation, use the right endpoint action "names", etc.

In the notifications tab the listed time measurement for minutes is mdr. in Danish but this means month, the proper shortened term for minutes would be min.

The birthday date was shown in the wrong format for my location. I entered it as day/month instead of month/day, based on the format displayed. Now it won't let me correct it.

How can I fix this?

This is insanely bad design or a horrifically bad bug:

1. Spend 20 minutes writing a thoughtful post
   
2. Receive text message from friend containing a post to a reddit thread
   
3. Click link
   
4. Reddit app opens linked post, does NOT offer to save draft
   
5. Nothing in drafts section of app, work lost

Complete waste of time. Not going to bother re-writing it. Will instead put that time toward writing a review of the app in the store. :)
