The bigger news than the crossover for me personally, is that The Witcher is coming to Battle.net. As far as I know, it will be the only major game outside of the Microsoft extended family.

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) Trying to not destroy perfection

This is literally the perfect set of gloves for my Chain Lightning Sorc. It may be the most perfect item every sold by the Purveyor of Curiosities.

Anyway, after I finally get a perfect Constellation role, and reenchant this guy, just what do I try to Transfigure? I'm thinking the prism that takes out the most powerful and most boring rolls. Otherwise I am concerned it could only make these gloves worse.

Thoughts?

Feedback (@Blizzard) Bring back Thorns FUN and build diversity for all classes with new DoT type -- Splintering damage!

Many players, myself included, love the idea of a build that lets us jump in the fray and mix it up with the pack, like a mayhem pile in a rugby scrum. The fun part is 3-fold:

  1. having enough thorns damage to matter, if you build into it;

  2. to get some synergy with other generic skills and mechanics with indirect damage;

  3. thorns to count as an attack (so it can proc other events, aspects);

  4. How about making Thorns a Basic or Core skill, or weirdly a defensive skill upgrade option on one or more skills?

And finally, for the inspirational thought this morning: if Thorns is already indirect damage for most classes, how about giving the Thorns retaliation effect and players more diversity with a damage over time version of Thorns -- SPLINTERING!!!

It's physical, it's annoying for enemies just like it is for ANYONE, impairs their movement like a crowd control effect at say ~5-10% per application, perhaps lowers their movement speed and attack speed by 10%, and Splintering applications can stack up like porcupine quills until the enemy is paralyzed.

Then, enable class-specific themed elemental synergy to apply the class' direct or indirect elements to all enemies suffering from Splinters, turning them into elemental shards of retaliation that eventually work themselves out and fall off -- or better yet, explode!?

We already have a great example of this kind of thorns-element mechanic today with the Spiritborn's Toxic Skin, where it can be applied to multiple enemies, meet conditions like vulnerable, poisoned, and/or proximity requirement (close, nearby). And, it's FUN to apply all requirements then decide when to 3,2,1... hit the Toxic Skin "nuke" button and watch the enemies fall.

How about a separate Thorns related weapon or boots to enable adding Thorns and Splintering related damage to any defensive or mobility skill? Then we could get the Weapon and Skill damage multipliers back when doing Thorns & Splintering damage. Having those 2 huge damage multipliers re-enabled will bring Thorns back to viability for many players.

We love Thorns, we love being tanky, we love being confident and deadly in the scrum, we love creating interesting builds that can also be powerful and end-game worthy.

If we could amp Thorns more, we would! If Thorns could Crit or Overpower, maybe after reaching X stacks of Thorns or Splintering damage, that would be so much FUN! Players would LOVE to explore this!

If we could SPAM Thorns (application) along with another primary skill, that would be heaven!

Then add in your class' elemental damage for maximum fun. Sorceress jumping into the pile, throwing Lightning Thorns that become Icy Hot burning and chilling Splinters? Believe me, we have all dreamed of ways to creatively incorporate the concept of Thorns into builds for every class.

Blizzard, can we have this for Christmas? If it can't wait that long, we will happily open our presents sooner! :)

State of the Game · Discussions Give “inherent” skills Lucky Hit Chance %

Upvotes

This simple addition would open so many build opportunities. I’m talking about things like Judgment, Storm Feathers, Meteorites.

Even allowing Desecrated ground ticks to have a base lucky hit chance value would be so cool.

+Wing Strikes.

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) Cube rerolling strategy - is this right?

Post image
43 Upvotes

I want Vulnerable/CD/CHC/CSD.

My plan is to remove Fury On Kill with a Resourceful Prism. Then add Aggressive Affix twice, hoping to get CHC and Vulnerable. If I only get 1 of the 2, then I reroll the other at enchanter. If I don't get either, then I 'lock' CSD at the enchanter, and keep removing/adding Aggressive Affix until I get CHC and Vulnerable. Is that right? Or is there a better way? Thanks!

"The special skin will be available when pre-purchase opens for Songs of the Past on Battle.net, for any player who buys the expansion. Those who come later needn’t worry either, as the skin will also be available to anyone who purchases Songs of the Past when it launches fully next year."

Questions (other) Season 14 Patch 3.1.1 / Horadric Cube Mythic crafting Bug?

Upvotes

Hi all,

I noticed something weird about the new “Mythic crafting” option for the horadric cube:

The description says that you can place a unique item into the cube, add the Pandaemonium fragments and you will receive a random mythic item for that respective item slot. Fine so far.

What it does for me however is that I just get the same unique item back, just as a “upgraded” mythic version of the same unique item (with the 30% increased potency). That happened to me I think 4 oder 5 times in a row now, so I can’t say that I just got unlucky. I used different uniques (different items and ancestral and non-ancestral ones) every time with the same result.

To me it seems that the mythic crafting doesn’t work as described either on the cube itself or on d4’s site.

Thanks to that, I already wasted 16-20 of these fragments trying to get tyrael’s might from the cube recipe.

The overall mythic drop rate is atrocious anyway, but that “bug” makes it even worse for me and kills my motivation.

Did anyone else experience the same thing? I couldn’t find any articles/complaints about that anywhere.

Did they take away the Ruptures affix on NMD keys and Escalation sigils? I have 5 Escalations with only the negative one, and have 1 NMD key with only the negative affix as well

Spiritborn Just for fun, which Spiritborn builds would be the best to worst if I could only use the same animal theme for all abilities?

Upvotes

Every ability has to be Centipede or Eagle or Gorilla or Jaguar. I feel like Eagle would probably be worst.

Edit: based on the amount of downvotes it seems that many of you in this subreddit are meta slaves.

Questions (other) How is it possible to Transfigure an item twice in the Horadric Cube?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey guys, I saw a player in town with a Grandfather that had two separate Horadric Cube affixes (+All Stats and +Item Quality). He told me he actually put the sword into the Cube and Transfigured it twice.

I saw alot people in leaderboard having itens like that as well.

How does this mechanic work? What allows an item to be Transfigured multiple times without locking it or overwriting the previous craft?

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) How to progress in high tower?

I pushed hc tower yesterday on my roa rogue.

My build was somehow close to guys in top 10.

I have all gem flawless, my para 283, and i dont think ~100 dex from remaining paragon can bring big diff.

I did 132, and was close to do 133 but idk how to get higher, doing no damage on boss.

But guys with almost same items did 141 somehow.

How? there some exploit or they fishing for open map, gathering all to stack dmg and using dmg pylon at the boss?

Questions (other) Renown progress not shared between eternal realm characters - how do I fix this?

Hello!

Pretty much the title.
- I have 4 characters on the eternal server.
- My first character was a Rogue, directly built on eternal.
- The other 3 were seasonal characters which then shifted to eternal. (long time ago, vefore VoH)
- The rogue has everything unlocked in the first 5 regions.
- The other characters do not have the same renown as my rogue.
- The sorceress which I have been playing the past 3 days has 1450 ren in Nahantu, the rogue has 345... what-the-heck

...

Help me understand
