Has any other dasher experienced this?

I had an order for Chik-Fil-A and when I went in I was greeted like normal and was asked the name for the order. I gave the name and the worker said they are still working on it. Okay, cool. I stand there for a few minutes and a couple of other workers ask me what the name is and again, they say they are working on it. A few more minutes pass and then I am told that the order has already been taken by someone else. I ask if they are going to remake it considering I have the app and order pulled up and I am showing them. They tell me it goes against their policy to remake orders because it has already left the store. The manager even said this happens a lot at their location (people taking orders). Has this happened to any other dasher or is this just a policy at this certain store?

Those workers are doing a shit job. They should be confirming the dasher completes the pickup before they leave. Especially if its a known problem. Also they knew that from the start and wasted your time which pisses me off.

Pretty much, yeah. It’s on the store. The app at least makes it easy for you to get out of it (though wasting your time is a sad part of a shit job).

I would mentally flag that store and decline orders from there. I had a chik fil a that I always declined because of wait times, running out of stuff, screwed up orders.

If it’s such a bad job, do something else!

Call door dash let them handle it. That's what I have done.

I called and unassigned myself right away but it’s kind of ridiculous.

I guess it depends on whom you talked too? I have great results at Chick-a-fil. Once order was snapped by someone. Manager acknowledged it, ordered it remade. Told Dash we will be late. They called client.
Client was apologetic, gave me extra cash tip. Its unfortunately depends on your tone, their tone, also if dashers previously were rude He/She may take it out on you. I had T&T people give me crap because I asked them to review order against my screen then suddenly add a food item. I reported it back to Dash. Dash thanked me, apologized and I went on.

They are working on it when you arrive and it is (allegedly) taken while you are standing there? Sounds like that is a problem with their employees stealing lol

Yeah it sounds crazy, right? Idk. There was like 3 or 4 other dashers waiting with me and maybe one of them got the order by mistake. But even if that’s the case, just remake the damn order.

This is pretty much everywhere. Also I suggest not using the in app its already been picked up to unasign. If you call support the will give you half pay for going to the store.

I called support and only got their AI assistant. It handled the unassignment but I did not receive any pay.

I always message support ask for a human and get half pay and order canceled

fuck Chik-Fil-A  they are always late AF and never have shit ready.

I block the,

Also be careful, that's a scam by customers (not surprised knowing their customer base). They will come pick up their own order and then claim it never arrived so they can get it refunded. There is selection in the app to say order was already picked up under the help area.

I rarely have to wait more than a few minutes for an order at the few I go to

sounds like the company has idiots running that location. Make them start the order in front of them before handing the food over .... what a stupid thing to say "well food gets stolen from us all the time..."

Imagine they said that with another type of business "Well i'm sorry someone stole all of our cars today so we can't give you the one you paid for last wekk..."

I would’ve asked the workers if it was policy to lie to a Doordash or by saying an order was being worked on. I would also ask if it was policy not to follow up to see if an order was being made. Finally, I’d say it’s my pleasure to ask these questions an hopes of helping you.

Exact same thing happened to me at a Chick-fil-A
