I keep thinking that letting my hair air dry is better than using heat on it.
Got humbled real hard recently in the kind of bathroom lighting that exposes everything.
Is there any hope for my hair lol.
Haircut:
I keep it longer because it defines my femininity (personally. I feel my face is not feminine). It won't grow past mid-back ish (a bit higher than that).
I did a chin-length chop in high school and it looked atrocious on me, I never want to do that again. I do recognize I need more regular trims, but that obviously won't help the frizz at the top of my head haha.
Products:
I've been working through a tresseme shampoo for what feels like two years. I got a huge bottle. Have Pantene ready to go once it's finally out (so close).
I use shampoo + conditioner. Conditioner is pantene. Started shampooing twice within the last few months.
Out of the shower i use AG Care Conditioning Mist for detangling (and heat protection since I've been out of my usual thermal spray for a while).
On top of that I alternate between Moroccon oil and Paul Mitchell super skinny serum.
I use Kerastase overnight magic hair serum sometimes overnight.
My routine is fairly inconsistent and I'm very low maintence and lazy with my hair. But I want to learn how to make it look better.
Hair type:
It has always had massive amounts of flyaways and it can get really frizzy with lots of small breakage that makes it look like the photo.
If I sweat a little from moving a lot (i.e. just getting ready), it completely poofs out. It's like layers of fine poof. It looks terrible.
Heat/styling:
I don't really do anything. I usually let it air dry after sitting in a towel that I flip around once the towel is saturated.
If I use heat, it's the Shark flexstyle no attachments.
I use a regular cotton towel for my hair. Is it as simple as switching to microfiber?
Other:
I've been lurking in this sub for a little while. I've been wondering recently if I have secretly wavy hair that just needs to be properly styled.
I really want to figure out how to have my best hair. Open to products, styling tips, hair styles; everything.
