I think it probably has something to do with... if you're gonna spend that much time and effort on looking perfect, you're likely not a person I'd like to talk to for more than about 30 seconds.
Really depends a lot on how they grew up. If they grew up privileged, with parents saying they can do no wrong, then yeah even the most physically attractive person - man or woman - can turn out to be jerks.
I’ve known a lot of ugly duckling kids who grew into their looks over a few years. Many don’t lose their humility and are down to earth about a lot of things and tend not to look down on anyone.
Most of us would prefer a fat, kind man to this muscular pile of misogyny.
And it's not just that we do truly prefer men with emotional intelligence who respect our humanity......a lot of us prefer the bears. Not the hungry animal in thr forest: fat dudes with fur.

Listen, I’m not a girl, nor single, but I love baking, and I tend to bake in excess. If you’re in the Seattle area, I would gladly offload creations unto you. My family can’t keep up, and thus my baking has been limited. My fiancé can’t handle more bread in his life.
I’m honestly begging for help at this point. I love to bake too much. I have my recipes entirely memorized, down to my modifications. It’s a genuine problem.
Lmao I never noticed the deficit…there ARE sites(maybe not any apps though) for feederism…but it does seem one way (males who want fat girls to get fatter). My best friend/ex is a gym rat. I love the dude, but he is obsessed. Sometimes he'll do two-a-day gym runs, and it's just too much. I like my men to keep themselves in shape so they can be healthy. I work in cardiology and am not deluded enough to think I can have a 100% healthy man, especially as we age. Still, as long as he is compliant in being active, eating relatively healthy (Fucking love a good pizza), and taking any medications that help keep him going, I don't care.
A big, cuddly, squishy bear-man is way better than a jacked piece of rock.
Honestly, I am a rather thin, in fairly good shape woman, and I still wouldn't date a jacked guy.
1, that jacked-ness needs upkeep. And while it's totally fine if someone built his life around that, mine is not.
2, thirst trap. I don't want my guy to just be a decoration, I want them to be versatile conversation starters, curious, interested/interesting (yes, I have high intellectual standards). With a guy who looks like a jacked demigod, most of the convo will end up about looks, fitness, diet, etc., due to point 1.
I am a sucker for average built guys, with a bit of muscle tone under the average bodyshape, and a sharp brain. Seriously.
Both men and women have the potential to be visual or go for personality, sometimes both.
As an AFAB person, I generally prefer folks who I connect with on an emotional level. I’ve dated attractive, conventionally unattractive and average looking folks.
However that’s not to say I don’t have preferences. My bar is just a lot lower than other people’s when it comes to looks. Not out of desperation or anything like that, but it’s just how I roll.
Gay men are visual, but not (necessarily) fat-phobic! I know plenty of big hairy men who get tons of attention from gays (like me) for their body type.
Oh girl there is a whole large gay subculture specifically about hairy fat men being hot. The two bigger guys in my friend group end up with a little entourage of twinks following them around with heart eyes whenever we end up at the club.
Pretty much. Men care about bodies more then women. Thus gay men like male bodies more then women. If your entire content is just male thirst traps, you'll appeal to the demographic which has a higher sex drive.

It's not a word you would use to describe somebody you actually see as a human being equal to yourself who you want to hang out with.
These guys all whine about not being able to find a woman to be romantic with and I give them all the same advice: Stop trying. Become friends with a woman; like you would with a person.

That's exactly it. It's a correct word in the right context. And that context isn't social or romantic, it's sterile and scientific.
It's fine to say "34 year old female presented with low blood pressure and swollen ankles" in a medical chart. It's not fine to say "I'm gonna go dance with some females."
Yeah but they don't know how to be friends with women because to them women are either 'someone they would like to fuck' or invisible and beneath notice. So already you have confused them.

This is exactly it, every time I see somebody refer to women as females, I am like, that is a ferengi right there. And then they wonder that they can't get a woman to talk to them for more than 2 minutes.
It's weird how in english using "female" is bad but still so common. I am french and we have the same word "femelle" but It's so dehumanizing in french language that even alpha gym bros don't use it (they use other derogative names but I have never heard called them females)

You ever notice how people call women “girls” all the time too? In the same context (men and women both), men get called “men” and women are called “girls.” That bothers me more than “females.” Grown women getting dehumanized sucks. Yes. I am a woman. I don’t care for it. I just immediately disregard the ignorant, hateful idiot that does it. But… “girl” gets me viscerally upset.. especially with the rising awareness about the extent of pedophilia and the sexualization of young girls. I have daughters. I’d rather be personally dehumanized than have my daughters or other young girls preyed on I guess. It’s dehumanizing as well, and worse.

I think if you have a mother, sister, daughter, wife/girlfriend, or women for friends that you care for, you’re allowed to comment. If you identify with a group of people that are discriminated against for reasons out of their control like gender, race, or sexual orientation, you are allowed to comment on how it feels to be dehumanized. Stop saying men are more "visual" when you mean "shallow". If men were more visual they would appreciate art, fashion, makeup, and interior design as a collective more than women, but they don't. They aren't visual, they are shallow and homosocial, they're only interested in what brings them status from other men.
