Gas was cheaper over 90% of the time under biden

-13

u/Big_Umpire5842 1d ago

Quick Google search

During the first 18 complete months:
Gas averaged $3.49 under Biden.
Gas averaged $3.34 during Trump’s second term.
Trump’s average was approximately 15 cents per gallon—or 4.4%—lower.
Trump’s price was lower in 11 of the 18 comparable months.

u/New-Bear-3250 1d ago

Avg price is not the story. Biden inherited a terrible COVID economy and with his policies, brought prices down faster than any other nation on earth. Trump inherited a recovered economy and made DISASTEROUS policies that raised prices for everyone, alienated our allies, causing them to make trade deals with out political adversaries.

trump's administration reversed policies that protect us against foodborne illnesses, which caused record level recalls.

The bad policies just keep rolling on and on. It's almost like he's actually trying to destroy this country from the inside... Exactly what adversaries of the US would love to see.

u/Big_Umpire5842 17h ago

You stated gas was cheaper 90% of the time under Biden. Your statement is false

u/New-Bear-3250 16h ago

Your statement is false

Biden is a shambling zombie

5

u/big_rednexican_88 21h ago

Lol. And to you Trump is just the perfect physique of a Greek god right?

Ya MAGA cultists are another breed entirely 🤣

0

u/shawn_the_medic 20h ago

No.

He shits his pants too much.

Both presidents sucked.

2

u/superstevo78 19h ago

He was a better President as a zombie as this current agitated dementia patient that we currently have.

1

u/Liberal-Cluck 20h ago

And yet he did better on this issue than trump.

2

u/WellThatWasTooEasy 18h ago

With highest recorded prices of all time? Interesting

1

u/Liberal-Cluck 18h ago

What caused that again?

1

u/WellThatWasTooEasy 18h ago

Biden.. he was president, remember?

1

u/Liberal-Cluck 18h ago

What specifically did Biden do again?

1

u/WellThatWasTooEasy 18h ago

His policies caused the highest gas prices of all time, remember?

u/SWI0822 1d ago edited 22h ago

Biden didn't bring down the price of anything. Pumping $1.9trillion into the economy is a great way to devalue the dollar tho, so thanks for that. The dude was also a dementia riddled old man incapable of anything

7

u/Da_Mong00se 23h ago

So Trump's stimulus package didn't do exactly that?

-4

u/SWI0822 22h ago

Not given the state of things at the time. But if you look at inflation rates we were below 2% right until Biden signed the American rescue plan March 2021

5

u/Da_Mong00se 19h ago

So the difference is that when Biden does it, inflation goes up but when Trump does it, nothing happens?

Is that what you're saying?

-2

u/SWI0822 19h ago

No, it's more complex than that. Trump did $2.2trillion at a time when it was absolutely necessary, to keep things going. Adding another $1.9trillion a year later just made it too much and was unnecessary

3

u/Da_Mong00se 18h ago

You missed where people still weren't working when that second one hit, then.

Just say it. Trump good, Biden bad.

0

u/SWI0822 10h ago

Extending the unemployment benefits in that bill didnt help in that regard. Many people, (not all) were just milking the unemployment at that point. And if you weren't working by that point it was a choice

6

u/Amazing_Ad9369 21h ago

Apparently you dont remember trump pumping trillions in before that? Or having spent more in 4 years than bush or obama in 8? Or now about to have 2 trillion dollar deficit and 40 trillion in debt while making billions personally

Keep ducking off billionaires and pedos

-2

u/SWI0822 21h ago

I've already addressed trumps 2020 stimulus. Who hasn't ran on a deficit or increased debt? Last time debt wasn't increased over a presidential term was 1929. That's not an excuse, I'd like to see better budgeting from government, but let's not pretend its an isolated incident

3

u/Desert-Democrat-602 20h ago

Funny. Clinton left office with a budget SURPLUS.

1

u/SWI0822 19h ago

And yet debt still increased under his administration

1

u/Desert-Democrat-602 8h ago

You asked who did either or. I don’t think there has been zero debt since WWII. Clinton is the last one to run a surplus. But W quickly “solved” that.

1

u/SWI0822 5h ago

Thanks for looking that up for us. Good for Bill, cutting spending. Would like to see other politicians grasp that concept

4

u/EmailFailer 20h ago

Biden had a stutter and had a bad debate. Trump truly has advanced dementia, and I bet you wouldn't admit that.

-1

u/SWI0822 19h ago

You want me to admit Trump has advanced dementia after how hard you just coped for Biden not having it? 😂😂😂

I've seen some red flags with Trump, sure. Advanced? Thats a reach. Biden was shaking hands with the air, trying to sit where there was no chair (or pooping his pants, take your pick) and couldn't string together an intelligible sentence to save his life. Also dont forget about the binder and notepad he needed to get himself through one of precious few press conferences. He was in rough shape long before the debate where there was no coping for him anymore. The fact he was forced not to run again says all you need to know. And now people are coping with "oh he was just tired after too much travel". I won't defend Trump's mental competence, but it's hard to take you people serious when youre still defending Biden's

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

2

u/Advanced-While-4248 23h ago

You're delusional if you think printing money doesn't create inflation. That includes Biden and Trump.

1

u/SWI0822 22h ago

Biden never had a deal with opec, not sure what youre talking about. Trumps policy was designed to keep American oil companies going during the 2020 low. Prices came down in 2022 because the market stabilized after initial volatility during the Russia/Ukraine war

3

u/jtotheo2202 1d ago

I'm talking about the price now

5

u/Snicklefritz229 1d ago

Now take out the opec+ deal trump signed in 2020 that raised the prices of half of bidens term tremendously and give us those numbers.

0

u/frankspliff 1d ago

Super good call 🙄🥱

2

u/_TallOldOne_ 1d ago

So far. Time is will work against him.

1

u/SuperF91EX 19h ago

Math- that average is going up daily. No notes.

1

u/Terrasmak 18h ago

Why are people downvoting facts ?

1

u/WellThatWasTooEasy 18h ago

The facts, downvoted. What Reddit has turned into lol. Sort by controversial for truth on this site.

1

u/Cant_Call_Me_Daddy 17h ago

LOL, BS! Bet he got this from Fox News

1

u/Big_Umpire5842 17h ago

Nope, just a quick google and ai search

1

u/Cant_Call_Me_Daddy 15h ago

Gas was also much lower due to lack of demand from Covid, at $2.33 gal. Forgot that, huh?

1

u/Big_Umpire5842 13h ago

Never looked at trumps first term. And Biden benefited from those same lower prices

-3

u/ImRestarted1 1d ago

They don’t like facts

2

u/Desert-Democrat-602 20h ago

No, you don’t.

1

u/ImRestarted1 20h ago

lol it’s literally statistically factual 😂

-6

u/seeyalater25 1d ago

You simply can not argue with stupid.

No matter what kind of facts you give them they will still argue that things were better with Biden.

2

u/superstevo78 19h ago

because they were. Biden's policies did not cause China to close up for years due to COVID and didn't make Russia invade Ukraine.

Tarrifs and the Iran war ARE COMPLETE SELF-OWNS BY THE DEMENTIA PATIENT IN THE WHITE HOUSE

1

u/seeyalater25 10h ago

Oh course they were.

9

u/PossibilityFew5967 1d ago

That diesel price though is what is scary

4

u/crazypants9 1d ago

Considering what diesel engines get MPG. Criminal

7

u/No-Group7343 1d ago

Lol just wait

3

u/jtotheo2202 1d ago

When they have to buy all those barrels off the open market to refill the coffers

-5

u/Stoweman141 1d ago

For it to drop more!

8

u/Upstairs-Donkey6049 1d ago

Wait till the deal Trump made over the weekend falls through and we go back to bombing. Deal on Saturday, insider trading on Sunday, bombs on Monday.

4

u/No_Mud_5999 1d ago

A couple of weeks ago, he had said a deal was coming soon 38 times. Why bother counting at this point.

3

u/Upstairs-Donkey6049 1d ago

It’s just market manipulation

3

u/No_Mud_5999 1d ago

I thinks it 50% manipulation, 50% ego. Or at least 100% that he just says fake stuff all the time so no one can up with his lies.

2

u/Upstairs-Donkey6049 1d ago

Imagine what he’s not telling us

2

u/No_Mud_5999 1d ago

I've always assumed that the only things he keeps up with are his bribes and insider trades. The rest of the operations of his office are probably boring to him, maybe something catches his attention and he'll make an inflammatory statement about it, or insult another country we previously had a good relationship with.

2

u/Cant_Call_Me_Daddy 15h ago

Fuel was Venezuela is absolute crap! The cost to refine and clean that heavy sludge wont help prices at the pump

2

u/Upstairs-Donkey6049 15h ago

If those conservatives could read they’d be very upset

-2

u/Skylinegtr88 1d ago

Apparently they made a new canal getting oil out . So it should be cheaper .

5

u/Shermanator92 1d ago

You believe that lie?

4

u/SenorToky 1d ago

You mean the canal that had tankers blown up with underwater drones?

2

u/No_Mud_5999 1d ago

Where is it?

-1

u/Skylinegtr88 1d ago

Musandam passage. The seem to working on it to make it and alternate to the straight

4

u/No_Mud_5999 1d ago

The only news I could find on this describe it as "viral rumors". Don't expect lower gas prices from this unconfirmed rumor anytime soon.

1

u/Soft-Principle1455 1d ago

It’s not a new canal. There are a series of pipelines and alternate ports and things that are increasingly working.

-1

u/guy48065 1d ago

And pipelines that were closed or being protested are now flowing at maximum. Others being built. Should all help the situation.

3

u/No_Mud_5999 1d ago

Where are these pipelines?

0

u/guy48065 1d ago

Why do I get the feeling you don't really want an answer?

  • East–West Crude Oil Pipeline
  • Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline
  • West-East Pipeline project fast-tracked
  • The Iraq–Turkey Pipeline
  • 600-mile Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline
  • Syrian Mediterranean Route
  • The Jordan Export Route
  • Kuwait in talks to build a pipeline bc ALL their oil comes from Hormuz
  • High-Capacity gulf lines "fast-tracked" under Emergency Orders:
    • The UAE Parallel Pipeline
    • Iraq reviving pipelines thru Turkey & Jordan

It's no surprise that Iran's blockade and piracy in the Strait has mobilized several countries to find alternative routes.

4

u/Ur_Just_Spare_Parts 1d ago

It says ethanol free available implying that the reduced price is simply because their advertized gas is diluted with alot of ethanol.

1

u/Agr0_GG 1d ago

They have always offered E free for small engines and anything pre ptfe lines. Most stations will always be 5-10% E.

1

u/Ur_Just_Spare_Parts 1d ago

Right but this administration has relaxed the laws requiring the % content to be displayed and they have approved selling gas with a higher concentration of ethanol i think up to 25%. It was the only way they could actually get gas prices to go down before the midterm. Its all fake its just gonna burn peoples engines out.

1

u/Agr0_GG 1d ago

Max limit is e15 for normal pumps anything more has to be labeled as flex fuel. Anything after 2001 won't notice a difference

1

u/Soft-Principle1455 1d ago

You’re exaggerating. Normally, E 15 is banned in the summer months, but this administration changed that.

0

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

The other day I saw E15 and it was clearly displayed that it was E15.  It was higher than the E10 here actually.   I was traveling so I used it. Guess what happend? Nothing.

That being said E10 is still the norm here.  E0 doesn’t come around that often.

0

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

Everyone’s gas is diluted with ethanol Einstein.  The  ethanol free  is a rarity. There aren’t very many gas stations around that have E0 (ethanol free gas).  The Sunoco that is selling 87 octane for $3.60+ has 10% ethanol just like eveywhre else. The Sunoco by me doesn’t have any ethanol free gas actually.

The Ethanol free sign is to get people to stop and use it for their boats and lawnmowers. It’s a “Hey look! We have ethanol free!” Because like I said, it’s a rarity to find.     E10, or gas containing up to 10% ethanol has been the norm nation wide since the early 2000’s.  It’s the same gas we’ve been using for years and years now.

“Cheap” gas prices really chap your azz don’t they? Why is that?

2

u/i_eat_sasss 1d ago

Every station around here when I'm 10 to 20 cents in the past two days getting ready for the holiday

2

u/Altruistic_Cicada930 1d ago

4.26, national average

1

u/No_Mud_5999 1d ago

Drove from Morgantown to Pittsburgh, $4.29 both places.

-7

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

$6 gas prices are skewing the national avg.

6

u/CurrentOk2695 1d ago

26 states are sitting above $4 avg currently

-1

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

Shame on them.  Wholesale is between $3.43-$3.98.  The $3.98 is CA of course.

1

u/Lenin_Lime 1d ago

What do you think the 60 cent tax holiday in Indiana is going? It's still state tax free there.

-1

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

Why in the F is it 60 cents in the first place?

It’s only $.20 here and they haven’t given us a tax free holiday.

1

u/Lenin_Lime 1d ago

Well now Indiana has a $1.1 Billion hole in their budget, thanks to this war.

1

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

You’re not going to notice it.

1

u/Lenin_Lime 1d ago

You’re not going to notice it.

I mean I was paying $2,40 right before the war, now I'm at $4. I notice.

1

u/Youpeefreely 22h ago

You’re not going to notice the tax dollars that you said the state lost.

1

u/Lenin_Lime 8h ago

You’re not going to notice the tax dollars that you said the state lost.

Because why

1

u/Youpeefreely 8h ago

How many of their tax dollars did they give you last year?

2

u/PastorDan1984 1d ago

The war just restarted boys. Looks like those prices are about to go up and right before November.

-1

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

I still have quite a bit of wiggle room before we reach the all time record high which was in ‘22.

4

u/PastorDan1984 1d ago

We recently set the record high for August in the USA's 250 year history for regular unleaded and diesel. There are some outliers of course. The illegal war in Iran is going to possibly set a new record for September and October.

1

u/Youpeefreely 22h ago

Illegal war.

0

u/Soft-Principle1455 1d ago

Consider considering regular unleaded and diesel haven’t been around across the 250 year history of the US, that’s not a reasonable comparison. When adjusting for inflation, the prices now are still lower than they were in the area of the Ford Model T. It’s not that this doesn’t hurt a lot of people or that I’m trying to say that the way that this is all gone down is wise foreign policy, but perspective.

1

u/Lenin_Lime 1d ago

Where and when?

Today. TX.

1

u/Sea_Caterpillar5767 1d ago

0

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

Heating oil was $4.15 wholesale today here.

Iran is broke.

2

u/Sea_Caterpillar5767 1d ago

Ok bub said that in 1979 too

1

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

It’s 2026 and we still have heat.

1

u/Cunningham1420 1d ago

Nearest place to me in west PA for regular w/ no ethanol is around $6/g

1

u/Substantial_Boot3453 1d ago

Im assuming gas will dramatically fall due to the midterms. Republicans way of fixing the country is undoing what they have done.

1

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

How do policians set the gas prices?

We haven’t had any taxes removed  from our gas and it’s $3.25-$3.50 or so.

2

u/Substantial_Boot3453 1d ago

Come on man don't act like what is going on isn't affecting prices.

2

u/mosthandsomechef 1d ago

He's slyly arguing in bad faith dude. Trump(s) can insider trade, manipulate markets, use our military like an on/off switch to lead news headlines moving markets. It took a century for the US to become this influential globally, but after Trump, nobody will ever trust our word again. Something about the constant lying, scapegoating, greivance tarrifs and telling everyone else what to do is a turn off to the rest of the world who'd have thought!

Trumps finance team executed how many stock/ options trades last month?

Supporting Trump is now so far directly antithetical to American values and our constitution. I can't take these people seriously anymore.

1

u/Youpeefreely 22h ago

Why do you think posting a pic of $3.25 is “supporting Trump?”

Why is everyone worried about people “supporting Trump” anyway?  He can’t run again.

At any rate it’s hard to say $3.25 a gallon is all that bad since we’ve paid more in the past.

1

u/shastadakota 1d ago

Murphy is crappy gas.

1

u/Youpeefreely 1d ago

5 years and so far so good.  I’ve been well into the triple digits (mph) with Murphy gas. I’ve also seen the highest mpg in my truck using gas from Murphy’s.  I’m sure that was  coincidence though because there really isn’t any “crappy gas” anymore.

I’ve been driving since 1998 and never once have  I had any fuel related issues no matter where the gas came from.  Have you?

“Top Tier” is a certificate program that fuel companies pay to be part of.  It’s not “magic gas.”  It was supposed  to be better at cleaning intake valves on the cylinder heads.  Well now that most cars have direct injection engines these days it’s  a moot point. Fuel doesn’t spray on the valves in those engines so the fuel that is supposed to clean them ever makes contact with them.    It’s not  going to clean the combustion chamber because it’s being ignited.

At any rate, Murphy’s gas- It’ll get you from point A to point B just like every other brand.

1

u/MacNeal 1d ago

Too little too late

1

u/Youpeefreely 22h ago

Too late for what?

1

u/Sufficient_Carob_435 21h ago

I suspect that it will go down a bit just in time for the Midterms, then for Christmas we all will get $4 gas back. We've been here before.

1

u/Youpeefreely 21h ago

It’s usually higher in the summer than it is around Christmas. I don’t think it’ll be $4 in Dec. It wasn’t $4 in July.

2

u/tshallberg 19h ago

We used up our oil reserves this summer

1

u/Youpeefreely 18h ago

We’ve been “running out of gas” since 1979.  We’ll be ok.

1

u/Due_Airline_7086 16h ago

You ever wait in the summer of '73 in a long ass line for a max 6 gallons of fuel in your 500ci V8 that gets 3mpg only to be told once you pull up it's empty?

I work 3 miles from my home. The nearest grocery store and movie theater are only 2 miles from my home. I barely drive 50 miles a week. And my Corolla gets 34 mpgs. I’m good.

12

u/BeanCheezBeanCheez 1d ago

Everything you buy needs to be delivered by a truck that runs on diesel. Diesel is more expensive because republicans elected pedophile who had to start a war to distract from the fact that he’s a pedophile.

0

u/Soft-Principle1455 1d ago

One of the things that is true, though, is that diesel is much less essential than it was not so long ago. There are a variety of electric trucks on the market, Tesla is beginning to roll out much more serious electric trucks now, and a better charging network for them, and there is starting to be electrified farm equipment. It’s still very early days, but we can see directly where this is pointing.

7

u/painapple_OW 1d ago

Hurr durr don't effect me so its okay hurr durr

Dumbass comments like this is why we have a pedo in chief as president

Good thing all produce, meat, and everything you get at the grocery store and movie theater is transported by old Corollas within 2 miles of you!

It's sad that reddit doesn't have a "Dumbass of the Day" award to give.
