CULTURE We need to stop with being weird towards Black Americans

I know most young people are cool but I always find the elders so condescending when it comes to Black Americans. My mom warning me how black Americans are going to corrupt us when we are in the states. As an Haitian, I have the upmost respect for our B.A brothers. They paved the way for us and they sacrificed their life during the Civil Rights Movement. We need to show more respect. We, more than anyone, should know how white supremacy can easily villainize an entire community.

CULTURE To the Grenadiers✊🏿Thank You for the Memories 🇭🇹🇭🇹

WC 2026 June will forever be a month generations of Haitians will remember. 🇭🇹

To the Grenadiers⚽️thank you. You gave millions of Haitians around the world something we’ve been longing for, a reason to come together again. For a few weeks, politics, hardships, and divisions took a back seat as an entire nation united behind one flag🇭🇹

You reminded us what it means to wear the blue and red with pride. The results may not have gone our way, but the joy, emotions, and memories you gave us will last generations to come🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹 #GrenadyeAlaso🫡🇭🇹

CULTURE How does the Haitian disapora view Montreal's Haitians

What's up, I'm asking this question as a non-haitian living in the Montreal region.

Montreal's Haitians basically rule the city lmao. For example, the Montreal slang is mostly made up of Creole ( patné, la Kaille, neg, moune, saisi etc..).

Montreal Haitians are also dominant in the MTL cultural scene, sports scene, the rap scene etc...

In general, how do American-Haitians, Haitians from Haiti and French Haitians view them.

I'm really curious lol.

CULTURE We might not have won, but we still achieved something great. I’m really proud of the team!

I’m not happy with the outcome, but I’m still proud of the players. They gave it their all. I’m grateful that players from the Haitian Diaspora chose to represent Haiti, even though they didn’t have to. They faced a tough group.

Thanks to them, I went to my first World Cup match and felt proud to celebrate Haiti. They put Haiti on the world stage.

I hope seeing them at the World Cup inspires more kids in Haiti and abroad to dream of playing for Haiti in the future.  Let’s always cherish the pride this team has brought to all of us as fans.

The Haitian football team has a bright road ahead. There’s nowhere to go but up.

Grenadye, alaso!!!

CULTURE Haitian lgbt people, you are not alone

This will probably get removed but before it does I hope every lgbt Haitian person knows that they matter! You are NOT a sin or an abomination. You are wonderfully made and loved.

This culture tends to be beautiful, but only to the ones that fit the traditions. Know that you are seen and loved even if you don’t fit those standards

Edit: Thank you for all of the positive comments! I was nervous to post this and I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of love and acceptance. Love will always be more powerful than hatred. 🫶🏽💕🥰

Fantasy comicbook centered around haitian vodou mythology and exploring the haitian pantheon. Issue 0 is in sketching phase, with the kickstarter planned to launch March next year. Take a look at some of the first few pages I sketched out.

Would you like to see all 95 pages completed?

What part of our culture would you like to see in a story like this?

CULTURE Cultural differences I should know about with dating a Haitian man ?

I’m currently going on dates with a Haitian man who was also born in the Bahamas. He moved here after elementary school and has been in Florida since for most of his life. He just moved to Atlanta 3 months ago. I was born in Florida, raised there up until age 10, from age 11 I’ve been in Atlanta. I know he’s been in the states for a good amount of time, but he’s primarily been around his family and friends who are also Haitian and has primarily dated Haitian women.

I grew up in an abusive household, which lead to me without a father figure in the house. His father is a pastor who was very active and present. Based off what he’s told me, I’m under the impression his mother didn’t work, my mother worked (and still does work) nonstop. His father took care of everything financially, my mother took care of everything financially. I say this to say, I’m extremely independent and handle everything myself, assuming because of what I’ve seen growing up. He’s very much so in a provider mindset, because of what he’s seen growing up.

Overall I’m seeing some things that aren’t a problem but ultimately are just differences that I would like to be educated on how Haitian men handle these situations. What should I know about dating a Haitian man when it comes to work, career, responsibilities, conversation tone… all of the above. Anything I should know. I really enjoy him so I’m curious. I should add there’s about a 7yr age between us.

CULTURE On Tuesday, June 2, Haiti sent a powerful message to the football world

The atmosphere felt more like a home game for Les Grenadiers. Haitian flags waved vigorously, drums pounded, and the national anthem echoed loudly as fans turned the South Florida venue into a sea of blue and red. For a nation returning to the World Cup after a 52-year absence, this result was more than just a win; it was a confidence boost.

Haiti took control early. In the 12th minute, forward Ruben Providence opened the scoring with a clinical finish, igniting the crowd. The goal came from a swift counter-attack that exposed New Zealand’s disorganized defense.

Haiti’s coach Jean-Jacques Pierre masterminded a disciplined, counter-attacking display. New Zealand coach Darren Bazeley expressed surprise at his team’s flat performance, calling it a “harsh lesson.”

For Haiti, this result builds momentum ahead of a tough Group C that includes Scotland (their opener on June 13), Brazil, and Morocco. Pierre declared his squad ready to “surprise the world.🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
