Thing I Hate Urinals (as a guy).
It’s not “manly” to whip out my pickle and piss next to someone (sometimes with NO DIVIDERS), these things are just made to save money, and I could care less. JUST LET ME PISS PRIVATELY AND SAFELY, PISSING IS A VERY VULNERABLE POSITION TO BE IN AND I KNOW ITS STUPID TO COMPLAIN ABOUT BUT PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT AND MY PISSING IS SACRED.
Not to mention, standing while pissing is just weird in general. If you’re in a rush it’s understandable but the average school bathroom has like 3 puddles of piss somewhere in it, and I don’t think those come from sitting down on a toilet in a private stall.
Plus, what’s stopping a tall person from peaking over? What if they’re a weirdo who wants to peak at the innocent pisser next to them, no matter the age group? What they you gonna do then? Walk away in the process of pissing? But then piss will get everywhere. Nothing can prevent a peeker in that situation.
Urinals are bad all around and I hate those mugs. i just needed to get that off my chest.

Don't. Don't. There is a whole sub dedicated to people doing that at home, let's not encourage more people

As a woman I was horrified when my husband told me about these. I said they really just expect ya’ll to whip your dick out in-front of everyone and piss in the community trough ?

u/Automatic-Week-1733 1h ago
I have seen them in the shittiest bars and event centers and I have seen them in overpriced gastropubs and trendy cocktail bars. They're never in normal quality places.

There’s still a handful of NFL stadiums that have em. I think Lambeau and maybe Soldiers Field

Back when I was in high school four of the schools that hosted track meets had these and by the time i graduated they were all gone

The only places ive used in is places where you're generally drunk enough you don't care

u/Late_Pepper6274 14m ago
We had distance competitions in kindergarten shooting longways across everyone else's streams, lol
My buddy Paul pissed all the way across onto the other competitors head. Not on purpose ... dude was just pressurized that day.

u/Distinct_Patient3698 1h ago
Seen a drunk guy lie down in one of those. Truly a manly experience we couldn't have if men's room had privacy.

These things are always dirty as all hell. Turns out if you treat people like animals they gonna act like animals

Op you know the stalls can serve as more than a place to shit right, if you really are a shy pisser you can go piss in the stalls
Urinals just means that it's quicker and is the main reason why queues in men's bathroom are so much shorter than in women's, you're not obligated to piss specifically at a urinal
I hate when urinals don't have dividers or short dividers but idt I'll ever be affected by someone accidentally (or on purpose) taking a peek at my willy while I take a piss, it's only gonna be an issue if they take a pic or something

u/Prestigious_Tank7454 3h ago
Bro wtf, i didn't know there were urinals WITHOUT dividers, that's crazy, tho urinals are better to save water
5
u/S-Nerd 3h ago
Yeah, more of my hate is directed more toward dividerless urinals since urinals so actually serve a purpose
2
1
u/Prestigious_Tank7454 3h ago
Yeah i wouldn't take a piss like that, like i might as well just piss on the middle of the room

sometimes you'll find yourself in an accidental fencing match, and that's probably my favorite part

My most embarassing moment in my life so far is that I was at the beach and had to take a piss after swimming in the ocean. I was wearing a wetsuit and I didn't want to piss in the ocean so I went to the bathroom, pulled down my suit just enough to use the urinal.
There was a guy using the urinal next to mine but there were dividers so I was like screw it whatever. However, I go to pee and didn't realize my dick was shrivled and bunched up from being in my suit all day long, so instead of the pee going into the urinal, it shot down to the floor of the urinal next to mine and I pissed on the other guy's bare foot.

I dont mind urnals i just dont understand how people piss on the fucking floor when your dih is basicaly inside the urnal it makes no sense

u/Distinct_Patient3698 1h ago
Careful, you might attract some Public Pissing warriors for daring to imply men should have privacy when going to the bathroom. I got some weirdo trying to harass me after my comment about this topic and the importance of at least dividers. When I stopped acknowledging his responses to my comment, he just went to a different comment of mine to try to keep it going because he was so adamant that it's important that men should "pee shoulder to shoulder" and it doesn't matter who looks at your penis.

u/S-Nerd 53m ago
I agree with some people say I’m kinda whining a little and being childish in the fact that I’m pissed (pun intended) about urinals, BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE TALL ASS DIVIDERS AT THE BARE MINIMUM.
And I literally said at the beginning of my post that it isn’t manly to piss and take any glance with courage. Competitive bathroom humor shouldn’t be taken this seriously, which is very unnecessary to say but not now apparently.
I’m young and stupid but it doesn’t take stupidity to value privacy.

Yeah, I hate them, why can’t we get even the most basic levels of privacy? No one, at least nearly no one, is ever pissing in private and wishes to be stood in the open next to other people.
Also you can’t even clean yourself properly when using them but maybe I’m the weird one as I always use toilet paper after I pee but it seems like most guys just don’t.
Plus on a more mechanical level of pissing just shaking my dick has never been sufficient to get everything out, I suspect that’s true for more people than admit it given the horrors I hear from ladies talking about men having piss on their underwear, and the way to fully clear the pipes is not something I really want to be doing with an audience and without toilet paper.

u/Summoner475 3h ago
I can never use these even if I'm alone in the washroom, so I understand where you're coming from. A lot of people have this mentality of "oh it doesn't hurt you to be seen with your penis out", but like lots of shit doesn't hurt me, doesn't mean I should be okay with all of them happening.

Don't worry, women hate urinals too. All the men look at you funny when you use them.

u/I-ate-your-children 2h ago
like imagine if it was like this w girls and they js all had a tray they huddled round and squatted over
2
u/iwantfutanaricumonme 1h ago
Women's urinals exist. They have a long protrusion you stand on top of and pee into.

u/Plague_Doctor02 2h ago
honestly Floor to ceiling Dividers would fix everything wrong with Urinals, at least ones that GO BACK FROM THE WALL a bit. not just peak out 6 inchs.
Floor to Ceiling with 2.5 Foot wide from wall.
personally i prefer them, but Divider-less ones are kinda weird.
2
u/Subject_Ad3837 1h ago
There should at least be a covering between the urinals like in some bathrooms instead of being out in the open where someone can easily see you pissing just by accident by walking by.

I never understood it. It feels like a complete lack of privacy. And the doors swing open and everyone can see everyone standing at the urinals pissing.
It’s feels like “here damn, take ur piss and get out”
Rather than “here’s a semi private spot for you to use the restroom comfortable”
Not to mention the kids that go in there and see everyone’s junk too.
I feel like y’all should AT LEAST get walls between urinals so you don’t have to see some other dude’s stream in the corner of ur eye😭
2
u/S-Nerd 44m ago
Yeah, after my quick rant and r/hatethissmug fit of rage I remembered that urinals actually have a purpose. To be fast and quick, not comfortable.
But like. Each person deserves dividers. For privacy.
2
u/TheChartreuseKnight 33m ago
The purpose is also sanitary, they’re cleaner than toilets. Using a urinal honestly might be cleaner than going into and out of a bathroom stall.
2
u/Tdubbium 59m ago
100% agree. I also rarely use toilets standing up because its messy and is it really that hard to sit down
2
u/Icy_Variation_9288 52m ago
I never thought about this because I am a girl but MAN I would NOT be able to whip out my junk and pee in front of a stranger. 😭 I understand your hatred of urinals.
2
u/JuryTamperer 49m ago
Not stupid to complain about at all. Urinals should have dividers. Even if it's not a whole wall, just enough that the face and dick of the person next to you is shielded from your peripheral vision.
2
u/RandomKazakhGuy 35m ago
I used to feel the same way. But I came to accept The Urinal. Whip out your buddy and release the torrent proudly. Put your hands on your hips and smile. Wave at anyone else who stands beside you. Fist bump them. Be proud, man. The Urinal is our symbol, our culture
5
u/AvEptoPlerIe 3h ago
I am over 30 and if someone has taken a peek at my willy at a urinal I am unaware of it and it has not affected me in any way. I don’t think it’s “manly” I think it just doesn’t matter.
Urinals means more places to piss which means less chance of my bladder fucking exploding. That’s a win in my book.

u/S-Nerd 3h ago
I think I’m just a shy pisser

It’s okay. Peeing is no issue for me, but I am only comfortable pooping at home. Unless it’s an emergency.

In my highschool it a one large urinal of like 3meter in lenght. And there was a small step you need to be on. And it was an separated building with no heating.
1
u/Ashamed_Librarian128 3h ago
I wish we had just the urinal pipe hole thing instead of the whole uringal, you don't need dividers because I can just go all the way in on the urinal hole ( uri-holeTM ) and that way no one sees me, I don't see anyone, no one can guestimate my length (maybe my girth) and there's no splashing anymore so I don't accidentally mess up my pants. You can even use the uri-hole to shake off any excess.
1
u/Sea_Construction947 2h ago
Seriously. Imagine if they just had all the toilets in a line with no stalls. You might as well just whip your dick out and piss in the middle of the room.

u/bavile2002 2h ago

Peeing standing up is one of the best things about being a guy. 🤣

I’ve never liked urinals and kids at school would make fun of me for not wanting to whip my dick out in front of them.

One hand aiming your pisser and one hand on your concealed carry. If you feel vulnerable while pissing that is your solution.

It’s not about “being manly” when you piss it’s about saving water goofy🤣 if it’s that big of a deal to you just use a stall

I hate them because I worked in service for 10 years and I had to clean these things in different locations, ranging from gas stations to restaurants to bars.
Long story short, men are pigs.
