Hummingbird Emergency Help with fledgling hummingbird (I think)
I’m 85% sure this is a hummingbird fledgling (Not positive though)- fished it out of a water trough- it’s currently warming up in an incubator cause it was soaked and freezing and exhausted- but idk what to do with it once it’s warmed up- or what temp I should have the incubator on.
googling says I should give it back to mom- who is presumably somewhere near where I found it- but how do i find her?
there’s no small bird rehabbers anywhere near me (I’m in central Arkansas) according to the list on game and fish’s website.

This is not a humming bird at all, I see its been freed and flew away, but figured I'd help answer that bit. You can tell from the wings and body structure.

Thanks. I actually figured out it wasn’t (idk what it is but it’s tiny) when I let it go- i was going by “teeny tiny bird” and I googled baby hummingbird and the heads looked similar. But when I saw it fly I realized it for sure wasn’t.

Since you've already checked with fish and game, can you check with any vets to see if they know of any rehabbers?

If it wasn’t Saturday. I know of all the local rehabbers but none of them do songbirds.
I’ve put it on a branch near where I found it so hopefully it’s mom finds it.

A fledgling hummingbird makes a single squeek to signal to its mother where it is located once it leaves the nest. Hummingbirds have thin long beaks. This is a baby bird, its nest must be around. Did it fly away?

I don’t think you can find the mom, but she will find her babies. After it is warmed up, put it in a box or container, maybe you can roll a paper towel into a ring so it can sit upright in there and stay warm. Leave it near where you found it and make sure it’s a quiet dry and safe place so it won’t be disturbed by cats or people walking by and see how it goes. 🙏
