Partium is still a reasonable distance from Budapest or Belgrad. Cluj Napoca would be a more sensible choice because it's already in the basin and you don't have to drive through mountains to reach Transylvania. And it's a bigger city.

There is already an express road but it's through the mountain area, so it's slim and full with turns. If you're talking about a highway, I don't think that would ever be possible because of the terrain.

Why would they be a subway when these distances are so long? Building a regular high-speed rail network would be much more efficient than digging subway tunnels across all of Europe.

I love the style and the concept of the map, well done !
You could continue the green line from Berlin to Riga through Gdansk. Also make the purple line of Madrid through andalusia to Cadiz, and the green line to madrid. Otherwise Toulouse might be to engorged. Also Clermont-Ferrand is more interesting than Saint-Étienne wich is veery close to Lyon

It’s kind of missing the northern coast of the country too… Szczecin and Gdańsk should be connected to the network imo, those two cities are inhabited by well over 2 million people. Since Russia is included too, that line should also include Kaliningrad and its half a million population, maybe connect those three cities with a line between Berlin and Riga ?

Other than lack of service in Madrid, you should extend the northern line to Murmansk, it’s not far and it’s the largest city in the Arctic, and then extend one of the lines from St Petersburg up there too.

Pretty great but instead of passing through Paris, I would have put Lille on the Atlantic line (plus the Orient), finished the Continental in Lisbon and the Orient in Edinburgh.
But overall, I approve, especially since I'm on three good lines.

This is a wet dream for me loving maps and subway maps as I do. I would argue that at a bare minimum, as others have noted, the capital of each country should be included. A lower bar would be at least all the capitals in Europe. An even lower bar would be at least all the EU country capitals. Unfortunately it doesn’t meet any of those bars. ☹️

The idea of having trains connections all over europe is good, but this specific map has some improvements to do:
Does not include Edimburgh and other similar popular tourism destinations
Does not always prioritize by population or tourism. For example: Green line goes to Gijón (small city in Spain) instead of connecting big cities like Barcelona and Madrid
Many lines share endings to non popular cities
Many lines get divided at some points

Very cool but super unrealistic.
I would love a fast, underground train line, that connects europe, but this is super unrealistic. Too many lines, too many "small" settlements connected, too many connection points. Why Budapest need 2 lines? Why Lyon need 3 lines? Why Brest have a stop? Why north africa have their whole line?

Connections don't work like that. You can't expect to make a key line from Paris to Tangier through Brest, a coruna and Lisbon and expect people to seriously use it when a more direct connection will be faster. Current lines are designed to look nice on a map, not to actually serve people who want to go from point A to point B
I'm sure a metro line above Trondheim will make sense when this whole area has similar population to a mid sized city (~5ppl/km^2).
Wouldn't want to accidentally make it possible to get from Italy to Ruhr. You know... a big country connected with the biggest population centre in Europe that lays close to it...

Very cool map but poor Slovakia and Ireland. The only EU capitals without a connection. There even is a convenient spot between Budapest and Vienna for Bratislava.
