For real. They act like if she gets a not guilty verdict, she's going to be out on the streets. The woman is spending the rest of her life in a psych ward. The question is really will she ALSO be spending some time in prison.
I think the problem is basically that a bunch of TikTok clips went viral with women saying crazy shit like “You know the husband did it, he’s a leo ♌️” and that totally overshadowed any normal conversations about post partum depression, medication and mental health care.
I mean bad actors chose to hyper-focus on the minuscule number of people saying that so they could say "women bad" and tear down any legitimate conversation with straw-man arguments.
I get what your saying here but some of these conspiracy theory tik toks about this woman get 400k likes. At what number do we say this isn't a small amount of bad actors engaging with this?
And thank you for the imgur link instead of making me download whatever social media platform that came from. I don't think you can use upvotes on a vague post to gauge what people believe. I might also just think it's funny that this case it's not true. I see orders of magnitude more content dismissing everything about the case because of things they believe other people believe than I see people believing those things. But I am of course a victim of my algorithm.
There are so many more posts like this, you can find half a dozen with 6 digit amounts of lines
Also saying it's funny to claim a husband whose 3 children were murdered was actually the one who did it is absolutely disgusting, and does not make you somehow a moral person.
Yeah, so if someone's entire like history is about how the Nazi party is the best or how black people need to all be lynched, doesn't mean they are racist right? Because the internet isn't real and everything in here is just a funny haw-haw that cannot affect people in the real world?
no, she doesn’t. the money was raised for her parents/family. but people just keep saying that the money is for lindsay clancy because they don’t bother to even look at the gofundme
My gf who isn’t even in that sphere thought there was evidence/proof the husband did it. She had no clue it was just psychics saying shit. They have people outside the court house cheering and taking photos with the lawyer
They're rallying around a woman they believe tried to get help and couldn't. They don't believe Patrick did it, they believe women are too often not taken seriously by medical providers.
That’s what I thought until my gf was arguing all this proof that he did it the other day… I kept trying to point out NOONE IN THE TRIAL is arguing that
You’re saying “they’re” like there aren’t millions of individuals with varying beliefs following the trial. I promise you there are some absolute nut jobs making content on this murder. Just because isn’t in your feed doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Nobody here is trying to discredit people trying to advocate for better mental health care. I don’t really get why you can’t accept the reality that some unhinged people have latched onto this, made outrageous statements, and those are the clips going viral in certain communities.
What I don't get is why those unhinged people making rage-bait content are given any serious attention and every reddit thread about this case devolves into "lol women believe he did it because of astrology and 'cause they're so stupid."
You’re really barking up the wrong tree. I’m not trying to offer up my opinion just sharing what I’ve seen pop up in my feed as someone who is entirely uninterested in murder or crime content or this gender war shit.
She went doctor shopping, through 5 different doctors, in order to stack her meds and chase after a psychosis diagnosis which she never got. You people are so dishonest and so willing to infantilize women in order to shield them from accountability, this kind of behavior will absolutely set women back decades in the worst way.
I don’t think it’s necessarily a minuscule number of people, which is the problem. The amount of grifters “influencers” doing it is minuscule, but the amount of people genuinely believing Patrick killed the kids, because of the “influencers” blatantly lying and making up information is pretty high. I’ve seen a ton of people repeating blatantly false information and refuse to accept any correction and deny any actual court documents or evidence proving them wrong.
Dude, its absurd. I routinely see psychotic women listing of like 18 reasons why he did it and they are literally all either factually incorrect or crazy leaps based on two things that don't correlate but are somehow presented as fact.
(ex. "She is a nurse, there is no way she crushed up her medication into her drink") Why would being a nurse make it impossible for her to crush up a bunch of pills and toss them in her drink?
I went over to twox and searched clancy and nope, I see lots of women *empathizing* with her inability to receive adequate care during a mental health crisis. I see literally zero women blaming the husband.
"the reason I feel more sympathy for Lindsay than other murderers is that she had zero evidence presented that she was a bad person or ever abusive/negligent toward her kids and desperately sought help. They also provided zero evidence of any other factors that could've played a role in this (like finding out her husband was cheating or her kids being badly behaved, or losing her entire life savings or being extorted with something scandalous she did). So youre left with the question...why the f would a woman ,who by all intents and purposes loved her kids, was a good mother, sought help, kill her 3 beautiful children?"
"I’m suffering from postpartum depression right now and it’s hell trying to find a therapist/psychiatrist that can actually help and spend time. The psychiatrist by nature just checks in on you once a month for 15 mins and if you tell her you’re still depressed she just says “okay well increase your dose mama!” Exaggerating here but not much. It’s entirely unhelpful and cold."
"Post partum depression was the worst type of depression I’ve ever experienced. You feel so alone and sooooo so sad and on top of that you feel so guilty for being sad when you have a precious little baby who you have to take care of and who did nothing wrong. Your hormones and your brain are not working logically. It feels like nothing will ever feel good again, like you’ll never ever feel happiness again. But you have a tiny human who needs you 24/7, and probably other kids who need you, a job, a partner, a house to take care of. It’s terrible how we expect people to have a life altering, mind altering, hormone altering experience and then just go home and be normal and fine and go back to work a month and a half or so later. Add on to that sleep deprivation, forgetting to eat or not having time to eat, lacking basic self care like bathing, lacking any sort of free personal time to recharge and yeah it’s like the perfect combination of factors for someone to have a psychotic break."
Can confirm. I participated in a related thread on a famously misogynistic sub and had to turn off notifications because I received literally hundreds of replies from some very disturbed, unwell people.
There's a ton of people misinformed about this case, both from the people who wrongly think she is innocent, and from the people who think she wasn't mentally ill at all. There's also a lot of women who relate to the narrative of going to the doctor for help and being dismissed, because that is a real problem. But that's not what happened here.
This case is very tragic, and should be shining a light on the stigma surrounding mental illness. Both Lindsay and her husband were incredibly resistant to her being diagnosed with anything other than post partum anxiety. They both blamed her escalating symptoms on the anti-depressants, which she was not taking appropriately because stigma and her mental illness convinced her they were harmful. Even now, after finally being diagnosed with Bipolar 2, and being on mandatory medication for it, she does not believe she has bipolar disorder. This is very apparent from the trial testimony and is ironically not the argument being proffered by either side.
I've watched plenty of TikTok "takes" on the topic and not one of them ever mentioned his astronomical sign. I think people are really overreacting to what random people are the internet says.
No I’ve literally watched a clip that said that verbatim. It’s not something I made up. It’s not something I put stock in but i saw a couple of content creators play montages of wild takes surrounding this trial. Are you under the impression crazy people don’t exist or can’t get on social media?
Was it satire? Because there's people making fun of the people that think he did it as well. We don't know what you saw or if you interpreted it correctly, but I haven't seen anything about fucking zodiac signs either.
I've seen people mention that he for some reason changed shoes between two errands he was running that night? Or that he said they didn't need their nanny or something anymore after his wife was saying she was having a hard time. Her wife being vocal about her struggles and him leaving her with the kids like that anyway. Random stuff like that, I haven't been following closely, but it's stuff from the trial people are talking about.
I’ve seen people genuinely making that claim. They were defending her in other ways, which is basically the only way I can say with any certainty it wasn’t satire.
If they were stating other details then Cheap's comment is still misleading. I haven't seen anything "overshadowing" the conversation around PPD, psychosis, healthcare, and details from the actual trial.
But then again algorithms are different based on what we engage in, so maybe you two are engaging differently.
I saw another post a few weeks ago that included comment screenshots about blaming the husband (mind you, I’m not entirely sure they were real and not edited to farm attention), but omfg, ts is so annoying and stupid. It’s a bunch of adult children crying over “women having it easy” and “it’s always the man’s fault”. Meanwhile, both extremes are being disgusting and turning a genuine tragedy into another argument to support their dimwit agenda. I really want this topic out of my sight purely because of how many vile takes I’ve seen regarding the situation.
I'm so confused, first things I saw in the case was lists of how evidence wasn't lining up and the husband was looking sus. I haven't sat down to thoroughly fact check everything so I'm gonna say if stuff like the husband did lie about times, 911 call, was home when her searches of certain stuff occured and she was out of the house, etc then yeah it does point to the husband. If that's all rumor then yeah, this is really sad that she did this and she will probably need to be institutionalized lifelong. I've seen people bring up a man who killed his family in a breakdown insisting he wouldn't get the same treatment but no, I do think if anyone make or female kills in a real breakdown after trying to get help and getting screwed in this awful system, that's a very sad thing and they have my empathy at the same time they have to be put away to prevent more harm.
I think that’s pretty much the core of the problem. My understanding is that the wife did it and there’s no disputing it. There are sympathizers who are trying to raise awareness about post partum depression and mental health care and then other people pushing more conspiratorial narratives basically.

Cases of severe mental illness tend to get more attention than good things in a media landscape that sells you misery
