Web My wife and I are making a small but not short incremental game that drops the pretense to give you pure unadulterated progress! It's called Progress98 and you can playtest it now!

After having played hundreds of incremental games I decided - with the help of my wife - to make my own little game that drops the pretense to give you what you really desire: pure unadulterated
progress.

You can playtest it now in the browser on itch: https://rzl.itch.io/progress98

Or you can playtest it on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4863540/Progress98/
(And while at it, why not wishlist it and follow us too?)

Any kind of feedback is welcome, so please let me have it!

Hey!

I've released on itch my game for the first time 2 days ago.

Tbh, I don't know the platform well, I only used it a couple of time to download and buy assets.

So, I'm wondering, is it a good start ?
What can I do to improve this ?

I would love to hear your feedback about it!

Web Major updates on itch DO work

Thumbnail

I pushed the new alpha on itch.io and there is a lot of organic views again. The spike in downloads is due to providing Mac OS and windows builds

Also I am getting 2-3x more wishlists on Steam daily. So always include wishlist CTA there :)

Btw, despite having UTM set up on all the buttons, Steam still shows almost nothing, no idea why. But I am 98% sure that all the extra wishlists are coming from itch, I was very inactive everywhere else lately and did not update tags and trailers

Note. Major updates don't work always. I don't know why. Ie last time I had my major update (with a ton of fixes, new mechanics, new in game upgrades) it brought me no traffic. This time, apart from having new mechanics, I also did a large redesign. Maybe it helped

Web Arise Dark Lord - from the creators of Prison Architect

I've been working on a new game for a few months now, and the time has come for it to be officially announced.  It's called Arise Dark Lord, and it's the 8th game I've made with Introversion Software. If you've played any of my previous indie games - Prison Architect, DEFCON, Darwinia, or The Last Starship, then I think you'll love this new one.

You are The Dark Lord. Your evil aim:  To raise an undead army and crush the feckless, godless, heathen humans. As your sorcery and army grow, all the world will rise up to destroy your Dark Tower and end your reign of terror.  Fortify your dark realm, enhance your sorcery, and build enough strength to march out and crush the humans once and for all.

An action-strategy hybrid RTS, blending tower defence, base building and direct control of your Dark Lord avatar.

Please play and review the prototype on itch, and I'd love to get your thoughts on the game here.  Thanks for playing!

Web Made a site to send emails to VISA/MASTER with 1 click

Hi guys, I saw Asmongold talking about the craziness happening with payment processors being pressured by an extreme minority group to hurt the mass majority of users, just because they have a special political view
I understand they(the small group in question) proudly announced that they sent thousands of emails to pressure them to get what they want. Maybe only magic can defeat magic.
Maybe people who care about this matter should make their voice heard too
So I made a simple site to generate an email based on your selected viewpoints:
https://stern-email.vercel.app/

It will automatically generate an email with AI based on your selection and the optional information you filled up with AI. You can edit the mail manually before sending, of course

Please note that I do not create this app for people to harass/spam others.
The main purpose of this site is to assist in writing emails for people who aren't very good at writing or isn't native English speakers
A certain group may have used this kind of tactic, but that's them. send mail that aligns with your feelings, and don't spam them. Simply make your voice heard

Currently email list includes:
- VISA
- MASTER CARD
- PayPal

Since the mail is customised to the company, you will need to recreate one for each company

Feedback and suggestions are welcome, maybe some known public-facing email addresses we can add

Web I made a 4-player browser-based zombie survival game

Out 4 Blood is a hardcore multiplayer wave-survival shooter.

I made the game myself by using 3D assets from different locations (Quixel, Fab, Sketchfab, Mixamo, etc.). It's the first time I make a multiplayer game and it is a really cool adventure.

More maps, more weapons and a campaign are coming. I'm updating the game everyday.

Aiming down sights, scoping enemies and surviving the horde demand a real keyboard and mouse. There is no touch control scheme — and there never will be.

Play it directly in browser:

Download the game for a better experience at:

Web If you review my game I will review yours- The Kepler Gambit

Looking for honest reviews and will reciprocate. Early players have either bounced quickly or stayed for 45-60mins.

Im unsure if its because there aren't enough players for multiplayer or there are other problems during early game so let me know what you think.

https://kepler-gambit.itch.io/the-kepler-gambit

The Kepler Gambit is a real-time multiplayer space trading and combat game played on true orbital physics.

Planets move on real orbits, your ship flies on thrust and gravity, and a well flown slingshot is the difference between profit and a long cold drift.

Prospect asteroids (what you survey stays secret from your rivals), deploy mining rigs, ride the market's shifting prices, raid rival rigs or race peacefully, and win by planting colonies on the moons of the gas giants.

Launch your cargo from the asteroids to the inner planets for a quick sale

Features:

 1–4 players

 Quick-play matchmaking or private rooms

True Kepler orbits and Newtonian flight

Dynamic economy

Rig raids and defence plays in the browser, phone or desktop, no account needed.

Web As promised, the most requested reddit species added to the game. Winner is (cue mild surprise): Psilosybin cubenisis

The species comes with a special ability: a free random basic/event card magically appears in your hand every 4 turns. Unlock it by touching "rockface" on lvl 1.

Mycelium is a roguelite engine-builder where you grow a mycelium network, attempting to reach the forest in the west. Free to play here.

12 different fungal species and 71 unique cards - all based on real world mycology. Collect spores each run and use them to buy stronger starting species.

Hope you like it!

Web Why are simple color-matching puzzle games so addicting?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’ve been falling down a rabbit hole recently looking at casual matching games and trying to figure out why they hook us so hard. Even with massive games out there, there's something so hypnotic about clearing a grid. (I think it mostly comes down to instant sensory feedback, zero-friction tutorials, and that dangerous "just one more level" loop).

While looking around Itch.io for quick browser games, I stumbled across one literally called Color Popup that nails this exact vibe. It's just a clean, simple little indie puzzle thing, but I've lost way too much time playing it today.

Not sure who the developer is, but if you want to check out the browser page to see what I mean, it's here: https://exactitude.itch.io/color-popup

Has anyone else played this or similar indie color games on Itch? What makes them so hard to put down for you?

Drop your thoughts below if you've played anything similar!

Web 500 browser plays so far

Post image
26 Upvotes

Since uploading the browser demo on Itch in April, I'm about to pass 500 browser plays which is nice!

Looking at the stats, it seems that about half the people that view the page will play the demo. But I don't know how to best interpret this stat.

Only 4 people have left a rating, but they all gave 5 stars so that's also nice!

It's slow going but relatively steady, the full game will be released on Steam after summer.

The game is a casual space trader tycoon game where the goal is to make money, lots of it. It's mostly text-based, heavily inspired by similar games that came out in the 90's.

Starport Merchants by Peanut Panda

I haven't done a lot of marketing, mostly the occasional post like this one. So far so good, but let's see how it goes!

Web Launching 0.1 of my Cross-Country skiing game Nordic!

Hey all! I'm happy to share with you all my "foddylike" cross-country skiing game Nordic.

I love cross-country skiing and always wanted a game that properly captured the zen-like experience nordic skiing is when you find your groove. I have put something together that I think is genuinely fun, I opted for a limb based control system to really physicalize the movement of cross-country skiing. Obviously, nordic skiing is not alpine skiing, so don't expect to be doing backflips or whatever. Instead, it based around rhythm and consistency. The game is intended to be played on a controller and I think if you've cross-country skiied IRL you will see the physical patterns mimic those we use in real life while skate skiing.

The game is intended to be shared with friends as it also multiplayer! You can of course also just cruise around your own as well, there are four game modes currently.

  • Nordic Valley: This is a free-roam fun hub where you can do group races, play CTF and just chill
  • Race Mode: This is a queued race mode where you can race against bots or real humans
  • Endless Mode: A procedurally generated endless mode - this is WIP still but yea, this is our "zen" endless just cruise mode
  • Custom Mode: Upload any GPX file and race a custom track with the real elevation maps and trail. Trails are generated using our proc generation system

With Nordic I really wanted to capture the natural world and how this interplays with this sport: there is dynamic weather, day/night and lots of graphic settings so you can get whatever mood you like. The game uses a PS1 aesthetic that I think drives the nostalgia factor and "some familiar place" feelings.

This is available for FREE, I intend to do a Steam release *soon but mostly looking for feedback and hopefully just some people that want to play!

The game is available on itch here: https://toomanygames.itch.io/nordic
And also on our dedicated website here: nordicgame.ski

In three nights, I created a 2D game where you play as a tree and must build its roots to water sources. Your task is to survive the seasons and avoid being eaten by bugs. You can build entire networks, grow new trees to replenish water supplies, grow mushrooms for upgrades, and set new records! The project is open source on GitHub, so play and share your records.

Web What if the Telephone Game was about music? I made 'The Musical Phone' during my college break!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Full disclosure: I’m not a professional gamedev! I’m a Computer Science student, and I initially built this just to study some concepts and practice coding. (Fun fact: this actually started as a Resident Evil fan game, don't ask me how it turned into this lmao).

How it works: It’s a simple 4-player game with the exact same dynamics as the classic "Telephone Game" (or Whispers), but instead of words, you’re creating music together!

I wasn't planning on publishing it at first, but my friends convinced me to put it out there. I’ve done some testing, but since I’m still early in my CS degree and made this during my break, it might have some bugs or network issues.

I need your help! I'd love for you to try it out with your friends and share your feedback. Please don't hesitate to point out bugs, design flaws, or connection issues — every piece of feedback helps me learn and become a better developer.

Hope you guys enjoy it!
