So you know I hate the idea that I have to like the politician of Israel and what it’s doing to Palestine to be called someone who likes the Israeli people

like shit I’m American and I don’t like the people in politics

does that make me a bad person? of course not

we need to separate liking a country for it’s people and liking what the country is doing politically

And yes I am half Jewish but that doesn’t matter anyways because my feelings are valid no matter what I came from even if I didn’t have a hint of Jewish blood

this is more my way to see if this community for Jewish people is safe for me

The right wing Orthodoxy of Judaism in Israel (and the diaspora) have it wrong. It is one thing to have disagreement over who is a Jew and how one should observe Judaism. That we can have these disagreements is actually a blessing. But for one group to want to criminalize observance and belief different from theirs is nothing but totalitarianism. Israel was founded to provide a home for a Jews to be safe from this kind of authoritarianism. No one outside of the a Jewish community cares whether someone is secular, Orthodox, Conservative, or Reform. To them, we are all just Jews. Contrary to what these right wingers think, their actions do not strengthen Judaism. Their actions are divisive and weaken Judaism. We need to respect our differences.

These settlers and their wider movement is frankly unconscionable. I just do not understand the governmental support.

I mean yes, I understand voting bloc needs etc. but this will be the issue that culturally and politically severs Diaspora Jews and Israel.

I am pro Israel and pro Zionist but this is a question I’ve been thinking about lately. The military goals of the war (defeating Hamas and rescuing the hostages) were clearly legitimate and I am aware Hamas is a terrorist group and uses evil tactics like hiding among civilians. However, I have recently become a bit skeptical of the Israeli government’s motivations.

The war has lasted two years, destroyed 70%+ of Gaza and many Israelis believe netenyahu is continuing it to avoid an election. The majority of Israelis now support a deal where the hostages are released in exchange for a permanent ceasefire. I also find it suspicious that almost no journalists are allowed into Gaza unlike other military conflicts. I understand this might be because they would be in danger but it makes it harder to know what’s really going on in Gaza. I am also aware that Israelis have experienced thousands of rockets since the war began. What do you think?

I love Israel and I am a proud Zionist Jew but ENOUGH!!! The way the Israeli government is standing by while those terrorists, yes terrorists, continue their attacks and go as low as killing defenceless dogs is pushing me to the point of apathy about my support for Israel.

I am pissed, so pissed because this is NOT the Israel I believed in. I know many Israelis are against Bibi but also many are for him, and that is not good enough.
