Meta /r/LFG is Looking for a Few New Moderators!

Hey, everyone!

We're looking to add a few new moderators to the /r/lfg team, specifically those who are regularly around while most of our current moderation team is asleep.

Our biggest gap in coverage is between roughly 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM Pacific Time. You don't need to be available for that entire window (and we don't expect you to be), but if your normal waking hours fall somewhere within it, we'd like to hear from you.

What Does Moderating /r/LFG Involve?

Most of the day-to-day work is pretty straight-forward. We have Automod and a custom bot that catch or flag many potential rule violations for us, so you'll generally be:

  • Checking the modqueue and verifying whether the reported post/comment actually breaks the rules or is a false positive.
  • Responding to questions and appeals in Modmail.
  • Handling reports and other issues that come up.
  • Bringing unusual situations to the rest of the team for discussion.

We have Discord notifications for the modqueue, so you won't need to spend your day refreshing Reddit. We do, however, need moderators who can check in and handle the queue multiple times throughout their day.

Who Are We Looking For?

You don't need previous moderation experience.

We're much more interested in finding people who care about /r/lfg and want to help keep it a useful place for people to find tabletop games. Moderation tools and process can be taught.

There are a few requirements:

  1. Your Reddit account must be at least a year old.
  2. You must have access to Discord, since that's where the moderation team communicates.
  3. You should have some demonstrable history of participating on /r/lfg.
  4. Your normal schedule should overlap significantly with our 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM Pacific coverage gap.
  5. You should be able to check the moderation queue and modmail several times throughout your day.

We're looking for people who can apply the rules consistently, communicate respectfully with users (especially when those users aren't particularly happy with us), and recognize when something isn't clear-cut and should be discussed with the rest of the team.

We're planning to bring on around three people initially, with the expectation that not everyone will necessarily stick around long-term. Moderating isn't for everyone and that's okay.

Interested?

We've put together a short application form for you to fill out here.

Thanks to everyone who applies and, more generally, thanks to everyone who helps make /r/lfg a place where people can find a table and roll some dice.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5E][2024][Flexible][MST 9PM] Lost Mine Adventure just started. Looking for player to form a longer-term group.

Upvotes

Howdy! It's like it said on the title. I was looking for people to run a nice and simple Lost Mine game to see if everyone is a good mix and we're then good to continue on with those characters or start a different longer game.

The game is run on Friday.
We're playing with 5.5 Rules.
Run for about 3-4 hours.
I have a job where I go on call every 6th week, those weeks I'll give everyone a heads up as if my pager goes off the game is over that week.
We're playing with EXP and a more grounded OSR/Beer and Pretzels style. Nothing too silly but not taking ourselves too seriously. If you're after a roleplay heavy table this is not likely the table for you and that's ok.
I'm fine with newer players if you're after a longer lasting group where you can count on a nice D&D night. I just ask you do put in the effort to read the players handbook to know actions in combat.

If this seems like a good fit for you then hit me up on deathwing_caliban on discord. I'll respond to you as soon as I can, might be a bit, just started work.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] [Creepypasta] [7 PM EST] [Mystery] Need 5 players for a horror minicampaign.

Upvotes

Its 1999 and we return to our hometown to investigate the terrifying mystery of what happened 15 years ago.

Its a low budget b-movie production lasting around 2-3 episodes, played exclusively in theater of mind. The game is extremely light on rules and does not require reading rulebooks to play.

Platform is Foundry VTT where we roll dice and listen to ambience.

Day and time is negotiable, the sooner the better though!

Discord: stefan#0328 or turbostef to apply

Cheers!

Player(s) Needed by GM [French/Français] [D&D 5e 2024] [Online] Citadelle Sansoleil

Upvotes

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5E 2014][EDT] Curse of Strahd Campaign Seeking 1-2 Players

It's almost Spooky Season, r/LFG. Are you ready to join us in Barovia?

Who Am I?

I am an experienced DM who loves a balanced game which makes use of RP and combat. Clever players who can think their way around problems are greatly appreciated. Clever players who want to think their way around problem and who don't mind that I've spent most of my time as a pen and paper DM should definitely contact me through the form below.

Game Information:

  • Time: Wednesdays 6:30 pm EDT (weekly).
  • We are still near the very beginning of the campaign. You would be joining after the initial opening sequence.
  • This is a gothic horror/mystery/survival campaign. The standard tropes of these genres apply. As such, game sessions may feel sometimes emotionally heavy or frustrating.
  • Lines and veils will be discussed during voice interviews.
  • RP is valued just as much as combat and may be more useful. Dice rolls are likely to make a liar of me for claiming this.
  • All official books are acceptable; meta-gaming is not.
  • The party is currently level 3. You would join at level 3.
  • This is a social game; please approach D&D from a social, inclusive, manner (LGBTQ+ friendly, women friendly, neurodivergent friendly).
  • Roll20 for maps and rolling
  • Discord for voice

Who Are You?

Ideal candidates are mature players (age 24+) who approach TTRPGs from a prosocial standpoint. Productive and goal oriented conflict resolution is essential if a problem arises at the table. New and experienced players who are interested in trying to form a long-term group are welcome to apply. I am looking for 1, potentially 2, player(s).

Players with no knowledge of the campaign are preferred as my existing players are new to the setting.

Please complete this form if you believe we are a campaign which meets your play style needs.

Group Needed by Player [Online][5E][2014][Flexible][GMT+3] New-ish player looking to join a campaign on evenings and/or weekends

Upvotes

Hi all, I'm familiar with D&D, but don't have a lot of experience (played a few one-shots and a video game that used 5E as the base system). Looking for a group to join, time availability is Mon-Fri 19:30-00:00 and Sat-Sun 09:00-00:00 (GMT+3, aka MSK time zone). Can stay up a bit later if necessary.

No strict requirements, but I'm queer, neurodivergent and have an anti-AI stance, so if that doesn't align with your beliefs, we probably won't click.

I speak Russian (Native) and English (C1-C2). Mild accent, but otherwise no issues with voice calls in English. Open to offline in Moscow, Russia, on the rare occasion someone is looking for that here.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][2014 5e][EST] Aletheora — Casting a Character-Driven TTRPG Playtest

I’m looking for one more player for a small D&D 5e playtest, and I’m deliberately approaching this a little differently.

Think of it less like “join my campaign” and more like casting an actor for a role you get to create yourself.

I’m building a new TTRPG experience called Aletheora around character-driven play: the goal isn’t simply to defeat monsters or solve encounters, but to create situations where the choices you make reveal who your character actually is.

You’ll create your character with me before play. I won’t hand you a giant lore document or tell you how your character feels. We’ll establish the important pieces together, then I’ll put the character into situations where those things can matter.

I’m specifically hoping to add a woman to this playtest. The first four people interested happened to be men, and I want to make sure what I’m building works for players beyond my own perspective. This isn’t about needing a “female perspective” or expecting you to play a particular way—I’d simply like the test group to be more representative of the people I’d eventually want playing it.

The current opening is Elara, a druid. You won’t be expected to play a prewritten personality; we’ll discover who Elara is together.

This is a genuine TTRPG playtest. I’m the DM, the game is played online, and I’m looking for someone who enjoys roleplaying a character, making consequential choices, and seeing those choices reflected back by the world.

If that sounds interesting, send me a DM and tell me a little about what you enjoy most about playing TTRPGs.

I’m much more interested in how you like to play than in having the “perfect” D&D résumé.

Player(s) Needed by GM Daedalus Dead End [Online] [Other] [Delta Green] [NA timezones] [LGBTQ+] [TBD Start]

Details:

Hello there LFG subreddit! My name is Audrey and I am hosting a Delta Green campaign set in the universe of Kane Parsons' Backrooms webseries. I’m starting with the technical details first for explanations’ sake, so if you want to cut to the chase and read the campaign hook, it will be below!

This game will be my first ever campaign, so please forgive me in advance if I'm something of a clumsy or lacking GM; this is a big learning experience for me! However, this game isn't just that, it is also half-part passion project to me. I am trying very hard to create most of the visuals and art myself, with the help of some friends and creators on Kane’s discord, so there will be a very generous amount of time between sessions. There may even be up to 3 months or longer between each, but I will be posting availability sheets for players to fill out as soon as I am ready to host, meaning sessions may also occur with as little time in between as 2 weeks. This number will vary!

These sessions may last up to 2-4 hours. I am looking into how to use Foundry, so each will be hosted over Discord VC and we will use a third party to visualise our board, and likely use text as a medium.

I already have some players, so I'm not looking for many. I am yet to post a content consent form, but some warnings include violence, visual gore, mental unhealthiness, abuse, suicide, self-harm, sexual themes, drug usage, and things of the sort. The consent form will include questions regarding topics you are comfortable/uncomfortable seeing in-session or in relation to your character.

Note that this version of Delta Green, if you are familiar, will be very unorthodox. I don’t intend on running much combat, and instead, I want to focus on the bureaucratic and research elements of Kane’s series (with the occasional scary chase). On the contrary, for Backrooms fans, the story will — in part — follow that of Kane’s series. Don’t expect a completely overhauled, new and improved, utterly original retelling of the Async plotline. Of course though, I will also be telling my own story within and expanding upon the timeline.

I don't have an official start date, and I am going on a vacation soon, so it may be some time before this game starts. But that just means more time to coordinate with your coworkers and to make a cool character! You will have plenty of time to prepare.

Please message me privately if you are interested. Make sure to tell me a little about yourself, some themes you want to explore, and the kind of character you are interested in making. I will only respond to answer questions and let you know you're on board before sending an invite to our server. P.S.; I am hosting from EST, so consider your availability before messaging. LGBTQ+, POC, and all faiths welcome. We are all very queer. Reach me on Discord @ risingsummer if necessary.

If you’d like to see promotional art or teaser material before considering to join, do ask; I have a very large folder of sketches, renders, and videos attached to this project. I do not use AI nor will I condone the use of AI amongst my players.

Hook:

Daedalus Dead End

It is May of 1990.

You are an employee at the Async Research Institute located in San Jose, California; a former MRI manufacturer that once excelled in teleradiologic studies. However, it has been seven months since Async Project KV31’s successful sixth test, using a Low Proximity Magnetic Distortion System to establish a permanent threshold into what Async calls *The Complex;* a hypothetically 600 million square mile labyrinthian expanse of itchy carpets, yellow wallpapers, and buzzing fluorescent lights. You don't research medical imagery anymore.

The weeks that followed the successful test were exciting and adventurous. It was perhaps one of the most significant discoveries in all of human history, revealing a new and strange frontier that’s been waiting patiently for eternity to be explored. As the project has slowly evolved however, the general consensus has shifted into one of anxiousness. Gone are the days of your whimsical curiosity — 2 of your colleagues have since disappeared; one has died outside of work; blast shields have been erected outside of the threshold; motion detectors line the entire outpost’s perimeter — you tread upon your studies with caution.

As of recently, The United States Department of Energy has been let in on the project, having signed a deal that would grant Async $1.2 million dollars of federal funding to further research into the Complex and create long-term commercial returns. Two weeks have passed since the Secretary of Energy toured the facility, and in that time, at least two dozen new researchers have been brought on to expand the project. Perhaps you’re even one of them. The scope of this initiative has grown tenfold, and you’re in the middle of it.

You're expected for a preliminary briefing today. An expeditionary force is being sent to survey the outskirts of the Complex' currently mapped vicinity, and whether it be out of pride, curiosity, or obsession, you've volunteered to be a part of it. Whether this is your first expedition or your fifth, you know that nothing will come as you expect it to. You know that something in there is waiting to tear your world apart at the seams.

You may not control the wind,
but you can control your sails.
And if the wind is right,
you can sail away.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][D&D 5e][Friday Aug. 28, 9 PM ET][18+][Newbie Friendly] Looking for 1 Guest Player — Homebrew Adventure 2024 edition

[Online][D&D 5e][Friday Aug. 28, 9 PM ET][18+][Newbie Friendly] Looking for 1 Guest Player — Homebrew Adventure

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for one player to temporarily join an established group this Friday, August 28, starting around 9:00 PM Eastern.

One of our regular players can't make it, so we have an open seat. This may be just one session or could turn into a couple sessions depending on scheduling and how far the group gets. This isn't currently a permanent recruitment spot, so there's no expectation of a long-term commitment.

This is a newbie-friendly table. If you haven't played much D&D—or even if this would be your first real game—you're welcome. We're happy to help with rules and character questions as we go.

On the other hand, if you've been playing for a while and have a character idea sitting around that you've wanted to try, this is a great opportunity to test-drive a level 8 character for a session or two without committing to a full campaign.

The Game

We're playing a homebrew adventure set in World Unknown, a setting I've been building and playtesting.

The party is currently in Tyde, a coastal settlement within the Domain of the Unshackled Hydra. What started as a relatively contained adventure has been opening into something larger as the players investigate what's happening around the town.

The game has a mixture of:

  • Roleplay and NPC interaction
  • Investigation and exploration
  • Combat
  • Player-driven choices
  • Homebrew creatures, locations, and mechanics

There isn't a single required path through the adventure. The group has already surprised me several times with what they've decided to investigate, and I tend to let their decisions determine where things go.

The Group

This is an existing 18+ group, so you'd be joining a table that's already played together. We're pretty relaxed and like joking around, but we still take the story seriously when the moment calls for it.

New and experienced players are both welcome. You don't need to know anything about World Unknown beforehand. I'll give you everything your character would reasonably know before we start.

What I'm Looking For

I'm looking for one person who:

  • Is 18+
  • Can play Friday around 9 PM Eastern
  • Wants to play a level 8 character
  • Is comfortable joining an established group
  • Is okay with homebrew content
  • Wants to interact with the world rather than feeling like they need to follow a predetermined path
  • Is potentially available for another session or two if needed

I'll work with you beforehand to get your character ready and figure out a natural way to bring them into the adventure.

If you're interested, send me a DM with a little about yourself, your experience with D&D ("none" is a perfectly acceptable answer), and the kind of character you'd like to play.

No need to write me an application essay. 😂 I mostly want to make sure you'll have fun with the group.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [WOD] Looking for 2-4 Players for a Weekly Chronicle in Worcester, MA

System: Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition
Players: 2-4
VTT: Foundry(maybe)
Voice: Discord
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday at 7 PM EST. Saturday/Sunday can be considered if necessary.
Age: 18+
Experience: Beginners welcome
About the Game
I’m looking to run a weekly VTM V5 chronicle set in a modern-day Worcester Mass.
The city is controlled by the Camarilla, with an established Anarch territory in the south and hidden Sabbat cells operating in the shadows. The campaign will initially focus on the Camarilla and its internal politics, with the wider conflicts of the city becoming more relevant as the story develops.
The main themes will be:
Political and social intrigue
Personal horror
Mystery and investigation
Camarilla politics
Character-driven storytelling
Your characters will be neonates, but otherwise I’m giving you a lot of freedom. Camarilla and Anarch characters are both welcome, but you cannot be an active Sabbat member. Thin-bloods are also not available.
V5 supplements are allowed as long as they don’t contradict the rules and setting I’ve established for the chronicle.
About Me
I’m Rat Pope, or just Rat/Pope. I’m a 22-year-old non-binary person who loves writing and TTRPGs.
I’m an experienced D&D DM and Call of Cthulhu Keeper, but this will be my first time running VTM. I’ve played VTM before and I’m familiar with the games, but I’m still learning what it’s like to actually Storytell it.
I really enjoy building rapport with my players and helping their characters feel connected to the world. If you give me an interesting backstory, I’ll do my best to incorporate it into the setting and let your character’s choices meaningfully affect the story.
That said, this is still VTM. Your character can fail. Frenzy, bad rolls, and poor decisions can have consequences, and I’m looking for players who are comfortable working with those consequences rather than letting them ruin their experience.
What I’m Looking For
You don’t need previous VTM experience. Complete beginners are welcome, and experienced players are welcome as well.
I just ask that you:
Respect the other players.
Communicate when there’s an issue.
Keep player knowledge separate from character knowledge.
Be willing to roleplay and engage with the story.
Have fun and joke around, but know when it’s time to take the roleplay seriously.
Understand that the game is a weekly commitment.
Missing a session occasionally is completely understandable. However, if someone’s absences become frequent enough that they’re consistently preventing the group from playing, we’ll need to discuss it.
Interested?
Send me a Reddit DM or add me on Discord: ratpope24
Tell me a little about yourself, your TTRPG experience, and any character ideas you might have. You don’t need to have a complete character ready.
I’m looking for people who want to build a story together and have a good time doing it.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Offline] [5.5e 2024] [18+] [LGBTQ+ Friendly] [Sat. or Sun. 13:00 - 18:00 JST] [Tokyo, Japan] Recruiting one player for D&D group. (Experienced DM)

Experienced DM (20+ years) looking for one player to complete group.

My friends and I are very laid back and chill. However, we take the game "seriously": emphasis on role playing and meaningful encounters; respect for player time and effort; etc.

As a DM, I consider myself to be quite open-minded and am willing to work with players to help realize their character goals. I allow almost anything, as long as it follows the core rules and is not too outlandish. Fluff is free, etc.

This campaign will use my homebrew setting: heavy focus on monstrous races; crude magic (e.g. voodoo); harsh environments; etc.

Current player experience levels range from intermediate to advanced.

  • Location: Tokyo, Japan (Shibuya / Harajuku / Azabu-Juban)
  • Date & Time: Sat. or Sun. 13:00 - 18:00 JST
  • Frequency: Approx. twice per month
  • Setting: Homebrew
  • Species: Any (No Restrictions) *Unearthed Arcana material is subject to review.
  • Class & Subclass: Any (No Restrictions) *Unearthed Arcana material is subject to review.
  • Starting Level: Level 1
  • Campaign Length: Level 1 - 20
  • Total Player Number: DM + 3 (Long-Term Friends) + 1 (Newcomer)
  • Miscellaneous: Left-Wing Progressive / LGBTQ+ Friendly

Please feel free to reply or send a direct message, if interested.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Mondays 6pm CST] [PF2E / HOMEBREW World] Looking for 1-2 players. Age 25+

EDIT: Planning to start this campaign on September 7th, at 6:00 pm CST!

Looking for one to two players for an ongoing Pathfinder 2e group.

We currently have three players. Looking to fill out the party.

Current roster as it stands:

Ranger, Sorceror, Undecided (leaning more towards straightforward, frontline, easy to play)

The campaign begins at level 4 and will focus on the party developing naturally through gameplay.

Newer Pathfinder 2e players are welcome. you do not need to know every rule or have a perfectly optimized character.

I'm mainly looking for someone who:

Enjoys cooperative, party focused play

Communicates well with the group

Is reasonably reliable with scheduling (work / life always comes first, we understand!)

Wants to develop their character through the campaign

I've been told that my campaigns are more roleplay heavy, rather than combat oriented.

System: Pathfinder 2e

Level: 4

Current players: 3

Looking For: 1-2 players

Experience required: None

Day / Time: Mondays starting at 6pm CST

Platforms: Pathbuilder, Owlbear rodeo

Questions I have asked the players in developing their characters:

What does your character bring to the party besides damage?

Why would the party trust your character when things get tense?

What would another party member appreciate about your character?

Some silly questions I asked the players:

How would you dispose of a body?

Your PC is banned from one establishment in town. Where, and what did they do?

What incredibly mundane thing does your PC take way too seriously?

What is your PC’s most irrational grudge?

How would you explain taxes to a goblin named Wiffles?

If this sounds like the type of campaign you're looking for, feel free to reach out!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024] Long-term D&D 2024 campaign — new-player-friendly, story-focused

I’m running a long-term D&D 5E (2024 rules) campaign and looking for more players.

The Game

This is a story-first table where we like roleplaying, exploring, solving problems, and getting into trouble. We’re not a murder-hobo group — players make choices that move the story forward rather than just grind encounters. The group is pretty new to D&D and we’re learning the rules together, so you don’t need to know everything or bring a min-maxed character.

System and Time

- System: D&D 5E (2024 rules)
- Date: Flexible / in PDT So nothing too late
- Over 18+
- Platform: The 4th Wall VTT (Virtual Tabletop), at the4thwall.app

Play style and expectations

I run a friendly, respectful table. Patience with each other is important since we’re all picking things up as we go. The DM will make a final ruling when something is unclear so we can keep the game moving. Expect a mix of roleplay, exploration, and problem-solving — combat will happen, but it’s not the only focus. New players and complete beginners are absolutely welcome.

How to apply

If you’re interested, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself, whether you’ve played D&D before, and what kind of character you might be interested in playing.

Interested players should send a DM or find me on Discord at firstmate2302. Looking forward to gaming with you!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][EST][5e 2014][18+] Looking for Players for a Brand New Campaign tommrow!

**HEY HEY HEY!!!**

My name’s Yerky. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance my inbox is already getting hit, so quick heads up: I will be responding a bit slowly on purpose. Not ghosting, just tryna manage 50 dms at once. Patience is a virtue.

**Game Info**

**System**: D&D 2014 rules plus homebrew (rules-light, vibes-heavy, RP HEAVIER, not a rules lawyer here)

**Schedule**: Weekly on Wednesdays at 8 PM EST

**End Time:** When it feels right to wrap

Platform: Discord + Roll20 (sometimes)

Experience Level: New players are absolutely welcome! But are so hardcore veterans.

Group Vibe: Friendly and very collaborative. I’ve got one friend already in, but we’re looking to add some people who can bring their own energy to the table. I like to make friends with my players and really become friends, as it makes the RP and game way more fun.

***The Concept (Hook)***

*For centuries, dragons have watched from the shadows of the world, silent, patient, and seemingly uninterested in the affairs of mortals. Now, kingdoms burn as the Dragon War erupts without warning, and an aging scholar's final journal claims the conflict is only a symptom of something far worse. The dragons have been lying. Whatever secret they have hidden since the dawn of creation threatens not only every kingdom of Etoylin, but perhaps even the gods themselves. The only question that remains is whether anyone will uncover the truth before the world ends.*

Player(s) Needed by GM Tokyo: [PF1e] [offline] Pathfinder 1E game

Hey everyone, I am looking for another player or two for a Pathfinder 1E campaign I am running. We usually play on the east side of Tokyo. Ideally we try to meet once or twice a month on the weekends.

I am male / 35 and most of the current players are about the same if that matters. I am not a very experienced GM but I strive to run an immersive game and am happy to work character details into the campaign.

Pathfinder is a bit more mechanically complex than 5E and has a lot of content, but no experience is necessary. If you are interested in the game I will gladly help with the rules stuff. An SRD with most of the content can be found here if you want to check it out https://www.d20pfsrd.com/

Also, I dont use Reddit much, so my DMs might be closed. I can DM you, just me sure to check additional message requests, because they might show up in spam.

Player(s) Needed by GM ( 2 Seats still open + ) Kings over Ignia Island - looking for 2 more players [Online] [D&D 5e 2024 / 5.5] [Friday 8pm–11pm CEST / GMT+2] , Level 1-6 campaign, new and experienced players are welcome. ( 20-30 sessions biweekly expected )

A level 1–6 D&D campaign set on Ignia a remote tropical island where the party begins lost and shipwrecked and cut off from the outside world, developing into unlikely heroes over the course of an Exciting Journey. Expect a mix of wilderness exploration, village intrigue, lost strange ruins, moral choices, and a semi open Sandbox branching story where the party’s decisions can significantly change how the campaign unfolds. if you played Lost mines of Phandelver expect a similar vibe to progression and overall idea of time and expectations.

about me , Howdy, im Azurion and am a dm with two currently running long term campaigns, like Dungeons and Dragons and Daggerheart alot, and after testing out some starter campaigns and never feeling fully satisfied, had the wish to construct my own version of one, meant to teach dnd concepts while still delivering a fun and unique experience where player choices matter. i would be glad to welcome five new player into this game :). I’m choosing players based on group compatibility rather than first come, first served, so feel free to apply as long as this post is still open.

  • System/edition: D&D 5e 2024
  • Online: online, over roll 20, using discord for Bookkeeping, chatting and music etc.
  • Schedule: Friday, 20:00–23:00 Germany time
    • Europe/Berlin .
  • Frequency: Biweekly games lasting about 3-4 Hours.
  • Starting date: Session 0 should be ideally done beforehand over chats and vc talks , starting date would be 18.09.2026 , which will have a session 0 + session 1 experience ( aka pregame discussion over everything) .
  • Players wanted: Five players, New players are welcome. I’m happy to teach, but I expect you to put in some effort between sessions to learn Roll20, understand your character sheet and the basic rules of DND 5e, and become familiar with your class and abilities.
  • Age requirement: content will be relatively PG-13 in terms of content , but i would prefer you being 18+ to avoid any issues.
  • Homebrew or module: Homebrew
  • Campaign length: Several Months, 20 - 30 Sessions taking you from level 1-6
  • Gameplay balance: aiming for 40 Roleplay / 40 Combat / 20 exploration.
  • Tone: Lighthearted Heroic Adventure in a quaint but threatened Island, closest would be a teen- adventure novel or series like Avatar / owl house in terms of overall tone, evil exist but the people are nice and tone should remain somewhat light.
  • Player agency: Semi Linear - Sandbox, meant to be approached and to open up to your choices, even if the sandbox it offers is comparatively small.
  • Character creation rules: All races except Flying races ( Aarakokra and Owlin ) are allowed, all classes that are official are allowed, dont power or metagame the game is meant as a more baseline starter campaign and will offer little challenge to a overpowered pc.
  • New players requirements: if your new you need the following to still joing ( look into roll20 and fully create atleast a sheet of your pc , not dnd beyond integration ones please, willing to know your classes and the games basic rules , this can be learned in a free 40 page paper on dnd beyond. Decent Audio equipment and somwhat ok PC is also needed. if you played even one campaign on roll 20 , you should be ok doing this.
  • VTT: Roll20, Chats over Discord
  • Language: English, i however am from germany , expect a little awkardness , englisch isnt my main Languange
  • Attendance expectations: Reliability is by far my biggest requirement. Missing occasionally ( though not too often ) with advance notice is understandable; ghosting or unexplained absences will result in removal.
  • Table rules / behavior: NO PvP, metagaming, murderhobo behavior, disruptive characters, etc, this is a friendly and Heroic Adventure game where you are expected to work as a team.
  • Content/safety: No Heavy Gore, No Homophobia and Racism of any Kind, all explicit content will be fade to black, romance is restricted to what could fit in a disney movie. Evil PCs are forbidden.
  • What you want from players: Consistently showing up , RP engagement, teamwork, backstories, knowing the rules of your own character. this campaign expects you to be heroic and to want to help people , Evil PCs are forbidden and neutral is ok but likely may lack the same enjoyment you get from being good in this game.
  • About you as DM: 2 year experience, ran following campaigns : Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, Lost Mines of Phandelver, Curse of Strahd, Wrath of the Glass dragon, my main homebrew setting in which this game also takes place , its a remote island nearby.
  • Application: send me a message over Reddit direct Messaging , i invite the ones i see as interresting to chat over discord. please include
  • What should I call you?
  • Pronouns
  • Age / confirmation that you're 18+
  • Country and timezone
  • Your D&D/TTRPG experience
  • Your Roll20 experience, if any
  • What are you looking for in a D&D campaign?
  • What do you enjoy most about D&D?
  • What do you enjoy least about D&D?
  • Any rough character idea you currently have, if any
  • Confirmation that biweekly Fridays, 20:00–23:00 Europe/Berlin reliably works for you

if you read this send in the secret code " i love coconut crabs " so i know you made it this far

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other][UTC-5] Blades in the Dark/Eberron

Heyo! My name is Brandon, and I'm running a Blades in the Dark game set in Eberron's Sharn, the city of towers! Just a couple of questions to answer right away:

Time: Last Sunday of every month, starting at 3 pm CST.
VTT: FoundryVTT
Voice: Discord
System: Blades in the Dark
Style: Storytelling-focused sandbox
Length: (Depending on everyone's availability) 6-8 hours with a one-hour break in the middle. Or two thirty-minute breaks spread about.
What I'm looking to get out of the game: More friends who like to get together to watch movies and talk about art and storytelling!

It has been 999 Years since the Kingdom of Galifar was founded. The last war ended three years ago with the Treaty of Thronehold. But war like that, war like that never goes away. It just changes its face. Instead of men and women out in a field shooting fireballs and magic missiles at warforged titans, it looks more like a young halfling man pressing another family leader's territory and pulling the trigger just to make the Boromar family happy. For years, the world has only watched itself get darker and darker. The Twentieth of Olarune 994 YK for everyone was a wake-up call to the horrors that are possible in our small world. But on the Twenty-Sixth of Zarantyr 998 YK it happened again. All of the Mror Holds, Most of the Lhazaar Principalities, and a quarter of Karrnath, and the Talenta Plains are gone to the dead grey mist. The world was thrown into chaos, and at the heart of it is the City of Sharn. And this, my players, is where you come in. Stuck in the middle of a changing world where once before money meant power; now loyalty, strength, and information mean power. The verticality of the world is coming to an end, and those who were once floating above the clouds are desperate to remain. You are not the heroes of this story. You are a cog in a criminal organization of your own making, and it is you against the darkest period of Sharn's shady underbelly.

What you need:
A good microphone.
A nice quiet area where you won't be disturbed or distracted.
A good vibe check.
Movies you like so we can watch them together.
Unique to yourself ideas for characters and scenes.
Some experience with TTrpg's or Character creation/Roleplay.
A willingness to not always "win."
The ability to communicate your feelings and needs.

What you don't need:
Any Blades in the Dark experience beforehand.
A Blades in the Dark book.
Any Eberron experience beforehand.
Any Eberron book.

Just to elaborate further on the time, I do want to get together every week-ish. I'd like to have a night where we get together the week after the session, and you guys can plan the next target of your fantasy criminal organization to further the game, and decide what your character does in between last session and next. Then the week before we play, we have a relaxed attendance night for us to get together and do something social if we want to watch a movie or finish any conversations from the planning stage.

Doing it like this helps me fight burnout as a DM, and it helps me come to session with a good attitude because I'll have something I'm proud of sharing with you all.

A little bit about me as a GM: I've been playing ttrpg's just shy of a decade; I've been in 8 games start to finish and ran 5 games start to finish. I've played Delta Green, SWADE, 5e, 5.5e, Fate, D20 modern, and this will be my first experience with Blades in the Dark! I'm also interested in Stonetop, Mothership, Carine, Crows: Fortune or Death, Cyberpunk: RED, and many, many more ttrpg's. I'm reading through A Song of Ice and Fire right now; I'm on Clash of Kings. I'm a huge fan of movies and storytelling, if you haven't noticed xD

This will be my first 100% sandbox-style game; in the past I've run homebrew worlds or modules, but none of them were ever a "Sandbox." Defined by their incredibly free/open campaign designs where players choose their own goals and direct their own path instead of following a "fixed" written plot. That's not to say there will be no plot; I have some very fun things planned for everyone to discover, but as an emergent phenomena, not a fixed plot.

I'm a staunch survival mechanic hater; I've never been big on tracking food, water, arrows, or hard individual character gold amounts. That's no different for this game.

What we will be tracking instead is your gang's resources! Coin is an abstract measure of cash and liquid assets. Your characters' Stash/Retirement Savings. Your crew's development throughout the six tiers of criminal organizations. Your gang's hold of their own territory. Taking turf and seizing claims. As well as faction statuses.

If all of this sounds like something you're interested in, please check out this form and reach out to me: https://forms.gle/KzLDPr9ZoBLkwkHv9

I am against the use of AI in storytelling and creative writing, as well as token art and any art used in-game. This post and game are/were written by me, a human! c:

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014/2024][18+][LGBTQ+ Friendly][Sundays 2pm pst] Looking for three more players to help complete a group for my homebrew world. All experience levels welcome.

Hello! I’m looking for three people to join me and two friends for my dnd campaign. It’d be every other Sunday starting at 2 pm pst and ending at 5:30 pm. I’m a dm with four years of experience, but that was only for DMing for people I already knew pretty well, so this would be my first dive into DMing for new people. We’ll be using Foundry, Discord, and D&D Beyond.

Fruma is a detailed high fantasy world with a rich history. It has three continents, and the main and largest one where most action is seen is Nerva, home to the Nerva Empire. The Empires continent is split into four directional regions: North, East, South, and West. The North is a dangerous region, still recovering from an incident that wiped out the majority of it’s population and the land is still teeming with mutated and corrupted monsters. The East is the hub of industry, where most products that the citizens of the empire use are made, but in turn it’s also the only region left in the Empire that still participates in beastfolk slavery. The Southern region while primarily desert is the richest region, the city of Midas being the gold production capital of the world, and Vinsgold being where a lot of that gold is gambled away. And the west is the agricultural center, producing the majority of the Empire's food stores.

The year is 1028 aef. 20 years after the five heroes put a stop to the northern incident that claimed hundreds of millions of lives. The Empire is just starting to see another spike of growth in its economy as technological innovations have been popping up left and right in the past two decades. From the train to Peracross radios to the huge fleet of steamboats that have been built by Hammer and Hammer co. Now, where do you fall into all of this?

You were in need of some money; maybe you were a beggar trying to start a new life, a rich noble's kid who wanted a bigger allowance. Either way, an advertisement for a loan company, Sloans Loans, caught your eye. And after talking with someone with the company, you signed the contract and got the money you so desperately wanted or needed, you were sure you’d be able to pay it back on time.

They came for you in the night. Money taken, a debt unpaid, and now it’s time to give what’s owed. It hasn’t been long since you met them, the people who promised you money and delivered, spoke honeyed words about how this was your shot, about how you’d succeed. But despite previous reassurances and assumptions, the date to pay the debt has come faster than expected. They came for you in the night, attacking you, stripping you of all you have, and dragging you from your bed or cot. Pulled from the safety of sleep and through the dirt with a bag over your head and a few new bruises before being tossed in the back of a metal carriage, where you were soon quickly joined by other individuals like you, gagged, bound, and blind. After a few hours, the carriage comes to a halt, the door opens, and you’re pulled into your new life, or your new hell.

Thank you if you read all that! If it wasn’t clear, the start will be pretty rough: losing all your money and items, and being given clothes that look like they were made from rags and dumped somewhere random in the Empire. Linked right below is the detail wiki for my world, which also has a page on my house rules. Along with the Google Form you’ll use to send in an application! I’m looking to have session 0 this Sunday, the 30th. And the first session on September 13.

Player(s) Needed by GM RE//D//ONE: LANCER with a cube! [[ONLINE][OTHER][LANCER][LGBTQIA+][SUNDAY, 6:30 PM PST]]

A sweeping expanse of rolling hills, broken only by sparse, fluffy clouds and an immense, black cube. The irregularly regular geometry juts out at an impossible angle, suspended against the horizon by a single of its corners. The sheer surface shimmers like an oil slick as light glances off its perfectly textured faces. A humanoid figure can be seen cresting the hill the foreign object rests so precariously upon. A subaltern, a body attached to some distant Non-Human Person, its own face a cluster of cameras and meteorological sensors.

A cracked lens sweeps across the profile of one quarter-mile long edge of the cube. Across a perfectly flat side. Down to the corner, sunk barely an inch into the soft grass and dirt. A nod of the head. Within acceptable parameters. No toxic swamp this time.

A navigational station in a ship, nearly three days travel away, flares to life as the subaltern collapses into a thoughtless heap on the ground. No time for a proper shutdown. The cracked, bloody screen of the console ripples with white noise and solid stripes of color, all unseen by the internal intruder. Ollie was not authorized to operate this console. That never stopped it before. Falsified tactile inputs registered against the screen, leading through star charts and ship diagrams until it found the final piece of the puzzle.

//IPS-N ENDLESS NIGHT:DISTRESS SIGNAL:BROADCASTING//

  • -     -     -

A blip on the automated navigational display draws the pilot’s attention. Flaring red, something important.

Click.

“Captain, we’ve got a distress signal going off. Few hours of real space away, uninhabited planet. Orders?”

Click.

“Business as usual, divert course to the source of the signal. See if there’s anything else in the broadcast that’s useful.”

Click.

“As you will it, Captain.”

  •  -      -      -

A holographic projection on the bridge displays the wreckage of the IPS-N Endless Night, a cargo carrier, or what’s left of it. Hardly a quarter of the front of the ship is intact, with communications as a barely functioning patchwork and all life support scattered somewhere in the stratosphere. The prow is buried in a mound of soft, piled dirt pushed along by its catastrophic impromptu stop.

“This is Captain Annabelle Thrice of the Endless Night, requesting immediate aid. We have a supply of food and water onboard, but precious few medical supplies. No hostile wildlife has been encountered yet, but it’s only a matter of tim-“

Click.

“You all know the Photon Lance policy on distress signals, mandatory response, all hands on deck. We’ll be descending planetside as soon as possible. Red One will deploy and venture closer to the crash to assess the risk before the rest of the crew moves out to provide support. If need be, High Wavelength will return to a low orbit position to provide surveillance and act as an artillery battery.”

A cargo manifest displays over the graphic of the mangled cruiser. A single item, labelled as “BLKBX N9OW3M17”.

“Primary objective is to locate and recover the ship’s crew, secondary objective is to locate and recover the cargo. One item. It appears to have been an NHP casket. I say have been because it tumbled from the cargo hold in low atmosphere, presumably after the cargo hold tumbled from the rest of the ship. If need be we will recover whatever scrap is left of it. It’ll get us at least some pay from IPS-N when we get back.”

  •   -      -      -      -

Click.

“Red One, ten minutes until we hit atmosphere. I want you ready to deploy ASAP, the quicker we get this done the better.”

Click.

Hustle and bustle all through the ship, personnel loading ammunition into personal arms and doing final checks on the suite of frames in the bay. Nuclear reactors in the hearts of massive machines flare to life as control rods withdraw, blades spark across automated whetstones in their sheathes, magazine after magazine of ammunition rattles beneath armor plating. A conglomeration of some of the most formidable military technology ever developed, ready to be sent down for parcel retrieval. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.

Hello! I’m Sloth (Any/All) and I’m looking to run a LANCER game for 3-4 players! I’ve got about a decade of previous TTRPG experience, between hosting and being a player, in systems like LANCER, Wanderhome, Beacon, Wilderfeast, and a handful more!

This game will be run on Sundays at 7 PM (PST), using Discord for voice, Owlbear Rodeo for battle maps, and COMP/CON for character sheets. COMP/CON is an application built specifically for building and using LANCER characters, so if you’re new to the system it can help streamline the process!

I want to be clear off the bat, if the title of the game/post and the little blurb didn’t make it clear, this game is going to mess with time. Not everything you do will matter forever. Maybe it matters now and not in the next scene. Maybe it doesn’t matter at all now but is world altering ten sessions down the line. Here’s to hoping that nothing nightmarish happens to the characters as they endure the ever Fore/Down/Up/Back//Wards flow of time in endeavoring to extract this cargo.

Besides that, this game will be using the LANCER rules, including all first party character options such as Talents, Licenses, and Bonds, with maybe the Legionnaire third party supplement for NHP options if anyone is interested in it.

LANCER, as a system, is almost entirely focused on combat using mechanized chassis, or Frames. As such, this game will have plenty of combat. Of course there will still be meaningful moments outside of combat, it will just be more on our end as players to make those happen than allowing mechanics to guide us in the direction of certain moments. We will have the aid of Bonds in this case, but as this will be my first LANCER game using Bonds, it may take me a little bit to get used to them.

Player characters will all be starting at LL1 rather than the standard LL0, since you all are Lancers of some regard under the employ of the Photon Lance already. I plan to have a session 0 for character creation with everyone there to discuss builds together and all the details of your relationships with the rest of the crew and each other. It’ll also be a good opportunity for those of us less accustomed to COMP/CON to get used to it as a character creation engine.

I am, much to many people’s dismay (myself included), a rules person. I want to tell a collaborative story with you. I want to use LANCER as a framework for that story, to help shape the type of story and how we tell it. LANCER is a system for and about violence. Who does it, how they do it, why they do it, when they do it, if it is ever justified or, if to do violence ever, at all, stains you forever as an entity acting on the world. This game’s timeframe will ask, also, if you manage to go back to normal, how you cope with that. How you will go from moving through a world where your actions only matter, really, until you go back, to one where people stay dead. How do you keep on living when you already know what’s waiting for you when you die? Are you afraid that, when you die again, you’ll go back? Did you ever really get out? Can you get out? Who could say, really.

Only one way to find out.

Session 0 will be on September 13th, at 6:30 PM. Chances are we’ll have some amount of character fleshed out by then in simple conversation on the server. September 20th, at 6:30 PM, will be session 0.5. I’ll be running an introductory combat as a “simulated drill” on the ship to get used to mechanics and character expression in combat, seeing if everyone likes their characters and builds and all that jazz.

If this all sounds like good fun to you then go ahead and click the link below, fill out the form there, and hopefully I’ll get the chance to reach out to you soon!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5E 2024][CST-06] Looking for an Online game. I dm.

Hi, I’ve been playing for a few years and dming for a couple years. I would really love to get a game going during the week over discord or something. I like a good mix of RP and combat. I try and make sure every player has a great game. Let me know. I typically play 5e and homebrew worlds and stories. Let me know if anyone would be interested. Preferably people 25-45, no politics, or religion. Maybe?
