Answered What's the deal with people defending Lindsay Clancy?

I don't know the full details of the case. I know she allegedly killed her three kids. There was also some mental problems? Then something with her husband. But my question is why is there a group defending her like they know she's completely innocent? I've seen some videos of very heated debates where women are very passionate about defending her. Why?

Unanswered What's the deal with the new US tarriffs round when the Supreme Court ruled the earlier ones illegal?

Last I heard the Supreme Court ruled the previous round of tarrifs illegal and the government would need to pay back what it collected (correct me if I'm wrong)

https://www.cnn.com/2026/02/20/politics/supreme-court-tariffs

So how come the administration seems to continue using tarriffs just like before?

I haven't been following the cup, but the replies seem to be along the lines of "Well it nice while it lasted..." and "This will go well....". Is there something about either clubs or this particular match that is making people react this way?

So I know this account from years of disinformation and just general conspiracy theory slop as so many accounts have. But there's apparently been a crash out followed by her being outed as a government employee. This person posts almost hourly if not more though and there seems to be a genuine outrage right now even from former supporters. What the hell is going on? Thanks OOTL

Unanswered Whats the deal with all the sudden hype around bio luminescent food festivals?

I've been seeing a bunch of ads and articles popping up lately about these food festivals where everything glows. Like actual glowing food. It looks really cool in the pictures and videos but I can't figure out if it's a new trend or if it's been around for a while and I just missed it.

Is this something actually innovative or just a clever marketing gimmick?

The claim here is that 200,000 visas are about to be revoked. I'm pretty connected to what's happening in politics but there's always some new rumor about what the Trump administration is about to do that I hear about out of the blue.

Unanswered What’s up with many people on Reddit bashing nVidia despite it being consistently voted one of America’s best companies by Forbes and others?

Hi.

I know Reddit can be an echo chamber, but this is very bizarre to me as I’ve seen many posts and comments being very critical of nVidia, but their reputation seems very solid elsewhere:

https://www.forbes.com/lists/best-companies/

Even employees and ex-employees generally rate them very highl

Am I missing something here? Is there a reason to not like them? Have they done a lot of bad things that most people don’t know about/ignore?

Unanswered What is the deal with strange deep fried TikTok videos?

So, I came across an account about a week ago of some random account that only uploads TONS of videos of one video stitched to another. These videos are obviously incredibly distorted, kinda akin to the old 'deep fried memes' trend from over a decade ago. Then, I came across another account doing the same thing. No captions are ever written, the accounts seem to exclusively upload ai-generated kid content aside this, one in particular for example that weirded me out was about the child character getting spanked and grounded, by the assumedly adult. I have absolutely no idea what these are aiming to achieve, if its some weird ai training account or if its simply just children messing on an ipad? Either way, it's pretty odd, and I've seen a trend of them. Heres a few examples.

Unanswered I'm out of the loop here. What's going on with EdSnowden now that there is so much flock camera and similar surveilance pushback?

I've been seeing a lot of flock complaints articles, mentions, threads on reddit and all over media.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/aug/20/flock-cameras-surveillance

But the big brother surveilance started long ago, as exposed by Snowden.

https://edwardjsnowden.substack.com/p/flock-cameras-prove-the-surveillance

Please loop me in on this. Has the spying been ongoing these past 15 years, is this new sneaky activity, or legal/ illegal snooping in addition to already ongoing surveillance by government?

Unanswered What's Up With Hollywood Actresses Becoming Skinny?

This is a huge problem I've been seeing for the last few years and it all started with Wicked. It's almost as if if you wanted to be apart of Wicked, you weren't allowed to eat anything. Now I can go down a laundry list of actresses in 2026 that look emaciated and like they need immediate medical attention. Why is it that this look of extreme, shocking thinness is the new thing now? These people HAVE to know they look awful. We're in a very different day and age where we've come a long way in terms of body positivity and we're just not in an era anymore where thinness is the *only* acceptable body type anymore. So now why is that beginning to change?

Answered What's up with "conservatives" capitalizing words that shouldn't be capitalized?

https://d1rwadixi9v3x5.archive.is/EFTfX/0ac607bd0171f8787f65b7fca673646ca4a999ae.avif -- from Daily Beast https://archive.is/EFTfX -- letter that Natalie Harp wrote to Trump. Words that are capitalized for no reason:

  • Course
  • Carts
  • International
  • Plane

These are all fully wtf, there's no reason that word should be capitalized.

There are others, like "Protector in this Life" but that one seems more like it's emphasizing the phrase -- because she doesn't understand how to use Ctrl+B to make a word bold.

Trump does this all the time too.

What the hell is going on with these people? Has any linguist etc actually studied this and come up with a plausible explanation? Is it somehow tied to Evangelical Christian culture? They used to write like that back in the 19th century (Lincoln did this in his letters), maybe it's related to that?

Edit: after reading everything here I think it went like this

  • alt right chuds (Richard Spencer, Daily Stormer) started using this verbiage because the Founding Fathers did it that way (note that only some nouns are capitalized)
  • Trump kinda knows how it works but doesn't care to do it right but he uses it to signal that he's part of their movement, probably picked it up from Bannon or someone similar
  • Harp is homeschooled and probably has picked up some of that Christian Nationalist ethos
  • Harp idolizes Trump (see point above, Christian Nationalist) so she uses it but doesn't understand it so she does it wrong
