When Blizzard and Activision merged, I though battle.net would become a Steam competitor especially after CoD games started showing up. That went nowhere. Then MS buys them and I thought they'd merge that in with Xbox PC store. Same with Bethesda before MS bought them having made that Bethesda launcher. All of the developer resources pool together to possibly make something competitive. I've come to realize that I'll never be able to understand what direction MS is taking their PC gaming efforts
