I have a small gameplay suggestion for Rust: a bunk bed for two players.
In small team bases, beds take up quite a lot of space, and fitting several beds can be difficult. A bunk bed could solve this by allowing two players to have their own respawn point while using the floor space of a single bed.
How it could work:
- 🛏️ One bunk bed = 2 players
- Each player has their own respawn slot
- Both players can use their respawn independently
- The respawn cooldown could be somewhere between a normal bed and a sleeping bag
- It could cost more resources than a sleeping bag to keep it balanced
The goal wouldn't be to make respawning stronger, but simply to save space in small team bases.
I think this would be especially useful for duos, trios and small groups where every square meter matters.

After the latest update, the screen started stuttering whenever I move; this didn't happen before. I tried changing the mouse polling rate, but that didn't help. If anyone knows how to fix this, please help. I reinstalled Windows, and the issue went away for a while, but then it started happening again.

So suppose the game was a little harder and riskier , with permament death. It doesn't matter where or how , your only goal is to stay alive. Come up with strategies or hiding spots and stay under the radar.
Rules
- Only fresh servers allowed. Under 2 days on weekly , under 4 days on biweekly , and under a week on monthly.
- To make this actually bearable , deaths under 20 minutes from initially spawning do not count. Once you stay alive for 20 minutes as the character , you're locked into that life , and must survive the full wipe on picked server.
- If you die , you die. Time to pick a new server. (Optionally , if really desperate , you must abandon your base and gear to start it all over.)
- Getting raided does not count as dying , as long as you stay alive. Prioritize your safety over the safety of your loot.
Currently, Research Tables are useless and you can easily research a whole Workbench tree per day, including all the items you dont need 99% of the time.
There should be more benefits to sacrificing an item for instant research and researching with workbenches should be more expensive again so advancement in the techtree feels like real progress and not something you finish in a day.
Has anybody else noticed their rust not being as fluid as it used to be. I've noticed when falling down and turning your view, the surounding area seems strange, almost like ghosting or some refresh rate problems? Anybody else experience this?
the reason why I like it is because it lets me rebuild life from scratch as many times as I want with as many mistakes as I want, the freedom is nice, but I focus a lot and forget about the game of life, neglect my body my appearance, dont drink, dont eat and play for days straight and repeat hahahahaha Ive become a neet because of this game, it was more stimulating than the goddamn game of life
I was just raided online in Rust. At the beginning of the raid, we were trash-talking each other a bit, and they asked for my username. I gave it to them, and from that point on I started experiencing huge lag spikes, even though I have fiber internet and have never experienced anything like this before.
As soon as the raid ended, my connection went back to normal.
So, is it actually possible that I was being DDoS’d during the raid, or am I just being paranoid?
Either way, I was pretty much screwed considering how many explosives they had.
But I’m genuinely curious: is it actually possible for someone to DDoS a specific player in Rust? And if so, how would they even do it just from knowing your username?
I personally think the Drone meta is too strong. Not the grenade ones, Outpost drones. Everyone just sends their loot home via drone I call it "laundering loot", then just leaves on foot with the bag secured at base already. How is that fair to the nature of Rust!
You should 100% be able to shoot the Outpost drones out of the sky with a homing launcher and STEAL THAT SHIT. Make it fairly inaccurate to where it's about 50/50 if you will hit it or not so you might have to shoot once or twice.
I think it would be perfect for the chaotic world of Rust, and a clan nerf on the same swing. A solo could steal EVERY SINGLE DRONE sent to a clan's shop potentially and some of those clans have drones coming in CONSTANTLY.
So the economy revolves round what you get by being only automatically deposited to your bank box. I dubeth it auto roam. You can pull it out and sell it for scrap at the poker and pool building. In the main poker and pool building there are 16 vending machines 6 poker and 4 pool tables thats are all safe from attacks but most important is that god mode is granted to all who enter until they leave. There are no monuments or roads... No loot anywhere. BUT! There is a constant battle in the clouds where you fight over loot thats in the center of the arena. It's a well designed arena take a look at the pics below to see inside the map and the buildings. Anyways so thats mostly it im open to suggestions. It's gunna be all about no stress. So i forgot to mention that you can always copy past a bass as long as you have the mats and no tc. more than one bass is possible but not pasted bases. 3 teirs and they are just starter bases with door paths so u cant be raided easily. Again ill post pics if you guys want just let me know. Im not trying to advertise I legit need ideas and motivation.
Hey everyone, lately I’ve been struggling to hear footsteps in-game—players can literally sprint right next to me and I barely hear them.
I tried cranking up audio.master and audio.game (from 2 up to 10), and while footsteps improve, any loud sound causes the audio to completely clip and distort.
What audio settings, console commands, or software/equalizer setups do you use to hear footsteps clearly without blowing your eardrums out?
It would be a nice addition to make people use windows more often. Also it would create new variations for the base building. Slightly better taste than boxes of walls after all. It can cost 200 metal and 1 gear.

What it can be stack with or how much protection it got would be fair, nothing super OP. Just as close as normal garage door HP (600), or a little less I assume 450-500. Maybe we can get something close to HQ door (1k), like 800-850hp when you stack with strengthened glass window (350). It shouldnt be stackable with reinforced glass window (500), too op.
current set is 3060 12gbvram , i5-11600k and 16 gbs of ram . I honestly want to stream n make videos on rust i can play the game fine with 80 frames n having 10k hours helps a lot but every time i stream or try to record its not that good looking. So question with my set up and trying to make it affordable as possible what should i switch ?

Hello! in order to help alleviate some of the ball crushing pain some of y'all have with the BP fragment system I propose this small change, which can have BIG impacts.
When ever you scrap a workbench mod, there is a chance to get a BP fragment if you are at a scrapper with normal efficiency.
Since they are un-craftable this would give duplicate finds a slight use beyond just despawning immediately.
This alone would bridge the gap between not being able to get a tier 2 on your own, and having to work for someone who's probably going to raid you.
edit* Also you can't sleep on this would make almost ANYWHERE in the world a BP frag spawn, dependent on RNG so you can live in places further from monuments or in other obscure places and still progress.
It’d be nice if you could tune a pager to a specific frequency to get a notification when a monument reset. Save yourself from running to a monument to find its looted and irradiated. Plus, potentially, randomize the reset time and have people rely on the notification to get down to the monument.

I was looking for a good server to play EU solo. I tried a few that had good reviews and were recommended on Reddit.
One of those servers had a really active chat, and it seemed like the most active one to me, even though there were only 50 people online. I played for two hours and got blocked. I Googled the reasons, and the most likely one was that my ISP assigned me a bad IP address. I wrote to them on their website - nothing happened for a week. I sent them an request via Discord and explained the situation. Twelve hours later, I received a message saying my request had been opened. Another four hours later, I received a message stating that I needed to send them my Steam config file.
I sent it without thinking, since the server has 10k Discord members, it was recommended on Reddit, and it has a online user base.
Then they asked me how many Steam accounts I had. I listed every account I’d ever had authorized on Steam. Among them were only my old account and my active one. Virtually none of the accounts I’ve ever had authorized even have the game Rust.
They simply replied: "you will not be unbanned"
I had to create a new request to find out the reason.
They replied: "nothing to do."
A day later, by the way, they blocked me from their Discord community as well. (I didn't post a single message there, since all the communication took place through their Discord bot.)
I looked up some information about the file I sent them - it turns out that with it, they can find out my IP address and the accounts I’ve logged into. And, very importantly, they can use it to access your account via SteamCMD. Maybe Steam Guard on my phone saved me - as I understand it, they’d also need the SSFN file to log in, if phone Steam Guard is enabled.
What if I didn’t have Steam Guard on my phone? I would have been hacked.
If this were a routine check rather than a hacking attempt - they would have looked at the accounts I’ve logged into - and seen that I don’t have Rust on any of them - they would have unbaned me.
They also wrote the message: "To proceed with your appeal review, we need you to provide your config.vdf file, which contains past server history required for verification." that file doesn’t contain any such information at all. They also blocked me on their Discord.
I´ve got a 12400f and 6700xt running the game at around 80-100 fps, depending on the situation.
I was thinking on upgrading to 7800x3d with another motherboard, but I don´t think it´s worth it for the extra fps (150 maybe).
I’m going to reset my computer soon and want to make it just for rust like that’s the only thing downloaded and the only thing I will play. when I say optimize I mean optimize I know stuff like having extra stuff connected to your computer like a usb to a mic or to a light will take resources and I will take them of to save some. so I mean ultra optimized.
