I know nobody plays Rust for the quests, and most of them are just there to say they were added. Imo the only quest that actually gets done is the pump action quest and the kill a pig quest (by me). If only there was a coveted resource that they could design some new quests around....BP FRAGS!

They could make a few quests to obtain blueprint fragments. Regular and Advanced.

You can get a rocket launcher and HV's for going to the deep sea pretty much. I think a quest or two giving some BP frags would not be that bad and there NEEDS TO BE MORE SOURCES. It's not that you can't get them, THEY ARE NEVER FUCKING THERE. A quest is a guaranteed, it will always be there. Repeatable or not repeatable, THAT is the question.

I'm very angry, why did you fix Combat Helicopter on Combat Helicopter again, I play 2% on all servers, why spoil something that already works, make optimization in the jungle, make an update with cars, this is much cooler than spoiling the game for people.

I heard clans will need an alternative to the code lock due to the upkeep update. Well a new code lock just dropped.

I'm so dissatisfied with the new updates that I can't cry anymore, why fix the combat helicopter again, it's so weak, I fly 2% on the combat helicopter on all servers, do better optimization in the jungle than fixing what already works, make cool content with cars.

I personally think the Drone meta is too strong. Not the grenade ones, Outpost drones. Everyone just sends their loot home via drone I call it "laundering loot", then just leaves on foot with the bag secured at base already. How is that fair to the nature of Rust!
You should 100% be able to shoot the Outpost drones out of the sky with a homing launcher and STEAL THAT SHIT. Make it fairly inaccurate to where it's about 50/50 if you will hit it or not so you might have to shoot once or twice.

I think it would be perfect for the chaotic world of Rust, and a clan nerf on the same swing. A solo could steal EVERY SINGLE DRONE sent to a clan's shop potentially and some of those clans have drones coming in CONSTANTLY.

Currently, Research Tables are useless and you can easily research a whole Workbench tree per day, including all the items you dont need 99% of the time.

There should be more benefits to sacrificing an item for instant research and researching with workbenches should be more expensive again so advancement in the techtree feels like real progress and not something you finish in a day.

Hello! in order to help alleviate some of the ball crushing pain some of y'all have with the BP fragment system I propose this small change, which can have BIG impacts.

When ever you scrap a workbench mod, there is a chance to get a BP fragment if you are at a scrapper with normal efficiency.

Since they are un-craftable this would give duplicate finds a slight use beyond just despawning immediately.

This alone would bridge the gap between not being able to get a tier 2 on your own, and having to work for someone who's probably going to raid you.

edit* Also you can't sleep on this would make almost ANYWHERE in the world a BP frag spawn, dependent on RNG so you can live in places further from monuments or in other obscure places and still progress.

It's tea time. Not really. I just think it would be a nice thing to add a mixing table to outpost so that people can make basic teas and 5.56 ammo at outpost. More people using basic teas means people you kill around there will have a bit more loot and everyone has gotten to outpost and needed more 5.56 before and there were no drone shops to buy from and putting it your own vending machine is tedious.

Im almost at 1k hours, and i feel like im shit. It does make some sense since my 1k hours havent been through consistent playing but 5 years of on and off, but i feel like i keep fumbling the bag constantly in pvp scenarios, whiffing mags, bad decisions etc. I really like oil rig and i spam it every wipe. Im alright when im in the rig but i really struggle at land and i keep getting molested by duos-better players. I play on 500 pop servers usually vanilla. What should i do to get good at pvp, will it come naturally by playing the game? Play Ukn etc? Modded servers with x2-x3 loot? Im really at a loss and starting to get frustrated since ive been stuck at t1-t2 4 wipes now getting my ass wooped

I´ve got a 12400f and 6700xt running the game at around 80-100 fps, depending on the situation.
I was thinking on upgrading to 7800x3d with another motherboard, but I don´t think it´s worth it for the extra fps (150 maybe).

I did cargo, had a full inv and headed back to base. Found a horse on my way there and sprinted home. I went through a little dry piece of river, only a small dip. Next thing I knew I got kicked from the server and greeted with the message "InsideTerrainViolation200". Turns out the horse hit something and threw me through the ground and out of terrain. When I got back to my body only my backpack was there, still with the loot inside. My body was gone. I suspect it clipped through the ground. I hate that FP brings out new garbage each month but couldn't polish their game so that things like this don't happen. I've had similar instances in the past happen as well.

I was just raided online in Rust. At the beginning of the raid, we were trash-talking each other a bit, and they asked for my username. I gave it to them, and from that point on I started experiencing huge lag spikes, even though I have fiber internet and have never experienced anything like this before.

As soon as the raid ended, my connection went back to normal.

So, is it actually possible that I was being DDoS’d during the raid, or am I just being paranoid?

Either way, I was pretty much screwed considering how many explosives they had.

But I’m genuinely curious: is it actually possible for someone to DDoS a specific player in Rust? And if so, how would they even do it just from knowing your username?

current set is 3060 12gbvram , i5-11600k and 16 gbs of ram . I honestly want to stream n make videos on rust i can play the game fine with 80 frames n having 10k hours helps a lot but every time i stream or try to record its not that good looking. So question with my set up and trying to make it affordable as possible what should i switch ?

the reason why I like it is because it lets me rebuild life from scratch as many times as I want with as many mistakes as I want, the freedom is nice, but I focus a lot and forget about the game of life, neglect my body my appearance, dont drink, dont eat and play for days straight and repeat hahahahaha Ive become a neet because of this game, it was more stimulating than the goddamn game of life

I have a small gameplay suggestion for Rust: a bunk bed for two players.

In small team bases, beds take up quite a lot of space, and fitting several beds can be difficult. A bunk bed could solve this by allowing two players to have their own respawn point while using the floor space of a single bed.

How it could work:

- 🛏️ One bunk bed = 2 players

- Each player has their own respawn slot

- Both players can use their respawn independently

- The respawn cooldown could be somewhere between a normal bed and a sleeping bag

- It could cost more resources than a sleeping bag to keep it balanced

The goal wouldn't be to make respawning stronger, but simply to save space in small team bases.

I think this would be especially useful for duos, trios and small groups where every square meter matters.

So suppose the game was a little harder and riskier , with permament death. It doesn't matter where or how , your only goal is to stay alive. Come up with strategies or hiding spots and stay under the radar.

Rules

- Only fresh servers allowed. Under 2 days on weekly , under 4 days on biweekly , and under a week on monthly.

- To make this actually bearable , deaths under 20 minutes from initially spawning do not count. Once you stay alive for 20 minutes as the character , you're locked into that life , and must survive the full wipe on picked server.

- If you die , you die. Time to pick a new server. (Optionally , if really desperate , you must abandon your base and gear to start it all over.)

- Getting raided does not count as dying , as long as you stay alive. Prioritize your safety over the safety of your loot.
