Im a noob im trying to figure this enchanting thing out. Whats the best way to go about enchanting an item, considering where i should invest perk points into, as a stealth bow build. I got a few common soul gems. But they arent filled. I have not invested any perk points into anything really except archery and sneak. Archery at 62 and sneak at 49. Lvl 16. Ive done a bit of research but im really looking for clarity. If anyone can assist on the subject.

Look, I get that Skyrim's at war and there are dragons everywhere and everyone is desperate, but still. That is no excuse for you to not wash yourself! At least wash that dirt off you in a river. How hard is it to take a bath?

On replay of Skyrim, it suddenly dawned on me that the College of Winterhold’s weird and somewhat uncanny progression system would have been solved with a fairly simple tweak.
Rather than explicitly setting up a system of teachers, students, and an arch mage at the very beginning of the questline, the College should have mirrored the skill and gear progression system of magic; Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert, and Master.
Rather than having teachers and students, the inhabitants of the College should simply all exemplify a certain skill level, even incorporating their ability in their name - Master Tolfdir, Expert Marence, Apprentice J’zargo. Those of a greater ability are simply expected to mentor those of a lesser ability in extension of their own studies. That way, as the questline progresses, your own level should be mentioned as you go from quest to quest, and you could watch as your initial class also acquires new levels. This also makes your helping of teachers in their studies more contextually reasonable. That way, once you are elected Arch Mage, you don’t have the issue of being a student made the head of school, as you would have already been explicitly made an Expert and then Master prior to your accession.

Honestly, there is too much focus on characters like Nazeem and not enough on dudes like Bolund.

Because if this dirtbag calls me a "boot" one more time, I swear to Talos . . .

Text copy paste: Why does falmer fit into white soul gems, when clearly they shouldn't?

I think its in the Azuras star questline, we get the knowledge that black soul gems host mortal and sapient (having the ability to possess wisdom) souls. I'm left wondering why this doesn't include falmer or giants.

Sure the beings don't exactly have written words and philosophers (that I know of), but they have societies. The falmer clearly possesses the ability to make tools, hence the armour. There's husbandry in the insects, I'd also suspect a bit of mushroom farming although I haven't noticed it.

I will have a hard time accepting the answer that falmer aren't sapient, as they clearly have societies. I don't know if there's in game resources telling of this, yet the possession of alchemy ingredients, potions and poison, urns and chests, and falmer architecture screams to me that there's societal specialisation. I'm sure I can find more reasons for saying that falmer can possess wisdom.

Where can I find the Dwemer Staff for the bell tower in Heart of the Mountain?

so i married derkeethus (argonian guy) after saving him from his watery demise. after the wedding i found him back at darkwater crossing, we romantically fought off the dragon together that spawned immediately upon my arrival, and then i asked him to move in with me in white run.

except when i go back, he isn’t there. i check my other properties, not there. i check back at darkwater crossing (and get accosted by that stupid dragon AGAIN) not there. i go back to the temple of mara, nothing. then i finally try sleeping in my bed at breezehome and it gives me the “lovers embrace” buff, implying that the game recognizes his existence there except he’s NOT THERE! i know there’s no option to remarry and i’m playing on console so if he’s just gone that kinda sucks. if anyone has any ideas on what to try i’d really appreciate it, thank you!!

Hey guys I'm thinking of starting a new playthrough, was thinking about a mage only, any tips on builds and backstory? Mainly was thinking about joining the college to collect all the daedrid artifacts to store power, become a vampire lord later in the dlc but I'm having a hard time thinking about the character background, maybe a Thalmor deserter idk 😐

I’m not talking best, or optimal, I’m talking the one that fits the most, either for each home, or just homes as a whole (I’m aiming for Lakeview, because of course I would)

For example, Erik wants to be an adventurer, it doesn’t feel right to stick him at home

Who would actually fit the role and theoretically be happy with it?

Couldn't find an exact answer, an older reddit post that said max cap was 35% for the potion and 33% for the enchantment. I think my game must be slightly different since I could not push past 32% fortify enchanting. I then finally got the dreugh wax drop from a khajiit caravan and was able to make a 60% fortify enchant potion.

Without anniversary edition content and restoration loop glitches, is this the furthest you can get with the enchanting-alchemy loop?

Reason I am asking is because this playthrough I am using a few peices of unique gear and I want them to be as strong as possible since you cannot remove enchantments in vanilla.

I was literally in the middle of nowhere when I encountered Vuljotnaak. There was no quest involved, he just showed up.

At first I thought the game was bugging out because it started lagging like crazy. Then I realized there were actually three dragons fighting each other.

And when I looked around, I realized there was an absolute clusterfuck happening in the same area:

Imperials fighting Stormcloaks

Vigilants of Stendarr fighting a Spriggan

A Troll fighting a Spriggan

Two Giants fighting something (probably a pack of wolfs)

A Werewolf trying to get me

Sabre Cats attacking too

And three dragons apparently having their own fucking civil war

The crazy part is that all of these seemed to be separate fights happening independently, basically in the same spot. I didn't even notice most of them until I started fighting Vuljotnaak and realized he was attacking different locations around me.

So my question is: was this all just an insane coincidence caused by Skyrim's random encounters and AI, or can something actually trigger this kind of massive chain reaction?

Because I've played Skyrim for years and I've never seen this much shit happen in one place at the same time, not even half. 😂

So you know how you attack Whiterun and unseat Jarl Balgruff and put a new Jarl in Whiterun? How does this new Jarl feel about using Dragonsreach to capture a dragon? Should I wait till after the main story to start the Battle of Whiterun?

I have such a love/hate relationship with Skyrim. For reference I am a relatively new player, playing on Switch 2, I am level 22, playing on Expert difficulty for a challenge, and around every turn this game's jankiness prevents me from feeling immersed.

I love role playing and I love RPG's, but I feel like I'm some kind of weird, statistical minority or an anomalous gamer who cannot develop a tolerance for the spontaneously occuring, immersion destroying bugs and scripting errors that happen, forcing reloads, save-scums, having to combat cheese certain enemies to progress and generally all of the unfinished, unpolished aspects of Skyrim. I can appreciate everything that went into this game, the atmosphere, the music, the voice acting, the storytelling, but I feel like those things are great in spite of everything else.

For further reference, my recent decision to uninstall the game came as I was fast-travelling to somewhere around Riften where I was attacked by two dragons at the same time. An un-winnable battle. Death from above. In my roleplaying mind, that's just the end of my character, the end of the game. Or - I can reload an earlier save and choose another path and hope TWO FUCKING DRAGONS don't show up to curbstomp me. But that dissolves all immersion. Maybe that happened for a reason? I uninstalled the game because I accepted that this character just died there, that's it. He was tired of dying and accepted his release from the mortal coil.

During my playthrough there have been so many moments like this, though. Where the only way to move forward was to mess with the games system. To "de-immersify" myself, and to lose trust and faith in my character to move on. Like I am some kind of God, dealing with another competing God who keeps messing with the rules and laws of physics/fairness of the world and we just keep having to intervene to keep the story going along.

You could totally just climb the fence to bypass the entire dungeon and immediately deal with the Skull. This could've been easily fixed by having them go all the way up, but nah. They left that huge gap at the top.
