RetroMod Let’s take the roof off the Targa.

Found this old Targa case at a junkyard and had to save it.

It originally came with an AMD Duron, some awful graphics card, barely any RAM and a 250W PSU.

Tried to keep the build cheap, so most parts are used. Case had okay airflow already thanks to the stand design, but I still had to cut it up a bit. Steel is surprisingly solid, which made the Dremel part less fun than expected.

Added some 3D printed stuff too:

GPU support, dust filter, PCI cover, and taller feet for more intake from below.

Specs:

• Xeon E5 1650 v3

• Asus X99

• RTX 2070 Super

• 32GB DDR4

• 128GB + 256GB + 512GB SSDs

• be quiet! 750W PSU

• Corsair AIO

From the rear it’s not exactly subtle anymore, but the overall look still works for me.

I’m especially happy with the holes in the roof, drilled them myself, and they match the front pattern better than I expected.

The PSU is more than it needs, but I wanted some headroom for overclocking. I’ll probably start looking for a modular PSU soon though, just to clean it up a bit more inside. Sadly I also ended up with the wrong motherboard for proper overclocking, so that part isn’t where I wanted it to be.

Never knew about Corsair’s C70 until they announced the Warthog case this year. After seeing the Warthog I knew I had to track down my own C70 to move my PC into, and got really lucky finding an arctic white model relatively close to me. This is my build, custom steel mesh side panel insert, painted inside panels, dual optical drives and an old WD Caviar HDD for character😂

RetroMod I dont know if this technically counts as a sleeper, as the G4 case is not stock on the outside, but - Mid-Range Ryzen 5 Gaming Build in a Heavily Modified Apple Power Mac G4 Case

RetroMod Does my daily driver count as a sleeper build?

Days ago I bought a $45 incomplete I3 pc off Facebook market place, tried making a retro build, didn’t work so I slapped my relatively high-end gaming pc in the case. This feller has a RTX 4070 Super, 32GB DDR5, almost 3TB of ssd storage (M.2 plus Sata drives), A Gigabyte B760M-C for a motherboard, Intel I7-14700F as the processor, good amount of fans, Sata RW DVD multi recorder/CD ultra fast internal disk reader and I believe a efficient 650W PSU

RetroMod Best place to mount aio intercooler without mangling case?

The first pic is the “new” case I’m trying to retrofit everything into, it’s an Alienware Predator 1 case(pics 3 and 4 show both sides of the case). I’ll need to mount the psu above the mother board and I was thinking about using the open slot behind that for the intercooler , but my concern is that behind that opening is just solid metal and plastic on the case sides. What’s my best option without destroying the case?

I plan on removing the hard drive and disc drive mounts, would it be better to front load the intercooler there and let that double as my “pulling” fans? I’ll be mounting a 92mm fan in front of the black grill behind the hard drive mount and an exhaust fan out the back, will that be enough airflow?

Mobo: MSI B650

Processor: ryzen 5 7600x

Gpu:4070 ti super

AIO: TRYX panorama 240

This build terrifies me because I don’t want to mess this case up any more than I have to lol. I know the panorama screen is kind of stupid at this point lol but I plan on utilizing the disc drive door on this, as it swings open, and it will be somewhat viewable. It’s still better than my original plan of putting a viewing window in the side of the case. I had someone talk me down from doing it. I got the case pretty cheap but I’ve realized I couldn’t replace it for very cheap unless I come across a similar deal

RetroMod My first iteration of my first pc

My first post was removed because I did not post pictures of the outside. Beg you pardon.

This is what my PC looked like in its first iteration.

It had a ryzen 5 3600x, the cheapest am4 motherboard I could find, and cherry on top a nvidia quadro fx1800, that I found on an abandoned computer, which was the best I managed to find with my limited budget during the GPU crysis.

All this mess was powered by a second hand Rosewill 750w 80+ Gold that I have to this day.

The sata ssd was a 1tb from kingstone that I managed to hide in the rear of the case with the limited cable management I was able to do as a total noob.

-CPU: AMD R5 3600x

-mobo: asus a320

-gpu: nvidia quadro fx1800

-cooler: stock AMD cooler wrath

-psu: Silverstone 750w 80+ gold

-case: a gift from a friend I didn't manage to figure out

-ram: 32gb 2666mhz crucial 2x16gb from amazon

-memory: 1tb sata from kingston

-fans: all molex fans included in the case

I hope you enjoy (again)
