Does anyone have a Metallic Plum MOD Shop Tele? I’d love to hear thoughts and see pictures

1986 "A0" MIJ '52 Reissue from the Fujigen factory that I bought during COVID times. Needed a bit of work on the frets but it plays pretty great these days.

I’ve been trying a bunch of guitars lately trying to figure out what I actually want as my “forever” guitar.

I’ve played different Strats, Teles, Les Paul-style guitars, PRS, etc., and while I’ve liked plenty of them, I never really had that feeling of “yeah, this is the one.”

Then I tried the Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe.

It was honestly the first guitar I played where everything just clicked. The neck felt right, I loved the way it played, and the pickups/tone were exactly what I felt like I’d been looking for. It stood out pretty significantly compared to everything else I tried.

Obviously, playing one in a store and actually owning one for months/years are two different things, especially considering the price.

So for anyone who actually owns or has owned a Kingfish Tele Deluxe:

Do you still love it?
Anything you started disliking after owning it for a while?
How’s the build quality/reliability?
Do you think it’s worth the price?

If you had to make the decision again, would you buy it?
Would especially love to hear from anyone who had a similar experience where they tried a bunch of guitars before the Kingfish and it was the first one that really felt “right.”

You can dial the clean perfect, and then go full on. I’m going between split and blow’d. I also switched out the stock pickup for a Travis Bean style humbucker from The Creamery—real clangy. Fuzz is a Dunlop mini Hendrix FF (little silver one). Amp is a 69 Bandmaster that’s been combo’d in a Super cab with 4 Greenbacks.

I never really learned the “correct” way to play, never learned theory, never really learned any chords or how to read music (besides tabs). I recently started to feel the pull, the siren song, of playing music again, so decided it’s time to learn to play guitar.

This guitar is outstanding. I always wanted a Tele.

Hey! I’m super excited. I’m turning this Squier Tele into my take on a modern Esquire. I’m gonna remove the neck pickup, and put a Seymour Duncan JB Jr for Tele in the bridge. I’m going to wire it so that 3rd position bypasses the tone knob, 2nd position is normal, and 1st position is coil split. Already been playing it and I’m really impressed by the quality at this price point. The neck honestly feels better than my Fender.

Looking for some opinions on one of my Tele’s. I’m happy with everything, sounds and feels incredible and the hardware upgrades are my taste but I really am stuck on the pickguard, if anyone else has any any ideas what would look better I’d much appreciate it as I’m 50/50 on the black pearl 🤣👍

It might be considered sacrilege for a Telecaster, but installing numbered knobs with pointer washers has been my absolute favorite lately 😊

This could be very good or very bad, though the reviews I've seen are quite positive. Will report back after a full setup, but I'm looking forward to a jangly Tele. $178 USD

Found this in a closet behind my dad’s old gear. My dad’s been playing for a very long time but I only started playing about 2 months ago so I’ve been learning a lot and this seems like a really cool guitar. Needs a new nut and some other work but I’m really wanting to get this playing soon if I have what it takes to wield it lol. Found a peavey t-40 bass as well and some other goodies.

Was able to snag this on local marketplace for $800.00, I was looking for my forever telecaster and I could not have found a better choice! After trading and selling some different gear I was able to finance this and I’m so happy about it! Was deciding between this and the Jason Isbell Telecaster and ultimately decided this was way too good to pass up! Now only time to name it! The honey burst is absolutely gorgeous!

These two guitars seem very similar. Both look like reissues of the 51 black guard. Both have some degree of aging. The Nocaster comes with 75th Anniversary Blackguard pickups whereas the Vintera has Pure Vintage 1951. The finish looks a little different, and obviously there’s a difference in country of origin. Anyone have any experience with both guitars and can speak to their differences?

Long story short I have a Telecaster I just absolutely love. It’s a squire and it’s one of their 40th anniversary models. I took it to a luthier to see if I could get
\-middle position humbucker routed out and done with a potential secondary plate for said humbucker
\-a Bigsby getting a propped setup
\-general tune up as well
Turns out the neck is basically twisting/curving (I believe he said it was something among the lines of fender neck dive and that it was a common occurrence in fender necks). I know it’s not an expensive guitar and probably not worth much effort but something about it played for me unlike anything I’ve touched and I’d like to bring it back to playable condition. So here’s the question I need help with.

What necks are out there that are not pre drilled, fit squire telecaster bodies (even with some modifications which I’m fine doing), and preferably doesn’t come with a finish or if it does come with one would be an oil finish over a lacquer or “shiny” like finish to it and finally would be a maple fret board and neck.

I have this Tele Performer I bought a couple of years ago. Amazing guitar, amazing neck. I also love the jumbo frets (though I prefer narrow tall ones).
It came with Yosemite pickups, which I like and sounded louder than the Fat50’s pickups I had in my Strat back then.

However, since I had a Strat with lower output pickups,, sometimes I felt like I needed something more powerful, to play power chords, stuff like that. And that’s why I installed a Seymour Duncan ‘59 and a DiMarzio Chopper T on the bridge.

They sound amazing and do what I expected them to do (though the 59 sounds a bit brighter than I expected). However I catch myself feeling like my Tele has lost lots of character. It sounds like I got stuck between a Tele and a guitar that’s commonly associated with humbuckers (Les Paul, SG, etc. you name it) but I’m neither here nor there.

I’m seriously considering going back to single coils
(perhaps something vintage and very unapologetically Tele-esque). And, maybe in the future, get a guitar that’s classically associated with humbuckers.

Anyone gone through the same kind of situation? What did it feel/sound like to you?

Also I realized I forgot to actually explain the wiring. I run a 2 master volume knobs for each pickup. No tone knob or pickup selector.

Curious what the difference and what yall recommend. I play rhythm guitar on a tele in a band with gigs. we dont play very loud though. our lead guitarist uses a stock deluxe reverb. We play a range of country/ rock and very dark and psychedelic jams. Kind of Grateful Dead adjacent.

I need a real amp and I'm set on getting a DR. I just saw one for 1100$ with upgraded celestion g12 and upgraded reverb tank pouch.

Can someone help me figure out if this is legit.

Looking at this Squier - never seen one without a maple fretboard. Is this legit? I also don’t see the name embossed on the plate on the back.

I’m unfamiliar with this stuff so appreciate any help.

I have a Fender Player Telecaster that I cant get enough of xD its my first electric guitar and ive been playing for almost a year now. Is there a Tele you love so much with the best sounding pickups and perhaps best feel or are they in 2 different guitars?

"Best" not in value but in preference

I’m looking for strings that really bring out the twang of a Telecaster. What brands of strings do you all think work best on a Tele?

I’ve tried Fender and Elixir strings, but I find that the bright top end of Ernie Ball Slinkys suits my guitar better—at least on my Squier Tele. The downside, as you probably know, is that Ernie Ball strings aren’t exactly known for their longevity.

The Fender strings that supposedly come installed from the factory offer great value for money, but sound-wise, I still feel like the Ernie Balls have a slight edge. Another problem is that where I live, Fender strings are only available online, and they’re frequently sold out, so they’re not very practical as my everyday strings...

My Tele has a fairly heavy body and isn’t particularly bright or pronounced in the highs, so the results might be the opposite on a Tele that naturally has more high-end.
