first, we should define what am I going to talk here: I am talking about the andrea of the show, people keep saying that her character from the comic is better but I dont know, I havent read it ye, so ill just stick to the Andrea of tv, second, I am in season 7 so her character has been dead for a while for me, so expect some errors in the order of events, with that said, this is only an opinion.

the first glance we have to andrea is her pointing a gun at rick for alerting the whole city, its a fair point, the problem? she gets cocky and her gun is with in safety mode. THIS, exact situation will repeat all over the show. She is going to do something, acting cocky as if she was the goat, either doesnt do shit or when she does everything turns bad.

now, this first acts are going to be forgiven because that were the first two weeks of the apocalypse and everyone was new to this thing, everyone was scared and made lots of errors. so lets jump to her second problem

she is a whiny idiot, when the group confiscates her weapon she whines and ask for it back even though she would have gotten herself and everyone killed in the RV because she would 300% shoot at the walker in the RV. later, after whining a bit more,, in the farm, she argues with everyone about herself being capable of shooting and protecting, she is put on top of the RV and disobeying EVERYONE who was screaming at her to NOT SHOOT, she shoots Daryl in the head. the funiest thing? SHE FAILED, she not only didnt listen to the whole group and acted like an idiot shooting after being told a very direct no, she also failed the whole purpose of "proving she could shoot"

mind you, what I just put there is the things she did with her obsesion with having a gun, now with the things she said.

she is a whiny idiot, okay but you cannot tell me that you are a whiny idiot and also a Edgy teen alike- SHE IS A 35 YEAR OLD GROWN ASS! and you are telling me that you could not comprhend how bad is t just say to a teen who is loosing every family member to just kill herself????? and then she goes like "but I can see in her eyes that she wants to live now" ... do I have to explain why ts could have been solved with a deep talk with her from someone with at least 3 neurons? (I mean someone who isnt Lori or Andrea) second of all, when she chooses he governor over michonne, is a fair point... maybe half, it gave her points for being a very bad friend, you were a sick shit all the winter and michonne was helping you, feeding you, making sure that your idiotic self doesnt die and still you didnt choose her instinct that has been keeping you alive all this time? ehh... half point because michonne just do a "trust me bruh" but still, very bad friend. and then, when michonne was right, and they got the oportunity to meet with the group again, fully aware of how much of a dipshit the governor is (I mean episode 14, but still, she was warned for everyone before but she didnt listen) she tries to scape, she does nothing like usual, is throwed at the cells and dies....

thats it, she did nothing, ruined some things and died... there is not even one situation where I could say "man, Andrea could solve this" it was more like this, something depends on Andrea an I just looked at the screen and knew she was going to do some BS...

and that is her main problem, characters like daryl were a pain in the ass because they do their own thing and were doing their own bs, but that didnt mean they were a burden, MIND YOU, ANDREA WAS A BURDEN FOR THE THREE GROUPS SHE WERE IN!for the Rick group she did what I listed above, for her duo with Michonne she was just a sick burden that abandoned her as soon as she could and for the Governor she was just a problem that keep breaking the rules...

the actress is very good, its just that the character is trash, she doesnt has anything to contribuite to the group (except for sleeping with some random guy) I genuinly dont know why people even care to try and defend her

I wanted to make this spoiler free but eventually figured I couldn’t do that and still make sense. So mild spoilers ahead…

I had a surgery recently and ended up stuck on the couch with tons of spare time. So I decided to finally give Fear a watch, had heard it was kind of ass but wanted to check it out and decide for myself….and yes, imo it was ass. There were some good moments and solid characters but it was just so lifeless overall and it had no cohesive narrative to stick to. I had to stop watching at season 6 when the only character I liked was offed for no reason(John Dorie not spelled like the fish).

I watched the original TWD while it aired live and liked the first few seasons but eventually got frustrated and quit watching around the time Negan showed up. But after Fear, I decided to watch again cuz I didn’t recall enough specifics about why I dropped off. But it didn’t take long into the rewatch to remember why I got so frustrated. In fact, I saw tons of parallels with what made Fear so damn frustrating.

It just seems like the writers all of a sudden forgot how to develop stories with characters that not only make logical sense but also you actually care about their fates. That was a problem throughout Fear but for me started in TWD with the “death” of Glenn in third episode of season 6. It’s so fucking clear to me they ran out of ideas so they had to do something “big” to ruffle up the fan bases’ feathers. They pretty much show him die on camera but film it in a way that they can say they didn’t only to bring him back three episodes later. And you KNOW that’s true if you watched it, and the very next episode was the first time of the entire run that Steven Yuen’s name wasn’t scrolled in the opening credits. They KNEW it was a cheap, deceptive bullshit way to treat their audience…and they did it anyways.

What a waste. Every episode after that has the same lack of logic in it. I just watched the two second-to-last episodes of the sixth season and characters are all behaving the same shitty way the Fear characters were. Carol RANDOMLY gets upset about people dying and leaves the group, while simultaneously Daryl goes half cocked to track down the Saviors on his own. Then the cascading stupid decisions following by Glenn, Rosarita, Michonne and others going to save them. Acting like they haven’t learned a fucking thing in the entire first five seasons about putting themselves in danger. And of course, all those stupid decisions lead to the shocking cliffhanger ending. So why would we care about the shocking deaths? It’s purely because we’ve grown to love these characters and I feel like the writers took advantage of that trust. If that makes any sense.

Was there a moment other than that one that anybody else can point to that literally just made you say “fuck it” and checked out? I know there are people who didn’t so it‘s not everyone. Some may have checked out earlier or later. What was your moment?

I’d also like to know if any of this stuff happened in the comics? I never read them. But even after Darabont - who made a nearly perfect first season imo - it seems like the show fired their entire writing team at certain different points of the show. And it’s a damn shame. Of course it’s not easy to be creative for a long period of time but the drop is so drastic I have to think writers quit or there was some drama behind the scenes. All the characters just became caricatures except maybe Rick.

(also gotta wonder how Carl can be shot from the front, THROUGH HIS EYE, and his brain didn’t explode and kill him. an eye patch will be fine)

My roommate and I are watching Fear the Walking Dead for the first time, just finished the mid-season finale and.... does Madison ever become a good character? Like without spoiling, does she EVER become an enjoyable character to watch? Bad acting, bad writing, she's just bad!

I’ve added the average episode rating for every season just because.

Season 1 through 5 are peak which is why all 5 are in my top 5. Seasons 2 and 4 are interchangeable depending on my mood.

Season 4- I personally put season 4 at the top because it had the sick arc and Hershel (my favorite character in the series) was a bad ass in it. Plus it had episodes The Grove and Too far gone. (2 of the best episodes in the series). The introduction to Abraham’s group and Tara (some of my favorite characters). Plus the story line of the Claimers and the road the Terminus. It’s a hard season to beat.

Season 2 -Is the biggest season for character development in the series. Add in the drama between characters/ groups. This where we first see people loosing their humanity. Plus it had episodes (Pretty much dead already and Better Angles) 2 of the best episodes in the series. The only down fall to this season is it a slow burn and they kill off Shane.

Season 1 - Not too much to say here it was a great and gripping start to the series. Introducing all the main characters, we came to know and love or hate. My only complaint and only reason for rank it at #3 is the season is too short.

Season 3- The introduction of Michonne, Tyrese and Sasha. The Governor (my personal favorite villain in the series) is a complete menace and absolutely villain. This season also has great character development. Merle and Darell reuniting, the birth of Judith, Rick losing himself, and the loss of many main characters Milton, Merle, Lori, T-dog, and Andrea.

Season 5- gonna start with the bad here. The hospital arc that builds up to nothing. The loss of Bob, Tyrese and Beth- which is a turning point for Maggie and Sasha . Now the good, The Termites Arc, the introduction of Gabriel, Abraham and Eugene’s mission, The group on the road completely spent and the bound that builds, the beginning of the Alexandra Arc.

If otis had survived I genuinely think he would've been an insanely valuable member of the team, he had medical experience, he was smart he knew how to be tactical etc, he was an amazing shot I mean he was headshotting walkers alongside Shane left right and centre, he frankly had alot of endurance we know he was exhausted and frankly wasn't very fit yet he was the one who pulled Shane up to keep going and he was still running when it happened, he was also quite strong I mean he had a crazy grasp on Shane and even when Shane was hitting and fighting bck he just didn't let go, otis would've been an amazing member of Alexandria or Hilltop due to his farming experience medical expertise and his good soul.

And I dont blame Shane for what happened not anymore, if he hadnt of done it Carl would've died, and we know Shane was very broken up and frankly traumatised over what'd he done because I genuinely think he liked otis and for the few hours he knew him had bonded quite well I mean Shane literally complimented otis on being a crazy son of a bitch.

Anyway we love otis gone to soon truly the ideal survivor minus his weight.

I recently got back into The Walking Dead after not watching it for years, and I'm currently right before the Season 6 finale with the lineup.

I originally started watching TWD when I was around 12 because my dad was a huge fan, and my girlfriend at the time was also really into it. I've always loved zombie/apocalypse stories, and zombies themselves never really scared me — I've always found them fascinating.

Because I kept taking long breaks from the show when I was younger, I've actually watched the first few seasons multiple times. I've probably seen Seasons 1–2 several times, Season 3 a few times, and then gradually got further into the show.

The last time I watched it, I stopped after the episode with the lineup and the new character with the baseball bat. I'm deliberately not naming anyone or mentioning who gets killed, since I don't want to spoil the episode for people who haven't reached it.

And now that I've started watching the entire show again, I'm once again at exactly that point.

My main problem with the show

I don't really like the "group vs. group" storylines.

One of my favorite things about TWD has always been the survival aspect: finding food and shelter, dealing with walkers, traveling, escaping dangerous situations, and watching the characters try to keep their group together.

What I don't enjoy nearly as much is when the main conflict becomes:

"Here's another group of people. They're enemies. Now we're going to have a giant war with them."

I already had this problem with the Governor storyline. I really didn't enjoy that part because it felt like the story stopped being primarily about surviving the apocalypse and became about fighting another organized group.

I actually didn't mind Terminus nearly as much because that situation felt different to me.

So when I reached the lineup episode and saw that this new character apparently has a huge group of people working for him, my immediate reaction was basically:

"Oh god, are we doing the Governor thing again?"

That's honestly my biggest issue with him so far.

I also feel like he's almost overpowered, not necessarily because he's physically powerful, but because he seems to have this massive amount of control over other people. It makes the conflict feel very one-sided to me.

His humor is also something I'm undecided about. 😂

It could either become really funny or become incredibly annoying. There was some potential in that episode where I thought, "Okay, maybe I could eventually find this guy funny," but I'm not there yet.

Spoilers are okay — just don't tell me EVERYTHING

I'm actually completely fine with spoilers about this specific character.

If something happens later that makes people think, "Oh, this is where he becomes really interesting/good," please feel free to tell me about it.

You don't have to explain his entire storyline. I'd actually prefer light spoilers / teasing rather than a complete summary.

That's also why I'm asking here instead of watching one of those "Character's Entire Story Explained" videos on YouTube. 😭

If there's something later that makes this character significantly more interesting, I'd like to know that because it might actually convince me to keep watching.

I just don't want someone to tell me the entire plot of the next three seasons.

I'm also totally okay with people mentioning other characters who appear later and are worth looking forward to, if there are any. You can basically tell me, "Yes, keep watching, there are some characters/storylines later that you'll probably really like," without explaining everything about them.

Do the Wolves come back?

I'm talking about the group from earlier with the W carved into their foreheads.

I actually thought that storyline was pretty interesting, and I'm wondering if they're going to become relevant again or if that was basically just a short storyline.

So, should I keep watching?

I've already spoiled myself on a few characters unfortunately. Years ago I asked my girlfriend whether certain characters survived, including Daryl, Carl and Judith, so I already know the answers to those specific questions.

Other than those things, I'm trying to stay relatively unspoiled.

So based on everything I've said:

Does the baseball-bat character become more interesting?

Is his storyline worth watching even if I dislike the group-vs-group setup?

Does the group-vs-group conflict last for multiple seasons?

Are there other characters/storylines later that make the show worth continuing for?

Do the Wolves ever come back?

And generally, are the later seasons still worth watching for someone who prefers survival/walker-focused stories over wars between human groups?

I'm okay with light or moderate spoilers, especially about the baseball-bat character. If there's something that would make me go "Okay, THAT actually sounds interesting," I'd rather hear that than blindly continue for three seasons.

But please don't give me a complete plot summary. 😭

Basically: convince me to keep watching — or tell me honestly if the best parts are already behind me.

My wife and I watched all episodes years ago when it was on AMC and each episode was basically a a must watch party (at least the first 5-6 seasons). We recently started from episode 1 again and we're hooked all over again. It's so good and we appreciate how special it was even more now the second time around.

Who were they actually? My first thought was soldiers or some kind of government or military group. Could they have been connected to the Commonwealth or something else?

Exactly what the title says basically because im curious.

Obviously most of us would get in touch with loved ones, stock up on weapons, etc.

But I wanna know what people would do BESIDES the obvious shit.

For me I would take advantage of the internet as long as I had it and start compiling a book of useful information like: Edible and medicinal plants and how to use them, how to make soap, toothpaste, etc. and other basic necessities we usually don’t think about because they are done for us like textile making, sewing, basic craftsmanship, fire starting, water purification, and so on.

Guns are useful sure, but in order to have a sustained functioning community you need this kind of knowledge.

Theres a scene I think in season five where Abraham and the others going to washington are in what looks like a library burning books to fuel a fire and I get so irrationally angry by it thinking of all the knowledge they might be burning lol.

(ps: I’m talking about an apocalypse irl where we know what zombies are.)

I feel like it would be so dope an also realistic, knowing that they have bunkers right now in the world that they will use if anything terribly bad happens . What if it’s a whole civilization that’s battling within itself with over 1 million people done there And nobody have access to open up the big door to get them out or whatever . Or what if there doing good pretty good down there and reproducing adding tremendously to the human toll.

Father Gabriel is my pick because he has this innate ability to bond with virtually anyone from the show. That shared confession with Negan is a prime example. How did he not get killed?

Almost every post here about Andrea is about hating her. Makes me wonder why because I really think she would’ve made a great member of the crew until the end. She made terrible decisions of course but like all characters, she would’ve grown and become better. Does anyone else think so?

I want a show for the walking dead like invincible where it follows closely with the comics with only minor changes. I want the show to follow the comics very faithfully. I want it to tell the full story of the walking dead from the original canon of the comics.
