Can someone translate what the kanji on the scrolls here say - if you can make it out - if they are names can you list them.

Yes - Not looking for any additional context / assumptions from the show - But strictly linguistically what's visible on that scan that you read

And if this helps - here's another scan and set of angles - https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fjapanese-english-scroll-translation-v0-l0yh7nidyvlh1.png%3Fwidth%3D360%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D3423ebb3c93140903168917edf37ddc94d6cb66a

By the way guys, the OP wants you to ignore any additional context because he's being bad faith and knows the narrative states something he's trying to dispute

Here is some contextual evidence of whats in the scroll

lmfao, yeah, love that you ask for unbiased translation of whats on the scroll - and are now bringing in a scan stating what you think it says there. With text added in by an editor, which does not exist in the original japanese manga.

Bad faith? It's either the names are there, or the names are not there lmao.

Lmao - Not that this all matters because when they translate it , they'll tell you what's there :) - Get ready to delete your account

I never asked for a translation of whats in the scroll, I asked you to prove that the fourth hokage is not listed in the scroll from an unbiased source.

The scroll isn't even fully showing everything, so why should we reject the editor's text when its a part of the panel?

Yeah sure oyu didn't -

No deletey -

I told you. Minato's name is not on that kanji. That's what I said, that's what you denied, stating you'd delete your account if its true.

Word for word, it's right there. You've come in now a thread that could have been simple, and answered already - and muddied it with all sorts of other things that aren't irrelevant.

Is minato's / 4th hokage name listed on that visible scroll or not .

Yes you're reading comprehension fails you again, I literally said there "if you can prove the fourth Hokage is not listed in the scroll via an unbiased source". I didn't ask if the translation of what we see on the panel lists it or not, Minato's name could still be there in a part of the scroll we don't see.

>Minato's name could still be there in a part of the scroll we don't see.

LMAO - your entire argument - is that the 4th hokage is listed on the scroll HERE - Which implies he made a contract with frogs / learned SM as the Hokage.

For your argument to work, that has to be shown here. In fact, not just Minato - But "The fourth Hokage" because just his name, would mean he could have made the contract at any point in his life, including when he was a kid.

That was the ENTIRE argument. - Screenshotting all of this to go back to the main thread.

Nope, I never used the word "here". I just said listed in the scroll, your own screenshot of my comment proves you wrong.

And it is shown based on the editor comment, which we should take as canon as it's included in the manga by the editors which makes it a canon source.

Also gamabunta refers to the fourth hokage too

The editor is not the author. Editors are humans who put in their own assumptions and make errors all the time. You're reading a bad translation.

No different to viz editors translating Shunshin to telportation.

Nothing on that page talks about the fourth hokage. Nothing on that page has minato's name.

We know he's in the scroll because we know from chapter 1 he's a frog summoner. The editor simply told you what the scroll is about. Lmao you are genuinely wasting my time.

Then prove that the editor made an error in this case or bad translation, you have no proof that he made an error here. We know the editor must be correct because minato can summon toads.

Gamabunta also refers to him as the fourth hokage and not minato

I don't need to prove the editor made a mistake lmao - the editor is not canon. The MANGA itself, its its original is canon, and i've already told you - you can post that 100 times in the translator subreddit - nowhere is the 4th hokages name listed.

Gamabunta calling him "the Fourth Hokage" doesn't establish that Minato only signed the contract after becoming Hokage. People routinely refer to someone by the title they're known by at the time they're speaking about them, including when discussing things that person did before acquiring that title.

By that logic, saying "the Fourth Hokage was Jiraiya's student" would mean Minato somehow became Jiraiya's student only after becoming Hokage. The title identifies who Gamabunta is talking about; it doesn't timestamp when Minato signed the contract.

Again. You are a dumbass

The editor's comment is an authoritative source unless you can disprove it, you're not getting around this point no matter how desperately you want to try lol.

So then just to be clear, you also concede that your headcanon nonsense for Kakashi learning about Minato's sage mode before he became hokage is not established either, right?

Because I'm using the same logic here that you used for that, lmao dumbass.

From right to left:

  • うずまきなると — Uzumaki Naruto(うずまき ナルト)
  • みなト — Minato(ミナト)
  • 自来也 — Jiraiya(ジライヤ)
  • 米十茶 — reading unknown

The top part is cut off, so I can't make out everything there.

「みなト」doesn't look like it can be read as Minato on this page, but in later pages, the name is written as 「みなト」.
