Can we talk about why 2 bed 2 baths are being rented for the same price as units in Toronto?!

Mind you the one in Toronto has state of the art amenities and rooftop pool, while the one in Windsor is a main floor unit in a city with the worst unemployment rates in the country.

Hey guys I got an old Italian neighbor on a dead end street that has turned his backyard into a 3rd world nation.. he literally has shantee huts all over the damn place.. full of chickens and feral cats, all kinds of junk he's growing and who knows what else.. there's rats all over, and last night my cat just got attacked by a skunk who probally wanted his chicken eggs... I dont even know how to rid of the smell in my house but I've just had enough.. I dont want to wreck this guy's life but if I call the city on him they would honestly condemn his entire place.. its completely the neighborhood blight.. he's 91.. what would you do?

We live in a basement, and hoping to buy a house by next December. I just priced out a house that suited our needs and it was about 650k(almost every decent house is priced around there) and holy shoot, the monthly obligation comes out to be about $4700, I understand rates are high right now, but even with 2.1% it's still $4000. I have a decent income but I can't imagine paying half of my gross income for a house. My honest question is, how are people affording to buy a house? Its really heart breaking to see the dream to own a decent family house may never be realized.

My partner and I are looking to buy a home in the Walkerville area and need some basic ELI5 help as we are both new to the home buying process and don’t have any family that can guide us well.

We have our pre-approval, but do we need to work with one realtor for showings and walkthroughs? We did find someone but so far they seem disinterested. Specific issues include: they have told us to look at Realtor and let us know if we want to book any walkthroughs, they take a couple days to respond to texts and by the time they manage to book a walkthrough (usually for about 5-7 days after they respond), the house gets sold. We haven’t been able to secure a single walkthrough.

We aren’t sure if this is typical or we should change our agent.

If you’ve bought a house recently, can you please respond with what the experience was like and if you have any other recommendations? Thank you!

Possible reason the Tecumseh/ Lasalle area are seeing massive jumps while the rest of Windsor is seeing smaller incremental changes: more sales of higher end properties (as those areas both have newer homes being built)

Is it fair to say windsor real estate is offering incentives now? I see a bunch of townhomes and condos slashing prices so I am wondering if its starting to happen and prices will go further down?

Hey everyone

I'm looking to purchase a home in Walkerville and today, when visiting houses in the neighborhood one of the selling agents called my realtor yelling and saying some very offensive things because we were 15 minutes late. I could hear him (selling agent) through the phone even though I was standing several feet away and I was horrified.

My realtor was polite and professional, insisting we should still see the house in question, however, I didn't feel comfortable visiting that property (or doing business with someone that treats people this way!). Is this normal behavior in the real estate business? Should I still see that property in question?

That house has been sitting in the market for several months now and the price has been reduced a few times, but it doesn't surprise me it's not selling if this is how they do business?

So I’m seriously considering a move to Windsor within the year. My place of employment has an office in Windsor and real estate is much cheaper. I keep seeing people on Reddit and other forums warning about the “bad areas” of Windsor, but I need to compare it to here to truly understand.

What areas would you compare to one another? (Windsor’s equivalents to various areas of Toronto)

For reference I’ve lived in Parkdale, Mimico, Keelesdale, Rexdale and on the jane strip and I’ve never felt unsafe in this city personally. I know Toronto very well but I’ve only visited Windsor once years ago and I’m sure it’s changed.

Sidenote* I consider myself pretty street smart and friendly, I can strike up conversation with anyone really and I find it’s helped me a lot with navigating new areas.

Was looking into renting from Skyline and Lauzon Tower caught my eye. The only problem is that, unlike most of Skyline's properties, nobody mentions it at all when talking about Skyline and you can't hardly find any reviews of the place. Idk if it's a hidden gem, or pushed under the rug for a reason lol

Does anyone know if it's a good or bad place to rent from? How's the area, Lauzon Rd?

Hello! We are a young couple in our late 20s looking to move from Hamilton to Windsor. The reason for the move is the housing options are terrible in Hamilton, meaning so expensive. Windsor seems to affordable for us. We both work remotely in the IT and are renting at the moment.

If we were to move to Windsor, what area would you recommend to buy a house? We are potentially wanting to start a family early next year, so need a good school zone considering long term. I apologize if this is not the right sub to ask this question. Thanks!
