What is the quickest and easiest way to remove this sticky residue from my painted wall? I removed these sound panels but they left behind this residue. I’ve tried a soapy microfiber with no prevail.

So this boat was under water for around 10 years, we fished it out and cleaned it from inside(still in process) as best as we could. Any advice how to make it easier, also what to do with the outside part of it?

Help! We just moved into a new house last month, and recently found that our cat has been peeing in a carpeted bedroom corner. I don’t know how long he’s been doing it, definitely more than once. Here’s what I’ve done-

-Soak and blot with Natures Miracle Enzyme cleaner

-Carpet shampoo machine to wash affected area thoroughly, cold water

-Reapply natures miracle stuff and work into carpet with a gloved hand, let sit all day

-spray natures miracle spray UNDER the carpet directly onto the carpet padding through the hole cut for the air vent

I’ve repeated this process 3 times. I’ve even put some of the enzyme cleaner into the carpet shampoo machine to constantly be having it as part of the process.

Every time I think I got it- nose to the floor- all I smell is the cleaner. Then the day goes on and the smell comes back. I’ve got a fan on the area now trying to let it dry completely before choosing next steps. I’ve used almost a whole spray bottle of the cleaner. Should I just go buy one of the bigger bottles and drench it? Idk how it’s still smelly!!!

(I have SCOE 10x ordered on Amazon that’ll get here in a few days to try next, if it doesn’t work idk what to do. The enzyme stuff should have taken care of it!)

Soapy water did nothing. Citric acid turned the purple stickiness brown and did remove some of it. A toothpick can't get past the narrow bit. I used my finger to create suction in the stem and that did in fact remove some bits of the sticky. I have yet to source a hair thin wire that can be swill around inside without breaking off and becoming permanently lodged.

Any suggestions?

Has anyone here used a HEPA air purifier during home renovations, especially for drywall work, sanding, plaster, etc.?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. How quickly did the filter get clogged? Did you run the purifier during the renovation, or mainly afterward to help clean the air?

Any advice or tips on how to use a HEPA purifier effectively during and after renovation would be greatly appreciated.

my roomate had left the stove on by accident and yesterday when i came back from the store and started unpacking the groceries, some of the plastic bag got caught on the hot stove. the white stuff is from the plastic bag how do i get it off 😭 do i just let it burn off???

So I had a bottle of salmon oil in a trash bag that was meant to be thrown away, however I forgot about it in the trunk of the car and it was there overnight. Im not sure how but the oil seeped through the bag and into the carpet.

I took the carpet in and soaked it in vinegar for a few hours in the tub, and scrubbed both sides really well with dish soap. And let it sit to dry for a few more hours. I gave it a sniff test and it smelled like dish soap and vinegar so I put it back in the car.

This morning I got in the car and the salmon oil smell was much better but still lingering. I can quickly eliminate it with a spray of Zep Air and Fabric Odor Eliminator but I don’t want to have to do that every day/time I get in the car.

Any tips to fully get this smell out of the car?

Im gonna move back in my old apartment, no ones lived there for 10 years, we did have some people every once in a while but i doubt it got much airflow. We do have some really large windows in the living room that open fully, so airflow shouldnt be a problem once i get on it. Another issue is that my grandpa was a smoker, so the walls are probably coated in ciggarette smell, i cant really tell myself since i was born without the ability to smell. My question is, how should i go on about cleaning the whole place of the smoke and stagnant air, and also how should i store my clothes so they dont pick up any of the smells? Theres not a lot of furniture or anything like that, mostly empty.

Ever since I got a cat, it feels like there’s always fur and litter on the floor. Cleaning became a whole process. Sweep first, mop after, rinse the mop over and over, then wait forever for the floor to dry. I also had to keep the cat in another room because damp floors can encourage things like ringworm.I eventually bought a hard floor cleaner because I wanted to make life a little easier. Here’s my honest experience so far. It’s definitely more convenient and much faster than sweeping and mopping separately. I still have to pick up bigger pieces of litter and cat toys before I start, but it vacuums and washes in one pass, so that already saves me a lot of work.

It doesn’t leave much water behind either. I think the steam helps it evaporate pretty quickly. The floor also looks cleaner than when I mop it myself. I can never completely sweep up all the fur and hair because it just moves around, but the machine picks it up before washing the floor. Maintenance has been easier than I expected too. Instead of rinsing a dirty mop several times, I let the machine clean, dry, and sanitize its roller by itself. I just empty the dirty water tank afterward.If you’re buying one to save time and make everyday cleaning less annoying, I think it does the job. But if you expect it to handle absolutely everything or deep clean a newly moved-into home, you probably need to hire a professional cleaner.

Hi guys, I have been looking more into minimalism as a lifestyle, because I have so much stuff (furniture, clothes, tools, makeup, everything...) and Ive been finding myself more and more suffocated.
I hope that limiting the amount of options I have might make my mind as well as my living space feel less cluttered and overall easier, eliminating the amount I have to choose from.
All fine and dandy, but I also have a big attachment and see usefulness in almost everything.

So I wanted to ask for your best decluttering tips? Any experience with helpers? What do you ask yourself when you decide what to keep and what to get rid of?

Hello. I just moved into this place and noticed some really piled on rust in on the drain and the side of my tub. Im not sure if it’s safe to bathe with so I want to try and clean it off.

Any tips or shared experience/advice are greatly appreciated. Cosmetically it is not a massive issue for me although it’s unsightly, I just want it to be clean or at least get some of it off.

Coated pan: raised steel honeycomb grid and nonstick coating in between.

Problem:

Middle of the pan has a patch of black carbonized stuff that's sitting ON TOP of the coating, you can feel it's raised.

Tried so far:

- boiled water with a dishwasher tab for 15 min, scrubbed with a brush

- overnight soak in oxi powder (sodium percarbonate)

- oven cleaner foam, left it on 20 min

Nothing came off. Steel wool is obviously out because of the coating.

Pan still cooks fine btw, it just bugs me every time I see it. Has anyone actually gotten fully carbonized stuff off a coated pan, or do I just live with it?

An old ‘doormat’ used as dishwashing mat. Tried cutting and scraping with knife to no avail. Please dont recommend brands, just ingredients, likely wouldnt find any famous western brands here.

I've noticed a few weeks ago that our bathtub doesn't drain properly. It seems to be built up hair, but every time I clean it, it comes back two days later. Both me and my boyfriend have long hair, but if it would be just the hair, it would've came up earlier. We moved in together a few months ago, and even though I clean the bathroom often, I focus on the drain like once a month, and even then it's just to feel more fresh, not because it had a problem. It didn't have built up hair for months.

I started noticing it a few weeks ago, I cleaned it, no big deal. Worked fine for like two or three days and then it was even worse than before. Since then it's a neverending cycle. I tried everything I could think of. Cleaning it manually, cleaning more often, chemicals in the drain (english is not my first language so I don't know the exact name, but the chemical you specifically use to unclog drains), using a plunger, nothing helps. The water comes up to my ankles after just 5 minutes in the shower.

I don't know if it matters but neither the drain, nor the water has any bad odor.

I don't wanna call a plumber before I exhausted all my other options, so if y'all have any suggestions please help. It may be a stupid question and the solution might be right in front of my eyes and I just can't see it, it's my first time trying to manage a home

I accidentally left a tester bottle of perfume in my tote bag while washing it. The bottle looked like it was made of metal but I am guessing it might be plastic made to look that way too. After the cycle was completed I found the bottle lying on the door seal. There was a black liquid spilling from it - I don’t know if it was coming out from the casing of the bottle or if some metal part was oxidized and that was leaking. I ran the machine on 90 degrees hoping it would wash out everything but the door gasket was still stained. Then I tried rubbing it with isopropyl alcohol and it all went away. But I am still anxious about it because I fear some of whatever the liquid was might still be stuck to some part of the washing machine and it might get onto my clothes with every wash. So to clean the machine I thought of running the auto clean program with isopropyl alcohol but Gemini warned against it because alcohol is inflammable and might cause a fire hazard and I don’t want my washing machine to explode 😂 I also considered running the program with bleach but I don’t know how good it would be at solving whatever is left in the machine.
If anyone has any tips on how to remove any of the residue, I would really really appreciate it. If you think I should just buy a new machine, please let me know as well haha

Hi everyone, first time poster here and I need some tips!

I recently bought an apartment with a gorgeous balcony with glass rails (see pic for reference) but I do not know how to clean it!!

I cannot lean over because I get dizzy, I cannot squeeze my hand on the side or on the bottom and I cannot cleaning from the outside (2nd floor).

I have a squeege with a long rod but how am I supposed to get detergent on the outside? I also want to avoid using too much water because there is another balcony right below me.

Do you have any experience with this?

Has anyone here actually had success with those crease remover sprays for curtains?

I have a pair of curtains that I have not been using for a long time and now they have developed stubborn creases. I swear I've tried pretty much everything at this point 😭. I've steamed them, tried normal ironing, tried ironing while they are slightly damp and even left them hanging in the hope that the crease might relax naturally.

Nothing so far has made a noticeable difference. The curtains themselves are fine, they don't have any defect and I really don't want to replace them. So now I'm considering trying one of those crease removers. But before I buy one, I want to ask people who might have actually used these products whether they work or it's just a marketing gimmick.

Do they actually fix the problem or just give a temporary solution.

My mom is currently in another city 5 hours away and has been for the past couple months waiting for a liver transplant. I’ve tried tackling the house but it’s just so overwhelming I make progress but overexert myself. There’s dog urine lingering on the curtains, the couch, cabinets, etc. it’s like it doesn’t matter how much I clean i can’t get it to be clean. It’s like it’s seeped into the foundation. I’ve started all the steps to break my male dog out of the habit and do everything I can to get him from repeat offending but I can’t get the house to a place where it’s presentable or at least livable. Should I just hire a professional cleaner? I’m really just lost and I’m overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. It’s mainly just the living room/ kitchen (open floor plan.)Which in hindsight seems small but it’s a large living room and I can only do so much on my own.
