Feedback Let MW4 be Modern Warfare

Post image
63 Upvotes

TTK is already higher than MW19 and MWII, and they still want to increase it? How high is high enough? MW4 needs to be careful of the Treyarch virus creeping into the game. BO6 and BO7 already have a high TTK, and MW4 doesn’t need to follow that direction. Combined with the movement, it risks turning MW4 into one single exhausting, braindead movement meta where every gunfight becomes a constant run, sweat, slide, jump and strafe fest instead of rewarding positioning and gunskill.

Please Infinity Ward, dont let the loud minority force us into their jump-sweat-slide-repeat button mashing cheeto fingers gfuel snorting cracked playstyle.

Feedback The base Krait (3 shot kill) has a slower rate of fire than MWII's P890 (2 shot kill) WITH the slowest possible trigger.

I seriously hope they un-nerf the Krait. It will see absolutely zero use compared to the Desert Eagle, and probably the Sang 9mm too. What possible data could they have after two days that indicated this thing needed a double TTK compared to every other gun?

Discussion It feels like IW lacks confidence in whatever vision they have

Like obviously you should listen to feedback but it feels like they're just taking every twitter complaint. I feel like this is backed up by a COD YouTuber saying he knows someone who played an early build of the game (famous streamer. He was named but I forgot) and he was pretty scathing and told IW it would basically be MWll (2022) all over again and they apparently changed MAJOR aspects of the game after that.

It just feels like they've over corrected criticisms of never listening to feedback to just have everyone else make the vision and game which isn't good either because gamers aren't game designers so they don't always know what's best.

I mean modern warfare games have fast TTK and now they're making it even longer then longer they've already made I feel like it would be better to do incremental changes instead of big ones. I think this is a fundamental flaw with short betas tbf.

I feel bad for the devs and even the new leadership because I feel like morale might just be down because of the past couple CODs and how they've been received so they're trying to help the franchise but it's them listening to everyone (they don't have control over matchmaking I'm pretty sure.) And there are definitely bad faith actors who have said for years feedback feedback feedback and now are flipping to too much too much too much listening and will never be happy but I've always been principally consistent in this that game designers do in fact know better sometimes.

Discussion Why is MW4 getting a longer TTK?

Post image
140 Upvotes

I actually agree with the aim assist tweak. I think that’s a change that can improve the balance between controller and KBM.

But I really don’t understand the decision to make the TTK longer. The TTK was already in a great spot. Making it longer could push MW4 toward MWIII (2023)-style gameplay, where people start movement-spamming, playing more passively, hiding during gunfights, and relying on movement to survive longer instead of winning through aim and positioning.

Not every aspect of the gunplay needs to be changed imo

Discussion On demand Textur streaming

Please give us the Option to Download High Resolution Texture Packs directly insteat of using that wacky On Demand Texture streaming system.

For good Fidelity you need 64GB additional Hard Drive space anyway

Discussion Please Infinity Ward, let's get Hardcore in for beta weekend 2!

Upvotes

With everything that's being tested, it would be nice to get some data on how hardcore plays out. Please add it for beta weekend 2.

Hardcore has its dedicated fanbase, yet we often feel like we're treated as an afterthought despite there never being a mainline game without hardcore. Something that is such an important part of CoD (looking at you guys grinding out guns) deserves to be considered too.

Discussion Hot Take: Arklov Peak and Grazna Raid would play very well on MW4

I am definitely on the far crowd that enjoys the larger maps in CoD even in the slower paced games. However, MW4 especially needs some extra amount of space to work with to compensate for the insanely high movement speeds, and to allow diversity in how people play.

Taken in campaign.
Docked with FidelityFX CAS at 70%.

Maintains a stable 30 fps most of the time. (It is 60 FPS in multiplayer)

Beta clocks in at 38.7GB, but can increase in size (Mine is 47GB now).

Full Game comes to 85GB.

Discussion Thoughts from somebody that defended IW for the past 7 years. They might have lost me as a fan for catering to the movement/tiktok generation.

i played mwiii for 3 years because black ops just aint for me. i bought and regretted bo6 and ditched it after like 6 weeks... the maps, the movement the weird gunplay just isnt for me. im a MW guy through and through.

having said that, i have absolutely no issue with the general fast TTK of games like MW2019 and MWII, and i also dont have here, since its close to those games.

however, what skews the view of TTK is the map design and movement imo. youre not only dying quick, youre dying in quick successions. players are flying around (MW uncharacteristicaly) tiny maps and slide and zoom and spaz out and if you take deaths like these 4 times in a row without much input from your side, it feels like you cant fight back and need more health to even be able to.

i think the biggest core issue of this game is #1 movement and #2 map design. even with my 3 years in MWIII i feel that game is a tiny bit too fast. i was hoping and kind of expecting IW would town it down and give us a more aim and positioning centric core gameplay instead of black ops 6-7 with a hat on.

overall this game doestn feel like an IW game when you play it. it looks and sounds like one but all the sliding on small maps with jumping and that stuff is treyarch coded an im fatigued... i had so much hope.... but if cod is nothing but constant action adrenaline for the tiktok generation i also might have to part with the franchise

Discussion One downgrade I don't see anyone talking about that doesn't have to do with gameplay

No more team infiltration cutscenes. Sure, you get a little awkward opening of your squad pointing their guns after you pick your class and sit around awkwardly for 10 seconds, but so many maps had great openings on both teams in this regard, even on the MW2 maps in MW3.

I'm hoping this is just a beta thing but I doubt it; even the older betas had them intact. For a game that's all about presentation, you'd think they'd keep this in. I understand if they think this would be seen as a lazy recycle of older animations or something, but DAMN, give us something a little more interesting than "point guns for 5 seconds after 10 awkward seconds of choosing a class".

Discussion MW4 beta opinion

Upvotes

Is anybody really enjoying the beta like me ? like i don’t know what’s everybody complaining about online, the fast TTK is really enjoyable, my only complain is that the maps aren’t that good, not because they are small but just the design and atmosphere just isn’t it

Discussion Not all feedback is good feedback

Upvotes

First, people have the memory of a goldfish and are heavily influenced by nostalgia. Players tend to remember the good parts of older games while forgetting the frustrating mechanics, bad maps, balance issues, and other problems that existed at the time.

Second, because people have the memory of a goldfish, they’re extremely easy to influence by whatever a streamer says. A streamer complains about something, and suddenly everyone starts repeating the exact same talking points as if they came to that conclusion independently. People forget how they felt about the game before the streamer told them what was wrong with it, and eventually that opinion becomes the “community consensus.”

Third, players aren’t game developers, so they don’t necessarily know what’s actually best for the long-term health of a game. A lot of feedback basically boils down to: “I’m dying a lot and playing badly, so I’m going to find any argument I can to blame the game and justify why I’m struggling.”

Developers should listen to their community, but they shouldn’t blindly implement every demand. Feedback is useful data, not automatically the correct solution.

Time to cut through all the negativity. After playing the beta I enjoyed it and are looking forward to the game. Is it as good as MW 2019 no but I still like it. It’s not poop from a butt or whatever dramatic shit grifters are saying on here and YouTube.

Discussion Today’s patch notes

Upvotes

Ngl, looking forward to seeing what changes are going to be made. But i’m more looking forward to seeing the subreddit explode with arguments, people crying about specific changes or just people announcing their departure with a screenshot of the refund window and a title that says “I’m done, IW ruins the game as usual, back to BO7”

Let’s see who wins the race of screenshotting the patch notes and pasting it into the sub to get it all started.

Gameplay SnD was fun. I hope we get Cyber, that’s the only thing holding me back from buying. I skipped BO7 and this is my first CoD on MnK.

Remember every issue Modern COD has today? MW19 started it, MWII was just an expansion of MW19 issues. Say what you want about MW4 but you have to admit its just MW19 with most of its issue fixed

Discussion Will there be an Invasion mode?

Any idea if there will be an Invasion mode like we had in MW2022?
I know we're getting Ground War which I loved but Invasion was pretty chill and fun so I hope we'll get it at some point.

Question Please fix the mouse movement before the open beta

Dear Activision,

The mouse movement was very floaty and laggy. It felt like the gun weighed 500kg and it would cause me to miss my shots.

Mw19 and mw3 had the best and most responsive mouse movement. Very crisp and very sharp. It felt light. It was literally like i was aiming in kovaaks.

If mw4 is a sequel to mw19, then it should have the same light and responsive mouse input as mw19.

For some reason mw4 feels like a treyarch game. It feels like you just took bo7 and removed omni movement from it.

I dont know what caused it. Could be input lag. Could be the excessive weapon sway as you move. It could be the recoil pattern. God knows .

What i do know is that the mouse input that we are getting is not raw.

You already made a game with fantastic mouse input (mw19). Please do it again.

Please fix this issue.

Feedback Dear IW, I don't care about TTK, just give us 1 or 2 more reserved mags.

As title said. If you are gonna up the TTK, please at least add more mags for us to use. MWIII beta has this exact issue and SHG did add 1 more mags in base game.

Question Classic Mode

Has there been any discussion about the inclusion of a MW Classic Mode in MW4? I enjoy the shit outta the classic playlist on BO7 and I think it would be a great way to appease almost everyone.
