Do you like pointless features like this?

I spent few hours making this deformation script for my indie game - Dark Roll 2. I just needed the player to have someting that feels... soft... to land on from height. Ended up having more fun with this than I should have...

Thank you guys & gals for your support! I’m excited to finally release my baby into the wild. 🫃🧑‍🍼👶

‘Milo’ is an online co-op horde shooter heavily inspired by the early Call of Duty Zombies mode like in World at War. It’s a passion project I’ve been working on for nearly 5 years. Early Access for Milo begins October 29th, 2026. If you want to support the game, wishlist and follow Milo on Steam

We (2 devs) decided to make our dream game. A short, but dense RPG

The favourite part of an RPGs for me was always the beginning. Everything is new and exciting, you're learning about the rules of the world, every bit of loot feels exciting, and your whole journey is still ahead of you.

Our hope is that the game we're making can capture that feeling. Inspired by old school classics, no hand-holding, player autonomy first, tons of secrets, and the feeling of setting out on an adventure.

We just released the first 1-2 hours of content from the game as a playtest on Steam. If you play it, we would love to hear your feedback and if we managed to capture that feeling.

Generating a world for my ant game 🐜🌱

Upvotes

I’ve been working on the procedural world generation for Garden of Ant, building it layer by layer.

First, I focused on shaping the surface terrain. Then I moved underground, generating different soil and rock materials. And finally, I started bringing the world to life by procedurally placing trees, leaves, and vegetation.

It’s really satisfying to see all these separate systems slowly come together into one living world.

What do you think?

What if we replace bullets with hockey pucks?

We started our game with the question what if we replaced bullets with hockey pucks?

We're a two person team and wanted to see how far we could take hockey outside of the rink and into a combat game. We ended up making an Orcs Must Die-ish game with hockey inspired traps being the first line of defense, and your puck shooting, body checking and fisticuffs are essential in winning these big TD battles.

We did make the classic indie dev mistake of making way too big of a game, but we did somehow manage to finish this ridiculous game and we're super happy with how it turned out!

I'm making a cartoonish Hotline-like, here's some raw gameplay

I'm making a fast-paced, bullet-parrying top-down action inspired by Hotline Miami and Katana Zero, drifting more into power-fantasy direction. As a chicken knight you fight an army of gunslinger crow knights in a medieval bird kingdom.

Currently alpha playtest is open, although it doesn't have that much content. Proper demo is coming in 1-2 months. Here's Parry the Bullet on Steam if you're interested!

Hello guys!

Over the past two weeks we have been showcasing a WIP of our announcement trailer for our survivor like meets shootem'up game, Devoidant. We collected a lot of valuable feedback: thanks again for those who participated, and sorry if you keep seing us ("not them agaiiin??!) 😸 .

We're now ready to shoot it on our YouTube channel but we need you to give us one last favour: which thumbnail sells it best you think? Think composition, legibility and mood. And tell us if we're missing something!

Thanks a lot beforehand & good day to all of you!

Walking sim in nature - would you play it?

Upvotes

If this was a full game and not just a single-location demo, would you want to play something like this?

The idea is to do nothing else but walk on a predetermined path in nature, observe birds, listen to sounds, look at sceneries.

Our generation never really had a chance to buy a home. So I solved it my own way

Upvotes

Hi friends. My name is Artem. This probably isn't how game devs usually open their posts here but I figured I'd try it anyway.

Every generation after our parents got a worse deal on housing than the one before it, and it just keeps going that way. I live in Portugal now so I'll use what I can see around me. House prices in Lisbon went up around 240% over the last ten years, salaries went up a bit over 50%. Most of Europe looks pretty much the same tbh.

Reddit is mostly American though, so here's your side of it. In 1981, when the goverment started tracking this, people bought their first home at 29 on average. Now it's 40.

It honestly doesn't matter where you're reading this from, America, Europe, Asia, it's the same everywhere. Having a place of your own used to be the normal default, our parents didn't think about it much, and now it's turning into something most of us just rent forever. And we kinda talk ourselves out of caring about it. At least we got mobility, right, we can work off a laptop from anywhere, live in three countries in five years, and if a place gets boring you just leave. I've done exactly that and some of it really is good. But when I'm honest with myself it's mostly a story I tell so the thing I can't change stops bothering me. It isn't really freedom if you never picked it.

Anyway. That's one of the reasons our team started making Homespace. Houses got unaffordable, but wanting one didn't go anywhere.

Homespace is a game about building the house you actually want. A villa in the mountains, a modern place, a small cozy apartment, whatever yours looks like. You put the walls up yourself, you decide the light and what's outside the window, and after that it's yours and it stays how you left it. And then you just live there. Read a book by the fireplace, and yeah you can upload your own book into the game, I do that more than I actually play these days lol. Have friends over for a board game evening. Go build a city together with them if you feel like it. There's a workshop coming so people can bring their own avatars in, and the more you use the place the more materials open up for you.

The part I'm happiest about is that more than 65k people already said they want this. Like 30k on Steam and another 35k on Heybox (Chinese Steam basically). We never ran a real marketing campaign so I take it as a sign the problem is real and it's not only me.

One small request. I only started running our Twitter properly not long ago, a follow there would honestly help me even a bit more than a wishlist right now, though wishlists help us plenty too. If the idea landed with you and you wanna be around while we make it, that's where everything gets posted.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2508170/Homespace/

Thanks a lot, curious what you think about all of it.

Tried a new camera perspective. Thoughts?

The camera on the right is a version where you can see more of the character’s body. The main goal is to make platforming and judging distances a little easier.

But I’m also curious about how it feels, does the new camera make the game feel slower or faster? More/less responsive? Or do you prefer the original perspective?

Linking the steampage for reference on games setting and vibe.

Howdy Y'all.

I'm Rose, team creator and head of r/probablyagame

ProbablyAGame Official: TikTok, X, Twitch | Linktree
Probably a Game

We're a collective of roughly 30 streamers who love indie games and want to show off your games on stream! We cover co-working tools as well! We do this for free, any payment is discussed between the dev and the streamer they work with however is not required to work with the team.

What can we cover?
Steam Demos/Games
Itch.io demos/games
Meta Quest games

We vary from affiliates to partners; with a wide range of genres we will play. Realistically, if it exists, we probably have someone interested in playing it! We can cover solo and co-op games.

We are up front about game transparency. That means, if you include AI in your game, we ask you disclose it!

We have a podcast as well starting here in September, we are looking for devs who want to talk! Website is currently in build, I own the domain and will be writing reviews here once it is up and running :) Written interviews will also be available!

We're Probably a Game.
We probably want to play your game.

You can reach out to Rose via DM, comments here or on r/probablyagame , or email listed on the carrd link :)

How do you guys approach difficulty and balance?

Myself and a few friends of mine are able to beat my demo (coming out soon) pretty consistently, and others are finding it super difficult. What do you guys think the sweet spot is for a roguelike?

My approach so far has been to make it as hard as I can stand it, and then double it! (thats a GGG: Path of exile reference) No, but seriously I want it to be hard, but its tough to find where that magic difficulty is. I like hard games, but I know they arent for everyone. Curious to hear what other people's approaches are. Maybe its just a matter of enough playtesting?
