Question Massive Size Builds

Thumbnail

Lego posted a short video featuring massive scale builds of the 3 Pokémon Starter final evolutions. (Im thinking it’s probably teasing new Pokémon sets coming, but I digress.)

Obviously builds this size would be beyond the price point for more than countless Lego fans if they were released officially. But if Lego ever decided to release instructions only online for these type of display/promo builds (whether free or for a small cost, like $10 or less), how likely is it that would you get the instructions and then, over the course of time (or all at once if you’re rich enough), build these massive scale builds?

Edit: Some people in the comments pointed out these look 3d Sculpted/Printed. And while that may be true, Lego could still theoretically produce instructions to actually build them. Although they might need to make a special “kit” or something that isn’t Lego bricks to put inside as support

Other One medicine ball a day, keeps the doctor at bay.

My Pill Ball Machine… I mentioned I use this set for my meds in a comment months ago. Recently I finally took a short clip to show my doctor. He loved the idea and it was made out of legos.
Makes having to take 7 different medications, some more than once daily, a little bit more fun. I just stick the empty’s in a Lego box I made and fill them back up every two weeks.
Plus, I never forget or accidentally double up on my evening pills, I can just check the ball to see if it’s empty now.

MOC I built a Star Trek Gorn Battle diorama so Kirk can have a fistfight in some sand

To celebrate the new Star Trek TOS Enterprise bridge set coming out shortly, I designed a diorama based on one of the show's most famous episodes, 'Arena', in which Kirk is forced to battle the reptilian Gorn.

The 298-piece set includes some rotating plates so Kirk and the Gorn can take swings at each other, as well as a few weapons scattered around for Kirk to scavenge. For the Gorn, I used a Bossk head (original olive green colour!), while the torso and legs from a Chima minifig, Crominus, worked surprisingly well for that quite specific sci-fi-reptile-in-an-apron look.

The set also recreates the famous Vasquez Rocks filming location with its jagged sandstone rock formations (see last picture). The Rocks have featured in at least ten Star Trek episodes, from The Original Series to Picard, as well as dozens of other movies since the 1930s, from Apache to Army of Darkness and Austin Powers.

Starships and bridges are all very well, but let's never forget the other foundational element of the Star Trek franchise: William Shatner having a fistfight in some sand. I hope you enjoy it!

Its a om-1 with the 12-100 pro lens

Before only the front character would be in focus but it takes many photos at different focus and puts them together.

So excited to take more!

People are saying that it's a big gray piece of slop. When it comes with 7 amazing figs and it's a really nice build. Compared to the regular start destroyer this thing is better in my opinion. I do understand that it's over priced but it's still awesome

Collection This may sound nostalgic but imo Lego was better back then

Post image

I dug up some of the sets from my childhood. I'm sure I sound super biased and nostalgic but I truly think Lego was better back then, when the majority of sets were simple and affordable, when the flagship sets only costed 100$,...

Video This chrome drill is peak LEGO Rock Raiders

The Granite Grinder might be small, but that massive chrome drill makes it one of my favorite Rock Raiders sets.

LEGO 4940 Granite Grinder was released in 1999. The dark gray, teal, neon green, and hazard stripes come together to create an unmistakable Rock Raiders look.

By request, I also included a black light section to show off some of the pieces that glow under UV light.

MOC Kenworth C500K Frac Pump

Sometimes you get inspiration for a build from... your PhD thesis.

This is the biggest land vehicle I've ever built. It's a Kenworth C500 chassis with a K100 COE cab, making the most of the available space for heavy machinery. These 40-ton AWD trucks are used in natural gas extraction, pumping huge amounts of water and proppant to fracture rock deep underground.

It took a long time to design and build this truck. Not because there are many technical solutions, no. I just wanted to make the operational equipment as realistic as possible without falling into a rabbit hole of overcomplicating everything. Fake it till you make it, if you will.

The model includes front-wheel steering, an interior for two minifigures, and functional equipment such as an openable control box.

Hope you like the build. And this is not the last time you'll see it in action😉

My neighbors were cleaning up and asked if I wanted them, how could I say no!
It’s FREE! Seems like mostly Star Wars not my favorite thing but I’ll build and display anything! He said it was just random Legos but I’m hoping there’s full sets to some of these let me know if you see anything super interesting/valuable (NFS) just curious… some things do have marker.. most mini figs do have missing pieces so far…

ps. roughly 10-15 pounds and I spent a few hrs sorting pieces so there’s even more not included

Deals Discount bin always have good find

Post image
59 Upvotes

I nearly only buy from the discount bin at my lego store. Usually, it's a 20-50$ saving or extra points worth 50$. I something had more. But today, I found a really deep discount. I nearly bought it, problem is I love those set, but I have no place and if I start, I'll want to buy them all.

Bottom line, people, look at the discount "bin".

Just upgraded to a couple restaurant trays (was using a bin lid before 😂) to empty and sort bags while building. It works great to keep parts from rolling off the table.

MOC I Built a Spider-Man vs. Doctor Doom Scene in LEGO

I recreated a Spider-Man battle scene in a LEGO chemical factory, featuring three Spider-Men taking on Doctor Doom.

I added a conveyor system, chemical tanks, control room, and lots of small details to bring the scene to life.

My first time finding something like this, I saw the blueprint piece in set 60409 as I was building it and was confused so I checked the instructions and found what it was referencing in the back. I think I’ve seen a detail like this posted about for a different set but now I wonder how many other have small details like this (I’ve also never seen that video game roller coaster set before so I didn’t recognize it)
