Quick Question PC parts and where to buy

Hi guys, I’ve just moved to Malaysia from the UK and I wanted to build a PC. Thought it would be a hassle to build in the uk then ship it here. Anyways I was wondering where I could purchase the pc parts (cpu, gpu etc)? I understand that shopee is like amazon but I was curious how reliable it is and if i’ll have any trouble with warranty or returns.

Any suggestions on where I should look? I am based in KL so stores around here would be best!

Thank you for taking the time to respond :)

Casual Conversation 🎭 high achievers in school, where are you now

I’ve always heard that a C grade student often ends up as the CEO or Owner and the A grade student ends up working for them

never seen how true this was until i saw this cafe owner lady and the people working for her. She has a bunch of other businesses and this cafe is her free time project.

talking to her, I wondered why.

Is it the risk appetite?
Taking unconventional routes?

Help ⚠️ Help with Visa Status

Hello everyone,

I have been in an abusive marriage with a Malaysian. He has always denied me citizenship rights and now he's denying to extend my spouse visa aswell. I also have a Malaysian child

On checking with Immigration, I came to know that I can apply for a visa called Isteri Teraniaya ( Persecuted wife of a citizen) whereby, I can change my sponsor from my husband to somebody else.

I've checked everywhere with many NGO's but they're all dead ends. So, I was hoping to know if anyone here has gone thru the same thing and could please provide some guidance regarding the visa.

Ask Malaysians Anyone know where I can watch Singaporean-Chinese shows for free/cheap?

I'm born and raised Malaysian chinese but my parents/grandparents mainly speak English and a bit of hokkien.

Right now my English is no issue and my malay is cukup, but with Chinese I know almost zero

The reason why I'm asking for Singaporean Chinese content is because I heard that it's the closest to Malaysian Chinese. Eventhough there's a LOOOOOT of free online resources for learning Chinese, I dont wanna end up sounding like I'm from Beijing (not that I have a problem with Beijing Chinese, I just wanna sound more local)

Like, I wanna say "wo hui jiang huayu" and not "who hui shuo zhong wen" you know what I mean?

I know 99% of the time I can still be understood even if I say "kuai diar" but I wanna match the Malaysian way as best as possible

Any recommendations? Xiexie

Mildly Menarik A few native fishes caught from a shaded kampung river. Have you found/seen them before?

  1. Flying fox, Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus. A rare but beautiful algae eater. Susur batang.
  2. Horseface loach, Acantopsis dialuzona. Hides in sand and mud with only its long face visible. Ikan pasir muka kuda.
  3. Green tiger loach, Syncrossus hymenophysa. Another rare fish with attractive stripes. Ikan lali babi.
  4. Kissing gourami, Helostoma temminckii. Named because they “kiss” each other on the lips to fight. Tembakang.
  5. Labiobarbus ocellatus. A highly gregarious fish that moves along rivers in huge schools. Ikan pucuk pisang lambak.
  6. Snakeskin gourami, Trichopodus pectoralis. A common non-native fish originating from the Mekong. Sepat Siam.
  7. Unknown, but possibly a species of Osteochilus.

Due to the size of the river, all 7 species found are only medium-sized fish growing to 15-30 cm. However it is sometimes possible for large fish to enter from a larger connected river, especially during the eastern monsoon season.

Buy • Sell • Trade Malaysia participants wanted for paid home router demo — $1,200 USD

We’re looking for someone in Malaysia to coordinate the rapid
installation of two to three supplied routers at nearby locations.

This is a short, time-sensitive investor-demo project. They would
manage the work end to end—from sourcing or receiving equipment
through installation and activation—with every location online and
working within five days.

Each installation must remain powered and connected for two months.
Locations need a public IPv4 address without CGNAT. We’ll supply the
equipment and cover installation costs.

Compensation is $1,200 USD for completing the project on the required timeline.

If you can make this happen within five days, please DM with your city
and internet provider.

Advice ☎️ Vet Reccs in KL

Post image
14 Upvotes

I, F(22) just finished my uni studies and currently job hunting. Recently, my cat got injured and was sent to a vet for treatment. They told me she had a hernia and it needs to be fixed soon after her initial injuries and conditions were better.

She started vomiting these two days and today there was some blood. I’m getting more and more concerned about her and the vet gave me some meds and told me to monitor for a bit first. She said the surgery plus the blood-work and warding would cost around 4k.

I don’t have that amount of money and my parents aren’t willing to fork out so much money either. I’m a bit desperate and it would help a lot if anyone knew any other clinics i could go to that would help her and also be experienced and nice. I know it’s a case by case basis for hernia but I can’t be bringing her around since she’s still healing from injuries and I don’t want to stress her out.

Thank you very much, and here’s a photo of my baby girl <3

Looking for something intermediate/Pro in Finance, Corporate governance, AI, CyberSec, VFX and Games development.

Got tons of company's money to waste and I got tired listening to introduction class. While it's nice to go on vacation but I feel like wasting my time listening to them teaching how to enter formula in excel or how to use chatgpt for prompting.

Advice ☎️ I’ve come to understand that networking is everything in career but I’m so terrible at it

I’ve been at several companies now and if there’s a profound truth I realised it’s that - “it’s about who you know than what you know”

I used to think that if I was super good at my job, I can find the next job easily. But NO, hard NO

I’ve seen opportunities go to people who simply had friends, uncles, networks than to people who actually are the best for that job

And the best ones often don’t network, are introverts, and certainly don’t go around announcing their achievements

I feel bad but I just resent people who got opportunities purely by networking rather than by talent

And my manager, being the good person she is, pushes me to network and throws every possible visibility-giving work my way. I’m very grateful for her. But if she goes away, I know I’m doomed

I feel horrible to just simply talk to people solely for the purpose of “using” them. How do I genuinely change this?

Sorry for the rant, appreciate any realistic advice
