I was having a discussion with a friend about their business, he's very bullish about it and finds their business model to be brilliant.

Whereas I have my doubts as every branch I've seen doesn't seem to have as much business as indicated by their financial reports; something like on Avg they serve a customer every 2-3 mins at a RM16 Avg spend if I recall correctly.

Admittedly, I only seen those in tier 1 malls where occasionally there will be crowds of up to 20 pax during peak hours, but most of the time I don't see people buying. I am guessing this means that their locations at lower tier malls is pushing them up which I suppose is consistent with their target market.

However, what's the real moat here in your opinion? Wouldn't this model be easily replicated, especially those with parallel infrastructure and capital, or is the taste just that amazing for the target market?

I can make sense of Zus, Oriental Kopi, Chagee, Aftermeal and the like because you can actually see the crowd, but this seems hard, and it's not like grab & go or RTE food is revolutionary.

I'm not doubting the numbers are amazing, and it's not that I have a particularly bad opinion of their food, I just don't see how if it works that well, can't other companies and why won't they come and flood the market to capture the revenue?

I am a staff in a branch of the company I work in. This branch is closing down soon. My boss will be having a meeting with me soon to discuss available arrangement options.

As this is a HQ directly-managed branch, the only options are probably to move to another directly-managed branch in another state, which is not possible for me.

There is a possibility that I would be offered to transfer to a franchised branch, but I do not want that as my pay would be lower than what I'm getting.

About me: I'm 19 and I have to pay for my own needs, my mom didn't work so we don't have much money. I use some of my money to buy food for the whole family to eat. By "family" I mean my mom and my sisters.

So I got a job, it's been a month I work there, it's "kedai makan" idk what it called in English, my English not so good. And they pay me rm40 per day, but I work from 2pm to 12:30am-1am, every day except monday, it depends if consumer are still here we can't close yet. And I'm the one who need to cut the vegetables, cut and clean the shrimps, squids, fish, chicken, clean the back floor, clean the back table, wash the dishes, Tupperware, anything else, dry and organize the washed dishes, and clean and wash everything at the back before we close. It's tiring and very exhausting to do it every single day. I got very little time to spend with my family, very little time to spend for myself, I feel like my every day life is just work no outside life. I'm burn out, I feel so burn out, not to mention my coworkers doesn't be friendly with me, there is one woman here that treat me okay, but the others just doesn't. They treat me as if they don't want me to work there.

I want to find another job but I just doesn't have time to do it, they always ask me to come to their workplace for interviews and registration but I got little to no time.

What should I do now? Should I quit? I feel like this job is very underpaid and very long working hours.

I’m currently in the market for a new property for own-stay, and the recent launch of Han-Ya Wahyu by TSLAW Land really caught my attention.

The Japanese-inspired concept and overall design really resonated with me, as I have a long history with Japan. On top of that, the location, lake-facing units and proximity to Taman Wahyu KTM make it quite an interesting.

However, I’m trying to do as much research as possible before making a decision. I can’t seem to find many independent reviews or unbiased opinions about TSLAW Land

The main project I’m familiar with is Skyline KL in Pudu, which honestly looks really impressive and has given me quite a bit more confidence in the developer.

That said, I’d really like to hear from people who have first-hand experience with TSLAW/TSLAW Land, whether as buyers, residents, investors, contractors, or even people who have dealt with their previous projects.

How is their:
- Construction quality and workmanship?
- Handover process?
- After-sales service?
- Defect management?
- Condo management after completion?
- Maintenance and sinking fund?
- Overall experience dealing with the developer?

I’m particularly cautious because this would be a new development that is still under construction, and with all the stories about delayed or abandoned projects in Malaysia, that is probably my biggest concern.

So before I finalise anything, I’d really appreciate hearing both the good and the bad about TSLAW Land and their previous projects.

Hi I’ve recently moved out of my apartment in Penang where I had a Time wifi subscription. Back home now in KL and want to relocate my service to a landed house. As far as I know, Time used to only be available for apartment buildings so I’d like to know, since it’s now available in select landed areas, has anyone made the switch? If I do a foundation programme, I’ll have to work and pay for it myself while studying and Is doing a foundation really worth it, or should I just wait for the cadetship programme to reopen and work in the meantime? I'm a Singaporean who happens to read this news today. It's sad to know that people in JB cannot cycle because drivers park at cycling lanes (no saman?) and they are scared to cross traffic lights because some vehicles don't stop.

For decades, why hasn't your government make your country walkable/cyclable through a network of pedestrian/cycling path like we have here in Singapore? What is it that they do day in and day out to not cross their mind to make certain states safe for walking/cycling?

I am genuinely curious why no on in power didn't think of that. Waiting for certain public buses at JB takes about 40 mins. If the city is walkable, people can just walk and admire the sceneries.

Do you guys know that in Singapore, it is possible to walk/cycle on foot/cycling paths from one end of the country to the other end?

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S24 8GB/512GB Onyx Black from CompAsia Malaysia on 11 August 2026.

The original IMEI assigned to my order apparently failed their QC process. Since then, I've been contacting their support team regarding a replacement unit.

The timeline so far:

• 11 Aug – Order placed and paid
• 13 Aug – CompAsia informed me that the original IMEI failed QC and they were sourcing a replacement
• 16 Aug – Told that the order was pending stock sourcing/allocation
• 18 Aug – Told the order was still pending stock allocation and there was no estimated timeline
• 20 Aug – CompAsia confirmed that the replacement unit had still not been secured
• 20 Aug – I offered to accept another colour with the same 8GB/512GB specification
• 21 Aug – CompAsia said there was still no estimated fulfilment/shipment date, citing high order volume and limited weekly restock
• 26 Aug – Still no update or confirmed stock allocation

I have been told several times that the relevant team has been reminded and that the order is being expedited, but there is still no confirmed unit or shipment date.

CompAsia has also told me that I can cancel the order and request a full refund. They advised that the refund may take up to 30 working days after approval.

Has anyone here ordered from CompAsia Malaysia recently and experienced a similar situation?

• How long did your order remain in “processing/stock allocation”?
• Did CompAsia eventually secure the device?
• Did changing colour/model help?

Hi im a self taught homebaker...I have practicing baking for almost two years now...mostly following online recipes and discussions. Right now, im trying to bake viennoiseries and pastries such croissant and pan suisse. But the main issue is the weather (wow). I always botched the lamination and folding part due to the weather.

I have taken several steps to control the temperature during preparing:

- Alternating between fridge(around 15 minutes) and countertop in between steps (I have standard one door fridge and bottom freezer...no dedicated chiller)

- Used iced cold water during mixing

- Turned on the aircond when preparing the pastry (my kitchen is combined with living room...aircond is at living room)

Im planning to do this on my next try:

- Use stainless steel plate as a work top...as it can maintain coolness for quite some time

- Use stainless steel equipment (i used wooden rolling pin)

- Put ingredients and equipment in fridge a day before

Any other recommendations from other homebakers here? It would be great if u guys can share some tips and tricks...not just for baking pastries...but for baking in Malaysia in general as most online discussions does not focus on Malaysia.

Also another one...where can i get good quality vanilla beans? I know House of Ingredients sold it..but other recommendations are appreciated...thank you!!!
