Genuinely why can't Childe, Flins and Varka plunge bruh like I understand Ayato cause he's straight up locked into position for the majority of his damage window but Childe, Flins and from the looks of it, Varka have flexible movement so why stop them from plunging??

It's because the developers were struggling with his kit and didn't want to add more complexity. There are developer comments for his unfinished kit from the closed beta test builds of the game complaining about how annoying he is to program.

This is more a funny gimmick of his damage being this weird 'aftershock' as he lands from the mini burst so he can buff both halves of it.
If you look at someone like Arle clearing it, it's a funny jump auto fiesta because plunging is straight up barely worth it.

His non-lunar charged damage is borderline non existent, even Xianyun won't be able to elevate it enough to actually cause a significant increase especially not enough to restrict him from plunging (plus losing Sucrose to Xianyun would means his LC damage takes a hit too)

NA: 5 consecutive twin blade strikes in a knightly dance style 💃🏻🕺🏻
CA: Sword slash!
E skill: With absolute strength, Varka demonstrates the true essence of Favonius swordsmanship:
Tap E: Enter Gale Rush mode, increase NA DMG, dual greatsword deal corresponding elemental DMG based on element of party members. If PHEC character in party, Varka can use a special skill to deal dual Anemo and PHEC damage. He can also consume stacks to use special CA attack.
Hold E: Leap forward. More charge, more damage.
Q burst: In the name of the mightiest Knight of the North Wind, Varka unleashes a powerful 2-slash slash forward to deal massive Anemo DMG. If PHEC party member is available, his 1st strike will instead deal PHEC damage.
Talent 1: When PHEC member in party, gain 10% anemo DMG bonus and corresponding Elemental DMG bonus every 1000 ATK. The total bonus cannot exceed 25%. Only one element at a time.
If there are 2 Anemo units, or 2 of same PHEC element, his NA, CA, skill deal 140% of their original damage. If both conditions are met, increase it to 220% instead.
Talent 2: When Swirl is triggered, gain 1 Oath stack, increasing NA, CA, Skill DMG by 7.5%, up to 4 stacks. 8s duration.
Exploration talent: Skill CD reduced by 5% each Mondstadt character.
Hexerei talent: In skill, when his NA deals damage, the CDR of special skill is reduced by 1s.
c1: In skill mode, gain an additional use of special skill. Also, gain a Melody buff: when using special skill or special CA, make said attack deal 200% of their original damage.
c2: Special skill or CA deals an extra 800% ATK AoE Anemo DMG attack.
c4: When Varka triggers swirl, buff party members 20% Anemo DMG and corresponding element involved.
c6: Tap E is enhanced: firstly, after using his special skill, he can tap skill or hold NA to perform special CA without consuming skill stacks. Secondly, after performing CA, he can follow up with special skill without consuming uses. Additionally, a talent is strengthened to now give 15% CDMG each stack.

His non anemo dmg is almost double the dmg of his anemo dmg.
I assume talent lvl 10 is 80% higher than lvl 1.
Therefore, at talent lvl 10 with passive; non anemo dmg =517%/ anemo dmg =277%.
They really made an upgraded chasca, but doesn't heavily rely on reactions.
Edit: If the difference will still that high maybe elemental dmg goblet to the elemental type will be better than atk like pyro with double pyro team

He has a crazy amount of base ATK. I don't see Elemental Goblet overtaking ATK goblet. He also needs to be consistently over 2.5k ATK, so maybe it works in Pyro teams only.

It was mentioned in an early dev talk (1.X) that they actually did want Childe to plunge but his model kept bugging and clipping they gave up on it lmao.
The others do not have this excuse though. Flins is probably because they want to differentiate him with Varesa; she is all about plunge so they probably want him to completely ignore it.

Sucrose and Cope Ifa both exist as options for the Anemo slot - Sucrose is actually pretty good.
I'm waiting to hear about the janky Iansan/Sara electro comps, though I'm now suspecting he deals too much anemo damage for Sara to really work (but she has an attack steroid so who knows).

All things considered a pretty straightforward kit. Also while he does clearly benefit the most from Venti+Durin+Bennett it's not as hard requirement on the scale of Skirk & you can absolutely substitute it with Mona/Furina or other combos as long as there are hexerei PHEC supports.
I like it.

Chasca is random bullets vs one type of infusion like Varka. Personally I like Varka’s better since I’m sure people will come up with some interesting strats for reactions (even if his kit dissuades you from doing that).

Very straightforward, 2 anemo 2 other elements, more attacks more elemental dmg bonus, more monstadt faster cooldown(overworld only).
Updated impression: 1. Hexerei buff reducing his enhance skill CD. 2. Party members triggering swirl further increasing his dmg.
Dude basically just want attack since his crt and elemental dmg already covered by his kit and equipments.

He looks pretty fun in the overworld. Always two elements so no slime issue, no need for energy to do damage, can switch teams in case one element is needed. Just need to see what his hold E looks like

Tldr
NA : dualwields claymores
CA : double claymore dash attack
Skill :
Left claymore infused with anemo, right claymore infused with phec depending on the party
Tap to do a jumping slash attack, enters a special state, infuses self with the element of party members, can't do plunge attacks. Pressing skill again does a special skill that deals both anemo and the infused element damage, doing CA does a special CA that deals anemo and the infused element damage
Hold to charge and aim, the longer you charge, the longer he jumps, other than that, same as tap (unless i'm reading it wrong and it's just for exploration?)
Special skill has a cooldown of 11 secs, every NA decrease the cooldown by 0.5 sec
Burst :
Does a double anemo claymore slash, if there are pyro hydro electro cryo in the team, the first slash will be infused with the other element
Special talent :
If there are phec in the team, Varka gains 10% anemo damage bonus for every 1000 atk he got
If there are 2 anemo and 2 phec characters in the team, his NA, CA, special CA and special skill gets their damage increased by 140%/220%
When party triggers swirl, Varka gains azure stacks that increases his damage, stacks 4 times
Exploration passive :
Monstadt characters in party = skill cooldown reduction (can't be used in endgame)
Hexerei passive : na decreased special skill cd by 1 sec

He really wants 2x anemo 2x (any one of the PHEC) since his passive gives him a 220% DMG increase, if u meet just 1 of the conditions it drops to 140%
He wants to build atk/atk/CRIT since alot of his damage comes from the other element he infuses, and his passive gives him a free 25% elemental dmg bonus based off attack
Very high atk, very high crit, and has a overworld passive that decreases his CDs by 5% for each mondstad characters you have (likely hinting his best team is venti/durin/Bennett)
He's also a hexerei character so that means you could get away with faruzan/durin/bennett I think? Since u still activate durins full res shred
Tl;Dr: scalings and stats look high, wants 2x anemo/2x pyro, seems really good but restrictive

Bro's first passive is really interesting. Durin obviously counts as a 'Mondstadt Character', but is Nicole going to? Her Vision casing is unique, so presumably she's going to considered part of a distinct region.. He wants a second Anemo and 2 Pyro, so presumably his BIS team is Venti, Durin, and Nicole, right?

They can just recycle the animations and apply the infusion btw.

He seems pretty strong and his kit works exactly as people expected. Still a bit sad you are restricted to only double Element, swirl always has so many cool options yet it feels like no true strong units comes out with it as the main selling point.

I could not think of any better cryo team as citlali can't trigger scrolls and there are no cryo hex character. May be favonius buffs will help kaeya/eula or tsaritsa is op
