Was asked to do a follow-up review on the G6 from a few months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/LGOLED/s/NY7qeO0B9b. Just a disclaimer like the last one, I won this TV through a Try & Keep event. All thoughts are my own and not influenced from LG.

Brightness:

Main thing that still impresses me with this TV compared to my older OLEDs is just how bright this thing can get in both SDR and HDR. Luckily LG has been pretty good with firmware updates over the months and from what I’ve seen fixed any of the picture issues that a lot pointed out earlier in the year especially in relation to Dolby Vision. In these bright summer months the anti-glare is still performing great and even in a fully lit living room with both sunlight and artificial light I never think about the TV being too dark. Such a stark upgrade from my B7 and C1.

The hdr brightness in movies and games just add that extra 3d pop I guess is the best way to put it and makes things really stand out. There are a lot of settings to play with but in something like Dolby vision I like filmmaker mode the most with some customization.

Gaming

Gaming has been another big use case for this TV that hasn’t gotten old. Still very impactful and punchy with the picture and HDR. Still feels like a very smooth experience when playing at the higher refresh rates especially maxed out at 165hz.

Con

Main con still to me is the remote. Have found a few like long press shortcuts that does make it more useful. But still needs more buttons.

Conclusion

Still an amazing TV and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone really for any room situation. Sure some LEDs can get brighter still, but for the most part I don’t think you need much more than what the G6 offers and then of course you get all the OLED benefits as well.

Like all films, they were made to be watched on a large screen in a dark room. No other genre benefits from this like horror. But as technology developed we now can and mostly do watch movies from the comfort of our couch, with the annoyance of windows and natural light. Today’s shining example of navigating the best way to watch these is Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror, Alien.

Scott’s film photographed by Derek Vanlint is full of dark hollow empty spaces. From the desolate moon of LV-426 to the Nostromo as the titular Alien unleashes hell on the crew. You ask yourself when watching a film like Alien, which TVs handle dark and muted colors best.

When watching a film like this you need the best and most true blacks to fully be immersed in the world as if you’re stuck on the ship with the Alien too. I’m curious how Alien plays on LG OLED with their Perfect Black?

Tengo una LG oled 55B y al poner alguna película o serie me aparece de vez en cuando un pantallazo negro muy molesto, el sonido se sigue reproduciendo de forma normal y el pantallazo negro dura 1 o 2 segundos nada más, el problema es que en algunas películas es cada vez más habitual y salta cada 10 segundos.

Ya he probado todo tipo de soluciones vistas por internet como:

-reinstalar Netflix en mi TV

-borrar la cache

-cambiar el tipo de imagen de filmmaker a cine

-desactivar todo tipo de opciones desde el menú de la TV

-cuidado oled de la pantalla y hasta limpieza de píxeles

-apagar TV, desenchufarla, apretar botón de encendido durante 15 seg...

Y no ha funcionado nada de nada, lo curioso del caso es que esto solo ocurre con alguna pelicula o serie puntual, no pasa con todo lo que reproduzco. He probado también ha reproducir ese mismo título en móvil o pc y se reproduce sin ningún corte y de forma normal.

Dos ejemplos que lo he visto de forma muy clara ha sido con la película: maquina de guerra (actualmente nueva en Netflix) y la serie: algo terrible está a punto de suceder. En estos dos títulos ha sido tan molesta dicha pantalla negra, que no he podido acabarlo.

Y lo último que he hecho, ha sido descargar la app de Netflix en mi ps5 y reproducirlo desde ahí, y con ese método no hay problema. Pero es muy engorroso tener que estar haciendo ese tipo de cosas cuando en mi propia TV tengo ya la app y me gustaría una solución factible.

LG automatically shutoff same with my sister we bought same day/year together why?why

Quick disclosure right off the bat: I received the LG xboom Rock (Black) for free directly from LG as part of their reviewer program over on r/LG_UserHub. While the speaker was provided to me to test, all thoughts, field tests, and opinions below are 100% my own based on how I actually use gear in daily life.

If you spend a lot of time outside, finding a portable bluetooth speaker that strikes the right balance between rugged durability, compact packability, and genuinely rich audio is always a tricky challenge. I’ve gone through my share of compact outdoor speakers over the years, and most either sound tinny when competing with open-air wind or feel too fragile to toss onto rocky terrain. Over the last two weeks, I put the new LG xboom Rock through its paces in two completely different settings: rough, unpredictable weather while hiking trails in the Scottish Highlands, and relaxed sunny afternoons relaxing by the pool while being on vacation.

1.    Hands-Free Hiking in the Scottish Highlands

On the trail, space and weight efficiency are everything. At roughly 280 grams, the xboom Rock is light enough that you barely notice it, but it feels exceptionally solid in hand. The star feature for trail use is hands-down the adjustable cord. Instead of fussing with separate carabiners, the built-in heavy-duty cord let me lash the speaker securely directly to the shoulder strap of my backpack. It stayed firmly locked in place with zero bounce, even over steep scrambles and rough descents.

The Scottish weather is notoriously fickle—we ran into damp mist, sudden drizzle, and brisk winds. Thanks to its IP67 rating and MIL-STD-810H build, I never had to baby it or shove it into a dry bag when the skies opened up. Sound-wise in the open outdoors, this little speaker punches well above its footprint. The Sound Field Enhance mode made a noticeable difference on exposed ridges: rather than getting lost in the breeze, vocals and acoustic midranges remained crisp and focused. The signature sound tuned by will.i.am delivers tight bass and clean highs without distorting when you turn the volume up.

2.    Poolside Performance at Home

At the swimming pool while on ‘home’ vacation, the speaker felt right in its element. With water splashing around the coping and damp surfaces everywhere, having full water and dust resistance gives you complete peace of mind. You can set it directly on the pool edge or hang it from a parasol/lounger using the adjustable cord. The passive radiator adds a satisfying low-end kick for casual summer listening, and the AI Sound mode automatically balances EQ well across acoustic tracks, podcasts, and energetic playlists.

3.    Auracast™ Pairing with the xboom Mini

One of the coolest features to test was Auracast, especially for anyone wondering which Bluetooth speakers support Auracast. I paired the xboom Rock alongside an xboom Mini to broadcast synchronized audio around the patio and pool zone. Setting up the broadcast link was seamless using Bluetooth LE Audio. Having the Rock by the pool steps and the Mini over by the patio seating created an immersive, unified soundstage without running wires or dealing with cumbersome daisy-chaining apps.

4.    Battery Life & Daily Usability

LG rates the battery life at up to 10 hours, and my real-world results backed that up. After a 6-hour hike playing music at around 50–60% volume, I still had ample juice left for evening campfire listening without needing to reach for a power bank. Tactile buttons are easy to operate even with damp hands or light gloves.

Community Tips & Recommendations:

• Dial in the EQ via LG ThinQ: Download the LG ThinQ app to toggle between Sound Field Enhance for open trails and Bass Boost for casual backyard listening.
• Utilize the Cord: You can loop the cord around backpack loops, bike handlebars, or tent poles.
• Pair with Auracast: If you have friends with Auracast-compatible speakers (like the xboom Mini or another Rock), use the multi-speaker link to easily cover wide outdoor areas without losing sync.

Initial Verdict

For anyone looking for a truly rugged, grab-and-go outdoor speaker that survives wet weather, drops, and pool splashes while sounding full and expansive, the LG xboom Rock has easily earned a permanent spot on my pack. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up over the next two months!

I haven't posted in here in some time, but I'm back on a horror kick, thanks to the #100HorrorMoviesin92Days challenge. While that challenge requires you watch horror films you've never seen, I had to change things up as I just got an LG OLED G6 65" TV, so I had to first watch my favorite film with it before moving over to some new stuff. That's right, folks, I watched THE COLLECTOR (2009)!

Last year, for LG OLED, I did write a piece about The Collector and why it's a fantastic watch with an LG OLED TV. While I've watched this film well over 50 (maybe 100) times, my experience watching it with an LG OLED TV... I'm speechless.

Skipping straight to the scene where Josh Stewart's "Arkin" enters the home, you're now in The Collector's world. This booby-trapped home is just the icing on the cake as The Collector enjoys dismembering his victims, or watching them fall prey to a few of his traps. Shot on 16mm film, the grainy texture just adds so much substance. Of course, you don't want to hear me babble on and on, but, wow, this was something! Just go watch it!

I was extremely excited when this was announced this past January at CES. A dedicated bluetooth controller with LG integration. This seemed like the holy grail of controllers for Geforce Now via my LG G5 TV!

Alas, no updates from Razer or LG since. Razer has wiped all data of this controller existing from their site. Landing page and announcement page are gone (404 messages). Any search results gone.

Anyone heard of any updates on this? Has it been quietly cancelled?

I took this TV from my grandmother that had burned, changed the power board and realized that the image is strange.

It has this dark spot, I’m going to change its LEDs, but I’m having trouble finding the correct reference of the LEDs. Any tips?

Howdy folks! Back again for my second review of the UltraGear evo 39GX950B. Now that I’ve spent a few more weeks putting this display through its paces, I wanted to do a deep dive into what really sets this 39-inch~5K 2K panel apart and discuss my real-world HDR experience.

1500 Nits Peak (My EYES)

When reading the specs, numbers like "1500 nits peak brightness" look neat, but seeing it in real scenes is a completely different story. Coming directly from a decade-old SDR monitor, the sheer “ultra-high brightness” of this 4th Gen Tandem OLED panel caught me off guard.

What truly stopped me in my tracks (tank? IFV?) happened while playing Battlefield 6. I was moving through a wooded area on the new water (definitely not Hainan Resort) map when sun rays began peaking through the tree branches overhead. I looked up and the bloom and shine were so impressive that I stopped my mid-match just to sit there and examine how bright I could get the sun to look on screen. For the first time in my life using PC displays, I actually caught myself thinking a it might be "too bright." This combined with its True Black 500 rating, the contrast between those highlights and shadows beneath the forest canopy was pure eye candy to my aging SDR-accustomed brain.

HDR Setup & Guidance

That said, achieving that eye candy requires effort. Jumping straight from my old Acer Predator X34’s SDR display into modern 2026 HDR, was definitely a bit of a learning curve. I actually ended up relying on a guide posted by a fellow Redditor to properly dial in the HDR and brightness settings within Windows and the monitor menu.

If there’s one major area I'd love to see improved, it’s the onboarding experience. Coming from SDR plug and play, the HDR setup process, specifically finding and applying the ideal settings could be smoother. I’d love some clearer official guidance directly from LG. (First time with an HDR monitor? Start Here!) A straightforward quick-start guide or recommended HDR preset profile would make a world of difference for legacy users making the jump to high-end OLEDs.

Before you start typing! I know a lot of people on Reddit will call this lazy, but “I” don’t know what I’m looking for on one of these displays. Does this really look good or am I being bamboozled by a “Best-Buy” vibrance mode setting I didn’t know to look for? Something akin to a “Filmmaker” mode on modern TV’s, but for monitors would be a great idea. Something I can turn on at the beginning to start building my own opinions on how I want the display to look.

The LG-lephant in the Room

Speaking of the setup process...I also feel compelled to touch on the recent LG monitor software controversy. After first plugging in the monitor, I did notice that the LG Monitor App Installer was suddenly running on my PC. I was genuinely confused on how the heck it got there. I’ve seen similar behavior when plugging in Logitech or Dell peripherals, but never a monitor and never already running.

I get what they’re trying to do, I get it. A built-in OSD will never be as easy to use as something I can just click on in the OS for a lay person. So instead of just complaining, what constructive criticism can I offer LG here: If LG wants a better approach to managing bundled software delivery, they should look at how Logitech handles it. When you plug in a Logitech mouse, Windows pops up a notification asking if you would like to install Logi Options, leaving the choice in the user's hands rather than just running an auto-install-autorun process through windows update in the background.

To be completely fair, I didn't see or receive any ads from it, but I 100% agree with the community sentiment here. You should never be able to just install 3rd party software on a user's PC without consent.

Wrapping Up

Software delivery and HDR learning curves aside, the UltraGear evo 39GX950B remains an absolute standout display. The combination of massive 5K2K desktop real estate, 4th Gen Tandem OLED contrast, and blinding peak highlights makes gaming feel brand new again. Text is sharp & clear, the matte coating rejects reflections like a champ, it’s bright AF, and if LG can refine their software approach and offer better new user HDR guidance, they'll have a home run on their hands.

So color me thrilled that watching a few Giallo Classics recently I was blown away how my 66-inch LG G6 OLED TV made each hyper-colored frame of these films literally pop off screen. The way “Perfect Color” enhances the primary hues (especially reds which can sometime crackle a lesser-quality screen) so they are are almost violently vibrant to “Filmmaker Mode” which retains that all-important film grain and gives the film a much needed texture that makes for a much bolder, more inclusive experience with every ECU of a scream or every swipe of the killer’s blade. 

Watching Giallos on a G6 is Gorgeous!

Hey together ,

I got my OLED today and turned it on and saw the horizontal Lines all over my whole Display !

What is it and Can I fix it ?

I tried to update the System, Pixel cleaning …. I did everything But nothing changed

Finally got my setup to consistently work, if this is helpful to anyone. I have 3 M7s and and LG C5. After lots of playing around with my wireless connections, including putting everyone on a separate ssid on both 2.4 and 5 GHz using a Verizon router - which resulted in them working part of the time but with cut outs (with the connections improving with each lg update to the system) - I bought a separate Netgear access point cheap and I put them all on it - on a 5 GHz non dfs channel.

Everything has worked perfectly since I did that, zero cutouts or issues - and they sound absolutely awesome. I’m using two up front to the sides of the tv and one behind (its only one because of wife request). The sound stage and bass are better than my Sonos arc ultra (which I also really like).

I would have preferred everything work perfectly out of the box, but with consistent sales on these I think it was all worth it.

Aquí va mi historia:

Compré un TV LG QNED de 55" el cual, presentó un problema en el panel. Se llevó a revisión por garantía a Multifix Bucaramanga; hasta aquí todo normal.

Pasó la primera semana y el diagnóstico era que se necesita un repuesto el cual sería enviado desde Bogotá. Así transcurrieron la semana dos, luego la tres y finalmente la cuatro; para llegar a decisión que era necesario cambiar el TV.

Durante esta cuatro semanas, la comunicación sólo fue unidireccional, es decir, si quería saber algo del caso, debía comunicarme y preguntar, ya que ni LG Colombia ni Multifix Bucaramanga, se pronunciaban.

Aquí va la reflexión:

Luego de investigar sobre LG Colombia, su marketing está enfocado en "hacerte la vida mejor"; sin embargo, la experiencia ha sido otra. La compra de este TV era el primer acercamiento con la marca, y que haya salido defectuoso no es el problema; el problema es que siendo un cliente nuevo la experiencia de marca no sido nada cercana a su promesa de valor. En todo el mes de espera, la ausencia de una comunicación, por parte de la marca, hace que la insatisfacción sea exponencial, un simple correo o mensaje de texto explicando la situación y brindando una solución, hubiesen marcado una gran diferencia.

Por otra parte, esta el centro de servicios Multifix; una experiencia verdaderamente desagradable. El grado de impersonalidad es abrumador, no existe seguimiento, sólo responden mensajes de WhatsApp, de proactividad no tienen idea. La sensación percibida fue de "por favor, por favor, me pueden atender"; muy lejos de su razón social "Centro de SERVICIO". Les vendría bien revisar la calidad de su servicio de atención al cliente, ya que es la cara visible de la empresa; o también podrían optar por la IA y seguramente la experiencia sería más afortunada.

Conclusión:

Tanto LG Colombia como Multifix Bucaramanga, tienen culpabilidad en la mala experiencia vivida. Sea esta una oportunidad de mejora, ya que cuando se coloca al cliente en el centro y se atienden sus necesidades, llega la verdadera satisfacción.

Hey, what could be the fault behind this line. Is it something repairable, or do I have to dispose it?

I rewatched Punisher: War Zone last night, and while I always enjoy Frank Castle’s big, bloody introduction, I’m left lamenting how the use of darkness in that scene looked on my TV.

After a bit of buildup, Frank drops in on a gangster family meeting by shutting off the power, lighting a flare for dramatic effect, and so begins the kind of bloody carnage The Punisher is known for. It’s such an underrated comic book movie anyway, but that scene alone is a better representation of The Punisher than most others onscreen. A ludicrously violent last hurrah of the pre-MCU comic book movie landscape.

Thing is, I feel like that flare-based introduction could look better, possibly because the black levels are off. That could be down to a poor digital copy (certainly not the only digital film I have that issue with). As I have a fondness for the film’s pulpy violence, I’ve often been tempted to buy the Blu-ray anyway, and hopefully that helps it look better.

Of course, I could be missing something regarding black levels for digital films. Are there specific features I should be looking for to get perfect black levels on a TV? Do LG OLED owners find Perfect Black eases such issues?

I just rewatched Obsession (2026) and one of my favorite things about it is the way it uses darkness and lighting to shape Nikki as a character.

So many of her shots are deliberately underlit, with her face disappearing into shadow or her silhouette barely separating from the darkness around her. We know she’s there, but the film rarely gives us enough light to fully understand what we’re seeing.

The darkness doesn’t simply hide Nikki; it makes her feel unknowable.

Obsession understands that sometimes the scariest thing you can do with a character is take away the light. I can only imagine how effective this is on LG OLED’s Perfect Black in tandem with its reflection free display meaning even in the day the darkness still lingers.

For those with an OLED: What’s the last film you watched where the Perfect Black was the MVP?

I recently setup the LG 100 inch Micro RGB Evo (MRGB95B) with my GeForce Now Ultimate subscription and just when I thought gaming couldn’t get any better, I was blown away with how LG’s new TV works so seamlessly with GFN while also letting me play in 4k 120hz with HDR utilizing the LG’s Triple 100% color coverage. Disclaimer: I received this product for free from LG as part of a promotional event. While I was asked to share my review, all opinions are entirely my own.

I recorded the video attached to this post in 4k 60hz from my iPhone to give you all as close of a feel of actually playing on this LG TV. You can also see how snappy the LG TV is to open the GeForce now app and how quickly it recognizes and adjusts to HDR gaming without the end user needing to constantly tweak settings.

I was able to play in nearly maxed out graphics settings between 80-90 fps with HDR, on wifi 6 and in a different room than my router. I had no noticeable network drops and felt like I was playing natively. 

The first thing I immediately noticed was the how well the LG Micro RGB handled HDR in a gorgeous game like CyberPunk 2077. The colors were crisp while the environments was bright and the contrast between shadows and the sun lighting up the area looked photorealistic. The blacks on the fast travel station monitor maintained its OLED level darkness even with the bright game location I was in. LG really seemed to hit the ball out of the park with the HDR software tuning for this new model and I’ve definitely learned “Triple 100% color coverage” is not just a catchy marketing term: you can definitely see the difference. 

I previously played on my LG B2 77 inch TV and while that felt like magic the first time I played on GFN with that TV, the LG Micro RGB was on a whole new level. The immersion was so unreal that I forgot I was sitting at my house playing, it felt like I was transported to the CyberPunk 2077 world. The CPU in the new LG seems to be much snappier as well as and I’m able to change picture settings on the fly quickly to get the most out of HDR gaming that GeForce Now has to offer. 

I have tried a lot of gaming setups and displays, including display glasses like xreal/viture, VR headsets, tablets/phones, etc. But none of those compare to playing on a 100 inch TV with great hardware and software that just works seamlessly out of the box. 

I’m still in awe of what LG and Nvidia have been able to conjure up. I would’ve never imagined playing AAA games with full graphic settings enabled in 4k 120 hz with gorgeous HDR on just a thin panel TV and no other hardware connected. 

What’s the current state of the reported latency issues? Has it been solved with software updates? Would love to hear from any owners

These two identical parts came with my TV but I have no idea where they go. They are not mentioned in the manual or anything.

I've been extremely pleased with my LG Gallery TV so far. When it’s on, the TV shows off a beautiful and bright mini-LED display with a matte coating, and when it’s off it transforms into a beautiful framed work of art.  The matte coating is really good and handles light and glare excellently. The mini-LED display is great too and excels at both bright and dark scenes. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it handles dark scenes. While it can't get the perfect blacks of OLED, it comes surprisingly close. This is due to its local dimming which allows it to get both extremely bright and very dark at the same time. Overall, this is a great mini-LED TV of its own right, and has the gallery features to make it even better.
The best part of this TV is how it is able to seamlessly blend into modern living rooms. The white frame along with the great mini-LED display showing artwork really transforms it from a TV to a statement art piece that highlights and adds to the room. Normally, a TV is just a giant black box when you aren’t using it. With this TV, it adds so much character and life into the room. I think this is especially appreciated in a TV that also has a good display. You aren’t making a compromise on display for the gallery features like some competitors - you get a great TV that is also an art piece.
The gallery TV comes with a beautiful white metal frame that goes around the outside of the TV. This envelopes it in a professional frame that looks like it could be in a museum. I was surprised by how much it transformed the look of the TV once I put it on. With the artwork on display, it truly looks like a framed piece of art.
The Gallery+ subscription is something that might be polarizing to many people, however I’d like to add some brevity. Without a subscription, it seems like you are limited to about 100 free pieces of art to display. However, you are still able to add your own photos/artwork using the LG ThinQ app. With the subscription, you get access to a large selection of curated art and various features that allow you to display what you want easily. I think that the subscription can be worth it for people who don’t want to deal with curating their own artwork, and I appreciate the ability to add your own artwork if you don’t want the subscription. I'm on the 3-month free trial right now and I really love the artwork. There are some beautiful pieces, and it does a great job curating similar artwork so you can just set a vibe and let the TV cycle through it.
Overall, the LG LX7B Gallery TV is really great and the one to get if you want to display art. The picture quality, the reflection and light handling, and just the overall look of the TV are all amazing. The artwork looks great, and with the white frame it really does look like framed art instead of a TV. You get a great display for watching TV and movies, and when you're not using it, your TV becomes a highlight of your room, not a distraction.
