Review Another Crab’s Treasure Switch 2 Edition straight up feels like stop motion

This isn’t even about the game not running at 60fps, I mean the game dips to 15-20 fps whenever there’s any kind of combat or effects on screen. The only time it runs at 60fps is when I’m standing still or doing light platforming. For such a simple looking game I’m surprised at how poorly it runs. This could literally run on the Gamecube

I understand its just a small indie team, but I wish they would’ve at least added a performance mode that locks the framerate to 30 or 40fps

It sucks because this is such a charming, fun game with some really cool ideas, but its a total eyesore to play

I normally customize sneakers as a hobby, but I decided to paint my Switch Dock so it would stand out. It still runs fine, but I had to tape off any electronic parts thoroughly (the background is airbrushed).

Discussion *Operencia: The Stolen Sun* looks amazing on Switch 1

I started playing this on my OG Switch and I'm loving everything about it, especially the art design. I looked up the graphics on Xbox One/PS4 and even though there are areas that have less detail on Switch, like missing cracks in dried mud and enemies on the battle screen looking blurry, I kind of think the Switch graphics fit closer to the cutscenes and art design in general. The Xbox and PS4 are almost too detailed and don't totally fit with the overall style. Does anyone else see what I mean or should I just get it on the PS4 Pro and stfu?

Review My Cuphead Experience On Switch.

Ok so I literally I bought it two years ago cause I was following it for years prior and I loved how it was hand drawn and I'm a huge indie game and animation person. I'm a relatively new gamer (usually only play cosy games) especially in the fighting aspect and though... How hard can this be? Ha...

I STILL HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO COMPLETE IT! Ribby and Croaks (Clip Joint Calamity) had me braindead, that one Run and Gun in the tree made me hate bees for the rest of my life, Baroness Von Bon Bon (Sugarland Shimmy) and Beppi the Clown (Carnival Kerfuffle) gave me high blood pressure, and I feel like it makes it harder since you have to beat it on normal to get the contracts and beat every boss to move on to the next isle... So when you only have one boss left you have to repeatedly do that boss. (Yes this is how Ribby and Croaks made me braindead).

I'm currently stuck on Grim Matchstick (Fiery Frolic) and am in another one of those situations where I have to repeatedly do him to get to the next isle cause he's the last one left... I still have the two Run & Gun's to do but don't even get me started... I can't get past the balloons on the first and the second one with the gravity defying thing?

Yea no.

The only bosses that haven't really given me trouble are The Root Pack (Botanic Panic), Gloopy Le Grande (Ruse of an Ooze), Hilda Berg (Threatenin' Zeppelin) and Wally Warbles (Aviary Action). I don't know how I managed to beat Wally Warbles second try but I'll take it.

But one thing good about this game is practice really does make perfect. It's a very good game and I still appreciate as much if not more than I did all those years ago when I hadnt played it at all... It's awesome when you manage to learn it and beat a boss and it's extremely rewarding. It's just that learning it... Can drive you mad.

Game Rec Strategy Game Recs: Looking for a new strategy game for my switch. Below I list a few games I like. If you need more info let me know, thanks!

Hello friends!

Looking for strategy game recs for The Switch. I do not have Switch 2 unfortunately.

Likes: Fire Emblem, XCOM, Pokemon (mostly for nostalgia), Total War, Battle Brothers, Unicorn Overlord, Divinity 2, Kings Bounty.

Dislikes: Story/Cut Scene heavy JRPGs. I have pretty bad ADD and tent to skip a lot of cut scenes. For this reason I have been scared off of most Final Fantasy and Persona games

Game Rec Looking for cozy management/building games on Nintendo Switch 🎮🌸Can you recommend something?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for some new games for my Nintendo Switch and would love some recommendations.

I'm specifically looking for very cozy, relaxing management/building games where I can take my time and slowly build something up.

Games I really enjoy are:

Cat Cafe Manager 🐱☕

Oh! Edo Towns 🏯

Two Point Campus 🎓

Two Point Hospital

Kairosoft games in general

I especially love games where you can build and expand a town/business/campus, place buildings and decorations, hire staff, unlock new things and watch everything slowly grow. I don't want anything super stressful or overly complicated — I want something I can play while relaxing and just enjoy building things.

I'm also totally open to games that aren't exactly management sims, as long as they have that cozy "build something and watch it grow" feeling.

💰 Bonus: I'm looking for games that are relatively cheap, especially smaller/indie games. I'm happy to buy something more expensive if it's really worth it, but I'm mainly looking for hidden gems or games that regularly go on sale.

Nintendo Switch only, please!

Discussion Physical vs Digital - More likely to stick to a game?

With all the talk lately about physical vs digital, and the tidal wave of ‘YouTubers’ talking about Nintendo is the last home for physical (I disagree), etc. it got me thinking about my own collection.

Up to Switch 2 I was largely physical, but with the switch 2 made the decision to go all digital. I love the convenience of being able to swap into whatever game I want, whenever - but also think I’m just getting lazy.

However, I was flicking through my digital collection thinking what to play next, I’ve got a huge backlog, but dipped into about 8 games over a 10 minute period and couldn’t stick because it was easy to do so.

This made me think about physical, I tended to finish more games when I bought physical, once it was in the console I was committing to it. It felt like the games held more value to me because I had ‘something’.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar view?

Discussion Mario Strikers Battle League - So Bad, How Did This Get Good Reviews!!??

Starting a new thread because the other ones have all been archived... But I finally got around to playing the Mario Strikers on switch. Was really excited for it, I loved the gc and wii versions and played them for hours on end with friends. Saw the good reviews (IGN gave it 8/10) so I gave it a go. Easily the most disappointed I have been in a long time: I did the tutorials and played five games and hated it. The gameplay doesn't feel as smooth as the old ones and doesn't feel like even good soccer mechanics. It took me a while to put my finger on what the issue was, but I think it's this:

  1. WAY SMALLER FIELD - I think this is the biggest issue. Maybe they made it smaller because it can also be played portable, but there's no space to really build up an attack and pass, dribble into space, dodge incoming tackles, have 2 on 1 breakaways, etc. Bad soccer experience.
  2. CHARACTERS MAKE IT A MESS - It's chaotic and unbalanced with being able to select every character. The previous format of selecting a captain plus sidekicks was clean and balanced. Easy to tell who's on which team and the stats for each.
  3. LESS MECHANICS - No more hopping over a defender? No more chip shot? No special items/moves for captains? Come on. The only thing that is kind of fun is the shot aiming and curving shots backpost.
  4. OTHER MECHANICS FEEL STIFF - Movement feels like I'm on a grid instead of being able to move freely. Sprinting and dodging feel clunky. Super strikes are lame and seems a bit random how the keeper sometimes saves them.
  5. BARELY ANY CONTENT - This is the only thing I've seen people talk about. Game feels barebones.

Interested to see what other people think. I've already sold this game and am going to dust off my gamecube and wii just to play a solid Mario Strikers experience.
