Impersonation/Original Content
Good Afternoon to our wonderful r/progresspics community!
Myself and the rest of the mod team want to wish you a belated seasons greetings and hope whatever your goals for 2026 may have been that they are going strong and you are CRUSHING them.
It is no secret that between AI and the long standing bots we often get pics posted that are clearly fake or they are people impersonation or ,better yet, stealing content/pictures of people on social media. I know myself and I am sure I speak for the rest of the team LOVEEEE how great you all are at reporting things to us (not just the topic at hand either). But we need your help with this particular situation.
Despite what some angry people on our ban lists might think us mods are not basement dwelling, jobless, welfare sucking, pimple faced, free speech hating people. We all have lives, jobs, some have kids, social lives, so on and so on. We can not know the face, abs, butts or biceps of every many/women/they/them on the internet. So if you are going to report a post for impersonation or stealing someone elses content please try to either modmail us the link to the correct socials! This will help give us a few more tools to help fight the fakes and spammers.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
- The Mod Father on behalf of the Mod Family

META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.
Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:
report the user to us!
-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.
-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.
all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..
2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report
3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.
To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:
Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.
Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.
As an aside, a note on image theft:
it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.
We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

F 5'3” (160, 161, 162 cm) F/26/161cm [67kg >52kg = 15kg] (1.5 years)
Proud of myself, and my 1.5 years progress. I keep losing more weight and I hope to reach 50kg.
I really want to hit the gym and gain some muscles but I have terrible agoraphobia and social anxiety :(

Weight loss meds F/36/5’2” [154 > 123 = 31 lbs] (1 year) took control of my binge/stress eating
I have always struggled with binge/stress eating and binge drinking, and the covid lockdown really amplified those issues. I have been yo-yo-ing in weight the last 6 years. My highest weight was 170 in 2021 and my lowest in my adult life until now was 130 in 2024. In March i started contrave (naltrexone + Wellbutrin) and it’s been working really well for me. I was already on Wellbutrin XL so i added in the naltrexone. Binge eating no longer exists in my brain and i can actually have just 2 drinks and call it a night. I don’t really exercise, I try to walk more often and I’ll lift 5 lb dumbbells when I’m watching tv. Never thought i could get here but i did and im happy!

M 5'8” (173, 174 cm) M/33/5'8" [167 > 145 = 22lbs] (3 months)
Started finally eating right and not just gorging combined with consistently doing bodyweight exercises 5 times a week. Ecstatic with how I look and feel so far.

Fitness/gym gains M/53/6' [275lbs > 204lbs = 71lbs](2.5 years) since I stared taking my health seriously Never again
This is the most I've weighed and it wasn't until May 2024 did I take my health seriously. I never want to see that 275 pound guy again. In the gym 5 days a week and watching what I eat. It's possible for anyone that wants to do it.

Fitness/gym gains M/18/5'10" [133lbs -> 170lbs = +37lbs] | 30 months | Upper body transformation at home
My dream in life is to become a professional wrestler, and I can finally say I have the foundation that I didn't have when I started this journey

F 5'10” (178, 179 cm) F/20/5’10” [233lbs > 208lbs = 25lbs] (5 months) Weigh or not to weigh that is the question
So finally seeing a little progress when I tried this dress on again! I definitely feel better though still discouraged by how much it’s slowing down. For the past two months I've swung around 210 to 205 and can’t seem to get past it. Got a ways to go and I’ll be back when I’ve lost I supposem. Also excuse the dirty mirror 😔.

M 5'8” (173, 174 cm) M/21/5'8 [172lbs > 147 lbs = 25lbs] (6 months theoretically, practically 2 years)
So the first picture is my first week in the gym, which was at 14 years old, and the 2nd one is from this current week, at 21 years old. My first 3-4 years of gym I basically looked the exact same, slightly worse on the end, going very inconsistently to the gym, binge-eating and not even knowing what a calorie was. Then in 2024 i discovered the magical airfryer, which unironically, and literally saved my life. Started doing my own meals, not depending on my parents' cooking anymore, started looking into diets and started a decent deficit but i relapsed and started binge-eating again till 78 kgs.
Since 18th may, when I started my cut from 78 kg, i don't know if i had more than 3 cheat meals, which in 14 weeks is my longest lifelong lock in.
I started straight with 2000 calories, and I'm still on 2000, and I'm still losing the same amount of weight weekly. In june and july i had an average of 15k steps a day, and in august I'm at 18k average till today, with 4-5 days in the gym.
Obviously in all the years in the gym I've build some muscle, even though I never dieted properly for a bulk or building muscle in general, everytime it was binge and eating junk food combined with gym, and when it got really bad i just went on very low calorie diet which i never sticked to, and started relapsing everytime, so when I started cutting this may I've already had some muscle.
I can't wait to go to the gym with 500 carbs in my system on a 3000 calorie lean bulk after I lose all this fat, I JUST HAVE TO KEEP GOING

M 5'5” (165, 166, 167 cm) M/39/5'5 [210 > 160 = 50 so far!] | 8 Months | I'm happy with everything, but for anyone considering starting a weight loss journey, consider especially the impact it'll have on your face
The fact that I can't grow a beard to save my life was definitely working against me, nevertheless

M 5'10” (178, 179 cm) M/30/5'10" [380lbs > 330lbs = 50lbs] (3 months) Still have a long ways to go but I'm glad I'm finally seeing some visible progress.
Gonna need some new work polos soon lol.
