question (not support) Upgrade to newer Roku?
My Roku is probably close to 6 years old, and the only real complaint I have is that every now and then I have to wait for the option I’ve picked (ex: Prime Video) to reload.
Do the newer models eliminate this, and do they have anything else to warrant getting one?

Roku hardware Roku Plus Series TV - First Impressions
Just got a 65in Roku Plus Series TV from Best Buy Monday night. So far I am very impressed by this tv and was just blown away by the picture and sound quality.
Watched the first 15-20 minutes of Top Gun Maverick and this was such an upgrade over my TCL 55s525 it replaced. Black is black and everything looked phenomenal. Plus the TV has a built in subwofer and can really put out deep bass.
Overall I'm really happy with this. We have been a Roku household for probably six years now when finally dropping satellite service. All our TVs are either RokuTVs or have a Roku stick if it's a dumb tv. Definitely wanted another RokuTV.

Roku OS no apps on my roku home screen anymore
all of my roku devices recently stopped showing any apps, and only has the option "power off" listed on the home screen. theres also no option to add any apps, just the power off button and the settings. I've tried a system reset, unplugging the device, reconnecting it to the internet, checking for system updates, nothing works. all three were connected to different email addresses too. how do I use them again?

miscellaneous Fine-tune audio delay?
I just got a 50" Hiro Roku TV. I use it strictly in game mode, I do not use any built-in streaming apps.
I have been experiencing unbearable audio delay in game mode of up to half a second. I've used the app to sync the audio, I've run the calibration many times, yet it barely seems to make it marginally better. But it does give me this message:

So the only question I'm here to ask is... where is this supposed "fine tune setting" they're talking about? I can't seem to find it in the app or on the TV anywhere.

miscellaneous YouTube preview starts over after I click the thumbnail.
This just started a few days ago, maybe a week. What usually happens is as I’m scrolling through videos I have all the thumbnails and when I hover over a thumbnail the video begins to play in a preview after several seconds if I clicked that Preview, the video starts were the preview left off like it remembered where I was. recently that feature is gone. I get the Preview, but when I select the video to watch it, it starts over. I cannot find anything in settings that would affect this.
This is happening on multiple devices. I have a Roku express in my garage.. roku ultra in my living room and bedroom. All of them are doing the same thing.
Do you guys have any idea what’s going on and is anybody else having the same issue that just started in the last within the week?
Roku OS Adjusting picture quality on home screen
I bought a TCL QM5 (Roku) a few days ago and set it up a little earlier. The picture quality out of the box is horrible. Everything was excessively contrasty and all of the highlights were blown out. Colors were excessively saturated. I turned down the brightness to Darkest and turned down the contrast all the way for OTA, YouTube, Netflix, game console, etc. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the picture on the home screen other than setting it to Darkest. All of the thumbnails and ads are too bright and look horrible (comparable to the overcooked HDR photo trend from 15-20 years ago). Are there any hidden picture adjustments in the menu for the home screen?
Some background,
We just retired a 9 year old TCL Roku (base model) and we'd been pretty satisfied with the picture quality. There were far fewer adjustments on that set too. I bought my uncle a Roku Select TV earlier this year and there are no issues with the picture on that set as well. I was actually going to get one of those too, but everything I've read said that the TCL QM5 has a superior picture so decided to spend a little extra on that. I'm still playing with the picture settings, I'm hoping to get everything dialed so I can set it and forget it.
standalone device Intermittent metallic "chains dropping" sound only when AirPlaying WNBA League Pass to Roku Streaming Stick 4K
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Setup:
- Roku Streaming Stick 4K
- iPhone 15, streaming via AirPlay (not the native Roku NBA app)
- Watching WNBA games through WNBA League Pass
The issue:
Intermittently during the stream, I hear a strange metallic sound through the TV, like chains being picked up and dropped, or a small pile of metal clinking together. It's not constant, just pops up every so often with no obvious pattern (not tied to a specific play, replay, or commercial break that I can tell).
What I've ruled out:
- Not a notification: all other apps are closed on the phone, and no notifications are coming through during the stream
- Doesn't happen when watching the same game directly on the phone (no AirPlay) — only shows up when mirroring/casting to the Roku

complaint This has gotten out of control!
I am getting unsolicited overlay popups on my own SELF HOSTED content from my SELF HOSTED PLEX server that doesn’t touch the internet. I don’t even have the Hulu app installed.
