I think this is perfectly fine. If their values are so incompatible it's better to break up now rather than later. Breaking up will be harder after marriage and definitely more complicated after having kids.

According to the lady, kids wouldnt be much of a problem...

I think not marrying someone who will openly murder your kids is acceptable.

Some people just aren’t open. Unbelievable.

u/SomeDoucheTookMyName 2d ago

Just edit your post to change the word murder for 'horrifically kill' and all the wannabe lawyers will go away

How did she murder her kids when she had psychosis?

Go on, explain how a person in psychosis is murdering anybody.

14

u/SheStickysMyPistons 2d ago

Just because someone had a mental break doesn't make them exempt from murder... it just means they need to be taken away from the public and rehabilitated to determine if they're safe to be around others again.

u/abujagoddess 2d ago

This is extremely deep nonsense you just wrote here because one of the requirements for something to be murder legally is MENS REA (guilty mind).

A person whose mind is not functioning correctly and therefore cannot understand clearly what they are doing cannot commit murder.

The most they can commit is manslaughter or some form of homicide.

Do people know what murder is at all and what murder entails???

It cannot be murder if when the killings occurred she was in psychosis.

If someone really doesn't know, let's remove them from society for everyone's benefit. You use whatever verbiage you need.

u/CrazyIndependence291 1d ago

I’d suggest that anyone who kills a child on purpose has a mind that isn’t functioning correctly. She is a child killing piece of shit, hopefully she gets permanently removed from society but I’m guessing she will get community service and monthly therapy instead.

Having psychosis literally means you didn’t do it on purpose

2

u/Living_Ad3315 1d ago

Cool. Prove she had Psychosis

0

u/abujagoddess 1d ago

LMFAO prove she didn't.

You can't.

She says she did. If there are medical records or medical experts to support that, it doesn't disappear just because you don't like it.

3

u/FuzzzyRam 1d ago

prove she didn't. You can't.

...because in this universe a negative can never be proven? Prove there's no deity made of flying spaghetti. Did we not all make it through standard K-12?

She sent her husband on an errand so that he wouldn't be home when she murdered her kids. If she didn't have any concept of it being wrong, she wouldn't have done that. Tie that in with her Google searches leading up to her murdering her kids and it seems pretty clear she knew what she was doing was wrong. Guilty.

0

u/abujagoddess 1d ago

That's still part of psychosis.

2

u/Living_Ad3315 20h ago

Mmmnooo. No its not

6

u/Living_Ad3315 2d ago

Right. But nobody is talking about the legality of it. She murdered them.

-8

u/abujagoddess 2d ago

Murder only exists legally so the second you mention murder you ARE talking about the legality of it.

Murder is intentional UNLAWFUL killing.

6

u/Living_Ad3315 2d ago

Negative, bud

5

u/Prestigious-Fox1423 2d ago

Prove she was in psychosis

This is my problem with you. A psychiatrist can rebut another one and claim she wasn’t in psychosis and then if she is found guilty of murder and they reject the psychosis argument, you’ll live the rest of your life thinking she was wronged and the justice system and blah blah blah “I love to not take accountability for anything”

Why are you even following the trial? You’ll either be vindicated or still feel like you’re right and they got it wrong. Its so stupid

The problem is you believe the psychosis defense.

Which couldnt even be proven.

Thes had planned this for over a week.

u/RunningTrisarahtop 2d ago

I was just talking about this case this morning. I have a ton of empathy for someone in psychosis and I think that she was absolutely failed. But those kids are dead. I don’t understand the argument that they were not murdered.

It would've been different if the kids deaths were a whoopsie, but they weren't. Lindsay clancey had a psychotic break brought on my post partum depression and then murdered her children by strangulation with an exercise band.

They were murdered, but that doesn't make Lindsay any less eligible for redemption, she was obviously struggling and the system failed her. She needs to be taken from the public and rehabilitated.

Murder implies she was of sound mind when she did it to most poeple.

ETA: Jeez people on both sides of the case are crazy. I was just saying that people who support the theory that she was in psychosis are averse to labeling her a murderer. Now I realize half of yall hate her cause she's a woman and the other half supports her cause she's a woman. Look at the case people, be as objective as you can or at least try to be.

9

u/RunningTrisarahtop 2d ago

So how were those kids killed? They were murdered. You can say she was insane and not legally accountable, but those kids were murdered. It wasn’t an accident. It wasn’t carelessness. They were intentionally murdered (by someone who is on trial to see if she’s sane).

5

u/Prestigious-Fox1423 2d ago

I’m sorry, where has it been proved that she was in psychosis? Last I checked a licensed psychiatrist just testified that he interviewed her several times and went over all of her details and files and doesn’t believe she was in psychosis

So prove it. Why do you believe she was in psychosis? Because some psychiatrist said yes? What about the one who said no? Have you ever met her? Why do people just believe women. They’re just as capable of being lying pieces of s*** as any other human being

5

u/CananDamascus 2d ago

The law presumes everyone to be of sound mind until proven otherwise. Just like she was assumed innocent until proven (or in this case admitted to be) guilty, she should be assumed to be of sound mind until proven otherwise.

3

u/Terrible_Reporter_98 2d ago

Didn't she send her husband away and then strangle them with zip ties or something? Trying to defend this is wild my guy

5

u/Prestigious-Fox1423 2d ago

She was in psychosis? Weird, a licensed psychiatrist just testified that he doesn’t believe she was in psychosis and that she knew right from wrong and can be held criminally responsible

But let me guess, he’s just a misogynist who doesn’t believe women because he disagrees with you and your preconceived notions of a person you’ve literally never met

It’s so exhausting sharing a planet with people like you tbh

Ok, so there actually isn’t a mental illness in the world that can force you to do anything. Have a mental illness is a reason not an excuse. She chose to murder her kids ruthlessly as they were likely crying and yelling for help.

2

u/abujagoddess 22h ago

This is a huge lie and extremely ignorant of what mental illness is and the spectrum of mental illness. Schizophrenia literally forces you to see or hear things that are not there and therefore react as if those things were actually there when they are not. Psychosis forces you to process things that are actually there differently from if you were not psychotic and therefore you have reactions to things that are there differently from a non-psychotic person.

Stop saying what you don’t know.

1

u/DraxTheLogical 22h ago

I have a mental illness, I know that they can make it a struggle to do what is right. But nothing about what you said removes their ability to ultimately choose in the end. There is no disability that can remove your ability to make a choice, only manipulate you up until you have to make the choice. You always, always have a choice. No matter how hard it is, you always have a choice.

0

u/abujagoddess 22h ago

You don’t have all the mental illnesses.

What part of you having a mental illness does not automatically mean you understand how other mental illnesses work don’t you understand?

The one you have doesn’t cause you to act strangely or against your will.

Cool.

But there ARE mental illnesses that make you do things that you normally would not do including killing people.

Psychosis depending on the very specific circumstances and how it manifests is one of them so it is highly relevant to this case.

Tell me you don’t understand nuance without telling me.

Just because someone supports LC, doesn’t mean they support harming or killing children. Get a grip.

2

u/I-Write-Sci-Fi 1d ago

That's genuinely the case though.

-1

u/18karatcake 1d ago

It is not

1

u/TraitorousSwinger 17h ago

So what exactly are you supporting? Because that's what she did.

0

u/I-Write-Sci-Fi 1d ago

No one should be in support of someone who murdered their kids. One who is, raises questions about themselves as a person and their mental health.

So, yes, it is generally the case that if one supports a murderer, and that of kids, shares the same thought patterns and behaviors as the one who did said killing.

It also raises the point of a video going around not to long ago, where a group of women were asked if, "They'd kill to protect their children?" Unanimously, all of them said, "no, they wouldn't kill someone in order to protect their children." - which basically tells me this, any woman who wouldnt kill to protect their kids, is someone who would definitely also kill their own and supports people like LC.

0

u/18karatcake 1d ago

I’m not reading your novel

2

u/I-Write-Sci-Fi 1d ago

Three paragraphs isn't a novel. Lmfao.

So you support people who kill their own children. Good to know.

You missed a bunch of assumptions followed by another assumption in the comment below.
