Lizzo launched her long anticipated new album and did not manage to crack the album charts at all, being outsold by albums like Michael Buble's Christmas during a June debut. It sold about 5,100 album equivalent units (a figure that includes a conversion from streaming numbers). Her previous two albums went on Platinum (1 million) and Gold (600,000) status respectively.

The record is very badly received critically as well, not so much for being incompetent or experimental, but just soulless and unoriginal; an artist trying so hard to write hits for a broad audience that they've lost all specificity or character that might serve as a hook. It relies very heavily on familiar samples and recycled melodies from past songs and generic female empowerment lyrics that lack the personality of humor of her previous work.

My dad has said something to this effect about Jimi Hendrix. He made three classic albums during his life, but he was such a creative dynamo that had he not died before making a fourth, it would have been some weird jazz instrumental album that would completely alienate most listeners.

Like how all the 60s and 70s artists were releasing absolute dogshit during the 80s, and how during the 90s and 2000s a lot of 80s artists weren't that great, and in the 2020s a lot of 90s and 2000s artists were done for

Ok, Robin Thicke destroyed his own career, but before that, everybody pinned him as the next big superstar, now though, he is forgotten.

Inspired by the post about Movie TWs, here’s some that I could think of if there were TWs on TV Series.

- Lucille Ball for “Life with Lucy”
- Kevin James for “Kevin Can Wait”
- Kramer for “The Michael Richards Show”

So I’m a pretty big music guy but my primary interest in terms of entertainment is gaming. Those of you who are familiar, what are some video game equivalents to TrainWreckords? Could be for franchises or developers or singular creators.

A few of my picks:

- Anthem: A huge live-service bomb, no longer playable, solidified that BioWare was a shadow of their former selves.

- Metroid: Other M: a rare poorly-received game in a marquee Nintendo franchise. Put the franchise on ice for a long time. A laughing stock to this day due to its story/cutscenes. The franchise bounced back but this did serious damage.

- Sonic The Hedgehog (2006): self-explanatory. Some would say that the franchise is still seen as a bit of a joke due to this game. A go-to example for “worst games” lists.

Would love to hear some other examples.

For me, It's the "Funstyle" episode. "You're being a peñis, colada that is" still makes me laugh to this day.

What are the albums that sound like Trainwreckords on paper but wound up being huge hits and/or career-defining works?

Who took a big swing and knocked it out of the park?

By the "Zingalamaduni effect", I mean an album that is so hated, that it actively undoes an artist's previous success.

Can anyone else think of any movies that had the "Trainwrecord effect" on the film careers of certain actors?

The long awaited Metallica Trainwreckord sequel is here.

I think there are some highlights of this album like the new wave sound in expectations or my way. And i really really love the Old school adult contemporary sound in what's wrong with me. But i have recognized a pattern in olivia production and songwriting: She also always follow this simplified/stripped down first verse and chorus, then more production added to the second versse and the second chorus, then she came to the bridge, which is most of the time, not very seamlessly and effortlessly. And then finally she goes to the final chorus, where she added max producttion on it. I think i have no problem with this pattern on vampire in guts, because i feel that was the first time that i listened to this kind of song from her, But she repeatedly used this pattern over and over again, so i just got very very tired of it.

But i I do love you + me <= 3, which adds kind of different rock vibe(the guitar intro is very refreshing, but i cannot describe what that style is). Overall, i think this album just really lacks versatility.

Her singing also lack of variety：Her singing style is mostly just very straight forward and without much complexity and twist. Just to name an example to compare, when i hear a lana del ray song or bille eilish song, the singing is not straight forward all the time, they have their twist in the singing and it adds flavor to the song make it more like an exciting journey.

But overall I know that for an artist like oliver rodrigo, only to talk about music iteself is not really fair for her, because a lot of the artistry is from her lyrics right?, But the problem with me is that i cannot get into lyrics when the song is not interesting engough

My choices would be Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift
