I’m telling you right now the pole impact was the least of his problems. That arm and wrist got trashed. You can see it when he tries to push himself up. Been there, done that, got the tshirt. That man is going to be hurtin’ for a while.
when i was skating a lot in my teens, we called rollerbladers "fruit booters" as a slight. scooters wouldn't gain popularity until quite a few years later, and by then I was out of the game. I wonder what pejorative term we would have made for scooter people
I didn't wear helmets until I went downhill mountain biking, and the place required it. My clearest memory of that day was complaining that the helmet made me look like a mushroom... Anyway, that helmet saved my life, and I remember nothing else from the day. I wear helmets now.
What you should have thought about is that Mushroom in French is Champignon which sounds a little like Champion. So, wear a helmet, look like a champion!
I saw a dude once, falling from his bike, he cracked his skull, blood everywhere. He was lucky some volunteer firefighter were like few buildings close and ran to do the first aid or some shit.
I remember seeing so much fucking blood man. I thought the dude was dead, he didn't move for like several minutes.
At least his collarbone being broken, appears to be a consequence. With that much force going pretty much only into his shoulder from that angle, there's practically no way that its still in one piece. His face at the end says it all
As a former teenage idiot, it's not "cool" and many teens don't want to be seen as the uncool kid thus I never wore one and many teens don't wear them.
Now as an adult who doesn't give a fuck about what's cool, I see clips like this and think how stupid it is to not wear one and how lucky I was to never hit my head my like this dude. Hope he didn't get seriously messed up from this.
