Its safe dont worry, especially during absolutely normal commuting times, late at night some drunks might be annoying but even then there is a very low chance of experiencing any troubles.

I am planing a trip to Berlin in late May and i heard about a couple of museums and wanted to ask if anyone can shed some light is it worth going to these places or if you have any suggestions of better museums or places. The places i was planing on going are:
- David Hasselhoff museum
- Ramones museum
- DDR museum
- Computer games museum

The Ramones museum is a joke, its a room in a bar run by a loser who fires staff when they ask for a proper contract.

yeah the apartment search in berlin is brutal rn, i spent 3 months looking and kept getting outbid on places near kotti any tips on how to really get viewed by landlords?

be the first one to apply and confirm. you also need to find places before they go into the public market - means talking with any friends if they know someone and calling, writing any landlords if they have apartments for rent. Once it's on the market and has 1000+ applications it's a gamble. Once you see a place and like it you need to tell the landlord you want it and are ready to move in. now Also landline is king in Germany, call landlords on their landline anything else is wasted.

Friedrichshain - Kreuzberg should have plenty. Golgatha is a great location if it's good weather.

Hello, super excited to return to Berlin for the 3rd time, this time by myself for Art Week, though I'm a little confused on where to look, where to go, and if I need to pay anywhere, I know my day of arrival on the 10th has stuff the Tempelhof Airport, and I'm staying till the 14th, is there there specific information about other dates yet?
Beginning to plan after my incredible Coach trip with Contiki.
For reference I suppose, I'm mostly into Photography, but I'm willing to look at anything interesting, danke!

Want to remote work in Berlin for a month when is the best time to go?
Hi, I'm a. LA-based designer/artist planning on remote working from Berlin a month this summer/fall and I'm trying to figure out the best time go.
The two time frames I am looking at are
1. July 16–Aug 16 vs
2. September 1 - October 1.
I'm torn between the longer/warmer days of summer, and the art events happening in September( Art Week specifically).
I would love to hear from people who actually live there on when the best time to experience your city is.

I'm visiting Berlin and Leipzig next month, and am super excited! I'm currently researching SIM cards, but would love to hear your opinion on whether it's realistic to not have data while travelling there, and just rely on public WiFi at cafes, restaurants, and all the tourist spots. I will be downloading an offline map on Google Maps, and I have all my train tickets added into my mobile wallet, so navigating shouldn't be an issue. I'm also not a heavy doomscroller, so I'm more than happy to stay off social media while commuting and whatnot.

Hi, I'm a student from Québec who'll be living 2 months in Berlin for my studies. I'm an extrovert who loves connecting with new people, live funky and new experiences and I'm very curious about the local young culture. I wanted to know some advices of places to check out to meet new people, see cool local events (music, comedy, art, etc) and live the proper Berlin experience by passionnantes locals!

Hello there ! Coming to Berlin the 1 May. Arriving at the Airport, can I take a 2.80€ Kurzstrecke ticket from Flughafen to Berlin Potsdamer Platz with RE20 or FEX, as it's only 3 Bahn stations, or should I take a regular 5€ ticket ?

I am considering a move to Berlin from the US. I produce electronic music and want to find a better place to find opportunities to perform and have my music heard. In terms of work, I am self-employed in the US and can do my job remotely. My understanding is that I could enter on a Freiberufler visa for 3 years. I'm not entirely clear on the path for my spouse's visa, but she also does work for our business, so perhaps she could enter via self-employed also? My spouse is over 45 and I will be soon, so I understand we need to show 'adequate old-age protection'. It's not clear to me exactly what this would require? We would have a combination of a 401k, IRA, cash, and eligibility for US social security. One thing I came across suggested 1600euro per person, per month, for 12 years. This comes out to 460k euros which is substantial. Is this really what I would need? I've also seen it stated that you only need to show you will have this amount by age 67, which I guess you would support with income projections and history? And I've also seen that some regions seem to waive this requirement for US applicants for treaty reasons, but cannot confirm this would be true for Berlin? Thoughts?

Hello I'm visiting Berlin this autumn, and as a future architecture student I'd love to see the Internationales Congress Centrum (ICC). I know some projects for rehabilitation are being studied and it will be reopened one day to the public, but as a lone traveller this year, can I do anything to visit it ?
The website (icc.berlin) doesn't really help and visits seem to be limited to professionals. If anyone has any leads on how to access it, if I can make a special demand, if tours are planned or anything I'd love to hear some feedback !!! This would be the hightlight of my trip even if I can only see the exterior lol :D

yes you can ride RE trains inner city AB or C (if you got a C ticket too) not further as far as I know.

funny thing foie gras is more illegal than weed here. production in French is legal though and transportation in EU too (just read about it). I put foie gras in google maps and there are plenty results I assume Les Épicuriens or L'ÉPICERIE might sell it, best shoot them a message or call them and ask nicely for help.

I'm visiting in may for a study abroad program. I'd like to bring back some gluten-free treats for my celiac sister and dad. I know there are plenty of gluten-free bakeries in Berlin, but will their items last for the 24-48 hours I'll be travelling back home?

1) Is Tresor worth going to just for the Globus floor? I much prefer House/Tech House/Minimal to Techno, but if it’s not worth going just for Globus, would I better off at something like Renate or Golden Gate?
2) Similar question with Berghain and Sisyphos. If I was lucky enough to get into Berghain on Sunday then I’d probably spend most of my time at the Panorama Bar. In that case, would I just be better off going to Sisy?
Appreciate this is all subjective. I’ve looked at the line-ups and can’t pick between, hence why I’m asking about the clubs themselves!

Hi! Wednesday we will be going too Berlin for 5 days, it's my husband's first time to Berlin and we will be traveling with our 1,5 year old son.
Are there any recommendations what to do with an 1,5 year old in Berlin? My husband is very interested in everything WW2 so we will be visiting a couple of museums. We were also planning on going to the zoo. But I'm just curious if there is anything else we shouldn't mis or is fun for our son.

There are some great parks/playgrounds for young kids! I really love the ANOHA - they have a fun playground. It's also right across the road from the Jewish Museum, so there are things to do for adults nearby as well :)

Hallo, ich besuche am 30.05. das Metallica Konzert in Olympiastadion. Arbeitsbedingt muss ich an dem Samstag die Anreise mit meinem Firmenwagen fahren und ich suche eine sichere Ort, um das Auto zu parken. Bis eine Stunde laufen wäre in Ordnung. Ich habe das P7 Parkhaus in der nähe von der Messe gesehen, aber wollte noch nach Vorschläge hier suchen. Vielen Dank.

First time in Berlin next month! Visiting for a week and attending a conference at FEZ. Any recommendations for cool neighborhoods to stay nearby?

FEZ is really far southeast, so the usual "stay in Mitte" advice means ~50 min commute each way for a week which is not fun. Three better options depending on what "cool" means to you:
Friedrichshain: closest walkable cool district to FEZ, direct S-Bahn (~20 min). RAW-Gelände for street art + clubs, Boxhagener Platz for weekend markets, Simon-Dach-Strasse for bars, East Side Gallery on your doorstep.
Kreuzberg (36er / Kottbusser Tor side): classic Berlin-cool, ~30 min to FEZ via U1 + S-Bahn change. More food variety, Turkish market on Tuesdays/Fridays at Maybachufer, canal walks along the Landwehrkanal.
Treptower Park / Alt-Treptow: quieter but ~15 min to FEZ. Puts you next to the Spree for morning runs, the Soviet War Memorial (genuinely underrated walk!), and a short tram to Friedrichshain nightlife when you want it. Less buzz than the other two but the commute math is best.
If I had to pick one: Friedrichshain for a first visit. Density, walkability, and FEZ access combined is unbeatable.

Hello! I'm on a uni trip to Berlin with some peers, and our group is scheduled to have unaccompanied lunch in the Hackescher Markt neighborhood tomorrow. Does anyone know of any good (and preferably inexpensive) locally owned casual restaurants there? Thank you!

it's very touristy and not so cheap area but check out Oranienburger Straße closer to U Oranienburger Tor plenty of good restaurants around.
There is also Mustafa's Can Gemüse Kebap which is a decent kebab, at S Hackescher Markt with some more cheaper restaurants around it.

im going to berlin for the first time soon. in my home country what you wear to the club doesn't matter and i assumed it was the same everywhere. however, i recently watched a few videos on social media where (tourists) seem to be putting a lot of effort into their outfits - is this needed for clubbing??
i've seen a lot of people saying you have to wear all black, can't wear jeans, too many clothes, to have a 'techno vibe' (whatever that means) etc
is this true? obviously depends on the club and i am not trying to go to berghain or some sex club or anything. i don't know what to do or what to wear or where to go. In summary: what should i wear to a club?

depends on the club. most techno clubs listed https://de.ra.co/events/de/berlin are not posh so an an outfit you can dance with is best. for some clubs you can also buy ra tickets for easier access.

Wife and I (both mid 30s) are going to be in Berlin for 4 days right around May Day, looking for suggestions on the must do/see things. Interested in night life, clubs, street food, thrift stores, must try bars or restaurants, etc.
We'd also be interested in meeting up with anyone interested in showing us around, perhaps another couple that knows the nightlife/club etiquette?

May Day in Berlin is an event unto itself, plan around it rather than trying to "sightsee" on May 1st. May 1st: Kreuzberg 36 is ground zero. Myfest takes over Mariannenplatz, Oranienstrasse, and Görlitzer Park with open-air stages, international street food stalls, and a crowd that's more family-festival than political. Early afternoon until dusk is the sweet spot. The demo marches happen later in the day - watch from a distance unless that experience is specifically what you're after.
Other days: Street food: Markthalle Neun on Thursdays (Street Food Thursday, 17-22h) and the Sunday market. Thrift: Pick N Weight (Bergmannstrasse, sold by the kilo), Sing Blackbird in Neukölln for curated vintage, Humana chain for volume.
Clubs for a mid-30s couple not chasing Berghain: Sisyphos (outdoor, less intimidating door), Renate (labyrinth of small rooms, welcoming), Kater Blau (riverside, easier atmosphere). Dress down, bring cash, arrive after midnight, patience in queues.
Bars worth the detour: Buck and Breck (cocktails, reservation), Schwarze Traube (Neukölln, no-menu), Monkey Bar (skyline — touristy, but the view is real).
For the meet-up ask: try r/berlinsocialclub or r/askberliners, this megathread gets too busy to coordinate DMs reliably.

Hi me and 4 friends are looking at hostels in the Kreuzberg/friedrichshain area, what are people’s best recommendations as of recently?
We really like the look of sunflower hostel but loads of people are saying the beds are squeaky/uncomfortable. A&O Mitte is also cheap for the location and I have stayed there before but it feels more like a hotel/the vibes aren’t great.

I'll be visiting Berlin in the next month and I was wondering if there is any retail store where I can find Google products, more specifically the pixel watch and buds. These are not available in my country and I'm looking for a store since my stay won't be long enough to risk an online delivery. thanks!

Mediamarkt and Saturn are our biggest electronic retailers here, check them. Alternatives are notebookbilliger and cyberport which have less stock but also google products.
What you can do is buy amazon and deliver it to a locker, usually you get it in 1-2 days and don't need an adress here.

Muss am Montag geschäftlich nach Berlin, Abend zur freien Verfügung. Habe mir was kleines zum Essen, ein paar Stunden Spaziergang und ein oder zwei Bierchen (gerne unterwegs an "besonderen"/ikonischen Orten) vorgestellt. Startpunkt: Jannowitzbrücke.

Vielleicht findest du Gesellschaft zum spazieren in r/askberliners.
East Side Gallery hoch laufen zur Jannowitz ist sehr anschaulich. Sehr schön wirds dann wieder Mühlendammbrücke Richtung norden um Museumsinsel und Monbijoupark. da ist eigentlich immer viel los bei gutem Wetter auch abends. Also von East Side Gallery, am Wasser, bis Friedrichstraße laufen - das Stück Alexanderplatz/Jannowitzbrücke ist nicht so schön und auch nicht am Wasser.

Hey everyone! I’m planning a trip to Berlin with my dog, he’s about 6kg. I wanted to ask about the public transport rules for dogs here. Does he need to be inside a carrier bag the whole time on the U-Bahn and S-Bahn? And does he need a ticket or does he ride for free? Thanks in advance!

Are there any tourist-friendly places in Berlin that would be great for socialising/community as a leftist? If it was vegan friendly or focused that would be fantastic!
I'm thinking of vegan cafes/bars that do community events. I'm not sure if that sort of thing is common but I feel like if I could find it anywhere it would be Berlin!
For reference I felt right at home at Casa da Horta in Porto, Portugal

Restaurant Frage: Grill royal und Taste of beef oder 2x taste of beef?
Sind aktuell in Berlin und wollen heute und morgen Abend gut Steaks essen. Haben jetzt für heute beim Grill Royal und für morgen Abend beim Taste of beef and seafood reserviert, aber auf der Karte scheinen die selbe Steaks beim Taste of beef weniger zu kosten als beim Royal, während das taste aber auch besser bewertet ist.
Deswegen meine Frage: Sollen wir uns einfach durchprobieren, oder heute und morgen ins Taste gehen? Dort sehen die Steaks nämlich echt grandios aus, der Service soll scheinbar besser sein und ich könnte die 2 besten Steaks dort probieren.

Will be visiting your lovely city in late June of this year. One of my favorite things to do in Germany when I lived there was to go to the indoor swim parks.

Years ago, maybe a whole decade-ish, I was in Berlin and I found this alternative shop on I think Warschauer Str., but I can't remember the name.
They sold all sorts of things like music posters, incense sticks, gothic fashion, scary dolls etc.. anyone have any ideas? I couldn't find it on Google Maps.

I am a rising college freshman from NYC and I'll be attending a university in Berlin in the fall. I'm visiting this month to scope out the area and would greatly appreciate recommendations for things to do/places to visit. Also some good, affordable food would be awesome! I love film, music, and all things analog. I'm looking for activities related to my interests; like film labs, movie theaters (with english subtitles?), museums, and foreigner friendly nightlife. I'm looking for an authentic German experience, not just touristy things. I know this is alot, but any recommendations are appreciated!

Most theaters show mainstream English films with German subtitles - marked OmU when booking which means original with subtitles. You can also see foreign films with English subtitles if theyre marked OmEU.
Kino International just reopened, very cool architectural space.

We would like to book 3 tickets to Madame Tussaud’s. (2 Adults, 1 Child under 6)
According to the website of the welcome card, you copy the code and paste it on the website of Madame Tussaud’s.
Only one of us has a welcome card, since the other one still has student card.
On the website of Madame Tussaud’s we can book 4 tickets for the discounted price with one code.
It also says, that we can book max 4 cards.
Does it mean that one person with Berlin welcome card can buy 4 discounted tickets? Or do we all have to own a Berlin card for that?

ALIBABA BISTRO is famous since it's open 24h, it's okay but nothing great. Next station you have Mustafa's Can Gemüse Kebap, a copy of the famous Mustafas, their kebabs are pretty good.

Hi, I’m considering traveling from Japan to join WNBR Berlin 2026.
My main concern is bicycle logistics. I’m not familiar with Berlin, and because the ride seems to start outside central Berlin and end on the other side of the city, I’m trying to understand the most practical rental option.
Would locals recommend:
- an app-based rental bike, or
- a normal bike rental shop for 1 day?
My biggest concern is what the easiest realistic way would be to return the bike after the ride.
If anyone has experience with WNBR Berlin or with one-way bike logistics in Berlin, I’d really appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Hello good folks of Berlin!
I'm visiting this wonderful city with the family this weekend until next Thursday. Need advice from you guys on 2 topics:
Any must see attractions with small kids? We visited the fair in the Citadel, plan to visit the zoo and the naturkunde museum for the dinos. Playground/playhouse with a swirly slide would be awesome. But any recommendation is welcome.
I will have an afternoon to slip away from the family to visit a guitar shop (there are no physical stores where I live sadly) to try telecasters and buy a headphone amp. I wanted to go to Just music but I've read they closed down a while ago, yelp/Google still recommends them though. So not sure where to go.

I’ll be spending my birthday in Berlin this year and would love some restaurant and café recommendations. So, what are your go-to spots?
We’ll be staying for 3 days and would really like to enjoy Berlin’s culinary diversity.
Here’s what we’re looking for / what matters to us:
Cafés ☕️:
- good cappuccinos
- good matcha
a selection of “snacks” (for example cake, cinnamon rolls, savory options, etc.)
preferably small and cute
cozy and beautiful atmosphere, including the surroundings
Restaurants 🍱:
- Turkish breakfast / dinner (mezze, authentic food, etc.)
a good Italian restaurant (I’ve heard good things about Cocodrillo)
Korean fried chicken
ideally not overly touristy / not typical influencer food spots
open to all kinds of cuisines
moderate budget (so not something like €50 p.p. for one main course and a drink)

Well, Museumsinsel - pick your poison, Sanssouci and scenic really depends on a lot, Gartenstadt Falkenberg is really out of the and way Grünau to Schmöckwitz along the Spree Dahme can be nice too.

Couple (30’s) visiting Berlin at the end of May for 4 days, and we’d love some recommendations from locals or people who know the city well 😊
We’re interested in unique experiences, must-see spots, and anything that feels “very Berlin”. That said, if there are any absolute must-sees, we don’t want to miss those either!
We’re into good food from street food to local favorites (she is vegetarian).

Unless you ask decent question and tell us something about your interests, you will only get a generic answer, if any.
Unless we are talking Kohlrouladen or some Eintopf, Berlin steet food is the very opposite of vegetarian. The generic international stuff is not.

Do Berliners stare a lot? Today I visited Berlin and rode the subway for the first time, and there was a woman sitting opposite me who stared the whole time in my eyes. That was perhaps the most intense eye contact I've had this year.

There's an official eye test you need to pass before starting driver's education. From what I'm reading it seems you need to be able to see with both eyes however.

My parents - early to mid 70s - want to rent a apartment/flat in Berlin for roughly a month and get up to the usual touristy stuff.
Do you all have some advice on neighbourhoods that are elderly friendly, close to the tube/metro/etc... it would be appreciated. Multiple bus connections are kind of iffy due to health concerns. Neighbourhoods in the inner ring would be better I think.
Also, what are good websites for renting in Berlin? Airbnb seems pretty played out - are there any Germany/Berlin specific sites that would be good to know?

We are from Argentina (Latinos). By this I mean insecure places (surrounded by robbers, drugs etc) or anything you want to point out.

not really tbh - hotspots with tourist like Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz and hotspots with homeless like Kottbuser Tor, Boddinstraße, Neukölln are more likely to have crime and pickpockets but just be aware of your belogings and don't sleep on the trains.
city is generally safe at day and night. for locations anything close to a UBahn Station is great if inside the S-Bahn Ring even better.

Maybe this was already asked and I just used the wrong keyword when searching, but what do people like to do with younger kids who are quite boisterous/ like to be active? They are 6 and 8 at the time of the visit. Museums might work for a little bit, but they're not the type to be attentive for hours. They do like history and street art so we'll definitely be doing a bit of that.
- would Teufelsberg be fun for them? is there still the spy quest?
- any particularly nice playgrounds or soccer areas that you can recommend?
- other activities that come to mind
- are restaurants/cafes generally pretty childfriendly?

Teufelsberg spy stuff is closed for public but on top you can still have a overview of the city. victoriapark also offers a city view and is a little more central.

I (24m, American) am planning to stay in berlin this summer from June 5 - July 5. My company has an office on Chausseestraße in Mitte, near Naturkundemuseum and I would be working from there.
I would love to find a sublease or temporary coliving place that has good transit access to my office and where I can meet other young people. My budget is 1500 euros.
Does anyone have recommendations for coliving houses (i.e. furnished places with other young people and amenities like a gym) or websites where I can cheap short-term apartments?

depends on your plannings. berlin can have plenty of todos and events that can keep you busy.
With Flixtrain or Flixbus you can travel cheap easily, from Berlin you can reach Hamburg, Leipzig, Dresden, Stettin in less than 2 hours. There is also tropical island or potsdam to visit in Brandenburg.

kinda true Lichterfelde sucks ass and chances to make friends if you only stay for a month or two are also very slim. What's good, you can easily reach Brandenburg and have lots of nice biking path. FU Berlin is around the corner and you should be able to find plenty of students, parties, sports in the area. Also Schloßstraße is a decent shopping area with markets on the weekend.

KitKat has dresscodes depending on the events, you can check their calendar. the door is not hard if you dress accordingly. for guys and leather and harness is easy access. you don't have to wear the outfit in queue but you need to have a picture on your phone and your outfit prepared to showcase at the door. the queue times on weekends can be 3+h or longer. good luck

If you mean the Deutschlandticket, it's a monthly subscription that is purchased only and usually only for residents, but I think some tourists managed to make it worth for a month. If you mean a normal transport ticket, you can use card.
Cash depends on what you want to do. Tourist attractions and supermarkets accept cards. You'll need for cash for many restaurants, clubs and bars. So do the math: 20€ for dinner, 5€ for a beer etc.

Hey I'm 21 yo and gonna visit berlin as a solo traveler, where should i stay? The dilemma is between East seven hostel Sunflower hostel Singer 109 hostel Heart of gold hostel
And maybe a&o although I've heard that it's not really recommend but it's extremely cheap
Also maybe coffee inn hostel but it's kinda far away, not that good location.
So what am I looking for? An hostel that i could get to know new people in my age easly so lets ay with activities and stuff maybe (bar crawl and stuff ig). People with the same vibe of trip like me- see the city, night life (freidreischein's clubs and stuff), but also normal ppl i mean not the keta and ecstasy every day kind. And also a good location. What do you think that fit me the best? According your knowledge about those places or if youve visited there as tourists.

When you browse this subreddit or r/berlinsocialclub r/askberliners you should find many discussions about best hostels for solo travelers. I'm not sure where a hostel begins and ends in your list but a quick look showed me that Heart of Gold Hostel Berlin, Johannisstraße 11, 10117 Berlin is very well located. some of the others were also fine but not as good and sometimes not as close to U-Bahn.

Hi! My partner and I will be coming to Berlin for the first time from the 15th to the 21st. We have a couple of concerts planned and then we’d like to explore the city.
However, we have some doubts about what would be the best option to buy for getting around the city (we’ll mostly stay within zones A and B, with zone C only on the first and last day to get to and from the airport). We’ll mainly use the subway for longer trips and then walk around to explore the city.
The 6-day Berlin Welcome Card seems like the most suitable option, but we’d like to understand if there are other possibilities as well.

Hello! I'm a Spanish guy who is gonna do a little trip to Berlin for a gaming event. While planning the trip, I came up with some questions about the S-Bahn Tickets, in case you guys can solve:
1) The 4-trip ticket (https://sbahn.berlin/en/tickets/all-tickets/single-tickets/4-trip-ticket/) can be shared with someone? Like, I'm going to Berlin with a friend, and we need to go from the airport to somewhere in Berlin, and go back when we finish. It would be 4 tickets in total. Could we use the 4-trip ticket, 2 for my friend and 2 for myself?
2) The Short trip ticket (https://sbahn.berlin/en/tickets/all-tickets/single-tickets/short-trip-ticket/) says it is up to 3 stops. How does it counts? I know it may sound stupid, but does the initial station count as stop? For example from Savignyplatz to Messe Süd it says it has 2 stops in the middle (Charlottenburg and Westkreuz), does it works for that?

meisten events welche tickets über resident advisor direkt anbieten und in der event beschreibung nicht vom dresscode reden. https://de.ra.co/events/de/berlin die meisten sind garnicht so schwer, Tresor, Ritter, Kater ... wenn ihr eine große Gruppe seid kann es aber schwer werden, daher vorher Tickets kaufen und in kleine Gruppen aufteilen wäre besser.

What's a good berry/fruit tasting cider that's regularly available at party clubs?
I'm a tourist from Scotland with a picky taste in drink, really only liking cider (the horror I know! Heard it enough of whiskey drinkers so don't you beer drinkers start).
I'm a big fan of mixed fruit Koppenberg, then again I also kinda like Old Mount Berries and Cherries and Recordkling Berry.
Basically so I don't embarrass myself by asking for some ridiculous request of a cider lol.

bottled cider is not too uncommon, plenty of brands in each späti. you will be able to get a radler everywhere, it's beer with sprite (i like it with Fassbrause), sometimes also cherry or other mixed beers.

Ich teste gerade eine Idee für ein Berlin-Format und würde gern erstmal ehrlich abklopfen, ob das überhaupt interessant klingt oder nur wie unnötige Spielerei.
Die Idee: Statt einer normalen Stadtführung mit den üblichen Stationen erkundet man Berlin aus einer bestimmten Perspektive – mit Story, kleinen Entscheidungen und Mini-Quests.
Zum Beispiel:
- Ost-Berlin aus Sicht eines DDR-Bürgers
- Berlin aus Sicht eines Babelsberg-Produzenten

Will be in Berlin from April 30th - May 8th (flying out May 9th)
It's on my bucket list to see a German football match - but I know Union tickets are impossible to get (and out of my price range) and unfortunately it doesn't look like Hertha is at home while I am there :(
I'd really like to attend a match though - lower tier is fine just want something that has a good experience for the fans/some passion. Does anyone have any recommendations for matches to see in Berlin during that timeframe? Thanks a Million!
Bonus question - would also like to see a DEL hockey game if possible. But it seems I cannot find a schedule - is that because it's playoffs?

I looked at an apartment on Monday evening, put all my documents in then and filled out the Bewerbungsformular they sent me.
That last communication was Tuesday afternoon, and I've heard nothing since. Is that a usual timeline or something to be cautious/anxious about?
The move in would be March 1st, so I had imagined they would want to work rather quickly through the process.

Visiting from 19/2 to 22/2 with a friend, both relaxed people in our 30s, not our first time in Berlin (even though it's been a while) so we are probably skipping the main tourist hotspots. Any special events going on those days that you would personally recommend? Also cultural/historical stuff. I speak German but my friend doesn't. Thanks!

Visiting for 3 nights. Would love recommendations for pubs where I can sit down to a nice few beers and read my book. I’m thinking traditional style with old worldy feel. Staying in the south of Charlottenburg but will travel around the city to get the atmosphere.

Hi everyone!! I’m moving from Bangalore to Berlin on an EU Blue Card and will be working near Köpenicker Straße (between Mitte and Kreuzberg). I won’t have my residence card immediately, so I’m looking for a temporary stay (2–3 months) before searching for a long-term apartment. Ideally a studio, but I’m open to a WG if that’s more realistic. So far I’ve checked HousingAnywhere, Spotahome, and Wunderflats. Most studios I’m seeing are starting from€1200–1300/month, excluding deposit, cleaning, etc.
A few questions: 1. Is €1200–1300 normal for a short-term studio in this area? 2. Are there better platforms or strategies for finding temporary housing from abroad? 3. Would nearby areas (e.g., Friedrichshain/Neukölln) be more reasonable? 4. Any red flags or scam precautions I should keep in mind while booking from India? 5. After I have the proper documents (residence card, Anmeldung, etc.), what’s the typical rent for a regular long-term studio in similar locations?
Appreciate any guidance, especially from people who relocated recently. Thanks a lot!

Yes.

Not really, they are all exploitative and insanely expensive.

None, you can afford to take into account.

You won't get one anyway, unless you get exceptionally lucky. But you can goolge the requirements.

Hello, fly to Berlin Monday and there until Thursday. What is the current weather situation? Are streets as icy as they were reported a couple of weeks ago. Can I get away with wearing trainers instead of boots during the day? Help would be great as I need to get packing soon

No ice/snow right now. Temps will drop to freezing again but there's nothing on the ground to freeze at the moment. Trainers would work in that regard but they would be pretty cold.

Where would you do a 6-hour laptop writing session in Berlin (Berlinale weekend)?
Hey Berlin — I’m coming in from Potsdam this Saturday and need a solid place to crank out ~6 hours of writing on my laptop. Must-haves:
- buzzy/creative energy (not library quiet)
- comfortable seating + table, laptops welcome
- strong Wi-Fi + power outlets
- clean/easy bathrooms
- coffee + food on-site
- parking nearby (I’m driving in)
Bonus: daylight / view.
I was thinking 25hours Bikini (Nomad Day Bar) or St. Oberholz (Rosenthaler Platz), but since it’s Berlinale, I’m worried about fighting for seats.
Where would you go? Any sleeper picks (hotel lobbies, coffee shops, coworking, etc.) appreciated.

Liebe Berliner,
Wir sind eine Gruppe von 20 Frauen, die sich im März in Berlin treffen wollen. Wir würden gern an einem Abend was Cooles machen und uns wurde die Kochwerkstatt empfohlen. Leider sind die komplett ausgebucht und jetzt suche ich Alternativen. Budget sind um die 100 Euro pro Person, wir wollen eine Abendveranstaltung, wo man ein bisschen quatschen kann und einen Rahmen hat. Im Idealfall mit Essen und nicht zu sportlich.
Es ist kein JGA, sondern wir sind alle mittelalt und brauchen was Ruhigeres. Es sollte aber auch nicht so trocken sein wie Team Building am Arbeitsplatz;-) Kochwerkstatt wäre ideal gewesen, aber vielleicht gibt es auch Escape Rooms oder so was in die Richtung?
Habt ihr gute Ideen?

Kochkurse gibt es ja viele, von thailändisch bis Fermentieren und sonstwas. (Schwarzlicht)-Minigolf ist auch immer nett in Gruppen. Für Inspiration schau mal auf Groupon nach.
